I hate that Dreama Donathan so much! That was unnecessary for her to rip the flower off Dorothy Jane Torkelson's salvation army cotillion dress! I am so glad that Riley Roberts put Dreama Donathan in her place!
I’ve held the same opinion of her since adolescence. Wtf kinda name is dreama anyway? She’s a nightmare. I hate when people try to embarrass others unnecessarily 😒
This is a great show, very underrated tv shows of the 90's,it was way ahead of its time.this tv series is pure family entertainment.this one is no exception.

Yeah, I hate it that NBC was so unfair to it. Believe me, if I had been in charge, that show would've stayed on. Why do networks keep shit shows on the air? Ratings, that's why.
If This Show Had Gone On Longer Riley Would've Graduated College And Dorothy Would've Graduated High School Then They Would've Realized They Were Made For Each-Other.
If Dorothy Jane and Riley are different ages wasn't Steve on Full house older than DJ and if that's the case I'm surprised Danny let her date him I think that Milicent could of gave Dorothy Jane a chance to be with Riley but with Kirby he is too immature for Dorothy Jane he nothing like Dorothy Jane just saying
Yes, I wish the show would’ve followed Dorothy Jane through high school. They tried to revamp it by moving them to the city, but Almost Home wasn’t as good a show, in my opinion.
Wow. So many little bits came back to me just before they happened. From Chucky Lee going GOoood gooooood, to Mary Sue saying she wants a baby brother and her mom saying no, to Kirby saying "you'll ditch me." Thank you. ❤

oh my Gods! I remember this show from the late 90s on Disney. I was a teenager. The wholesome atmosphere is so amazing. 😢 we have nothing like this on tv anymore. Back then you always found good shows like this one that taught you morals and had heartwarming characters. Love Dorothy Jane talking to the man in the moon every episode. As for this episode. I hate that Dream Donavan. She didn't have be so rude. But I loved how Riley stood up for her.
Poor 14 year old girl doesn’t realize the boy next door only treats her like a little sister but she still dramatically fantasize that he is secretly in love with her. Poor girl is in for a painful reality call later on in the series.
I cannot stand Dreamas smug look on her face but the dance was ruined when Kirby grabbed DJ at the dance at the end and she was humiliated by everyone at the dance with him when she wanted to dance with the most handsome guy in the school Riley
I feel like they should've set it up better. Maybe they could've put in a line or two where Kirby expresses some dread that Dorothy Jane will ditch him to go dance with someone more popular than him. Man, if only they did that, we'd better understand his jealousy at seeing her with Riley.
What the heck happened to Ernie Lively and Benj Thall (the original eldest son of the family) after the pilot? I liked Ernie's character, as he was a sweet and fitting suitor for the mother. Aaron Michael Metchik's character was a bit of a punk! But the biggest change between episodes 1 and 2 was the addition of Mrs. Cora-Beth Godsey from The Waltons! I don't remember her being on this show. Man, she pretty much looked and sounded the same in the '90s as she did in the '70s. Crazy!
Michael Jacobs, the creator, basically gave up and scrapped the show to start focusing on Boy Meets World. That's basically why the Torkelsons never went very far.
I loved this show as a kid, but now watching it as an adult and single mom, it gives me even more "feels." Dorothy Jane took the high road, because sis Dreama would've gotten slapped for snatching that rose off MY dress.

The writing for this sitcom is GOLDEN. Even when I was a kid I could feel how warm it was.
The intro gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. I remember loving this show and how wholesome it was.
Yeah, it is touching and funny.
I too am still deeply moved by this show. 🥺
It’s a a shame that they don’t make show like this anymore, clean & wholesome
I watched this show everyday when I was 5 yrs old in 1991
I was eleven when I watched this show every afternoon ❤ after school 🎒
This was my favorite episode. The only one I remember.

I remember this too. I’ve never looked at a Salvation Army the same lol
I couldn't remember the name of the show so I googled "single mom 5 kids lots of curly hair" and it worked!! 😆😆😆 Internet is great
I just adore Mr. Hodges - nice play there, sir. ;)

Anyone else love this house. I would love to have a house like that! So beautiful
Yeah. I love Dorothy Jane's room.
Yes!❤️
Yes that house is beautiful
Me too, I would love to live in house like the one on this show.
Dorothy Jane's bedroom is my dream room. I will always want a beautiful window-seat like she had!
Dorothy Jane talking to the man in the moon in every episode was my favorite part of the show. She was so charming and sweet.

Even the theme song of this show was wonderful and the end credits theme music also was wonderful.

I didn't like how she look down on Dorothy Jane family.
@Callie, agreed. What a snotty little dishrag of a person.
@Alexandra, I think Dreama embarrassed DJ to make herself feel superior. That’s the only reason I can think of. It was witchy and wrong, of course.

It was obvious that Riley saw Dorothy Jane more of a friend/little sister.
