It's a crying shame, I tell ya. Michael wasn't allowed to be himself. He wasn't allowed to be different. It's almost like society took ownership of him and wanted to keep him a certain way. When he didn't stay in their mold, people got angry. That's too bad. He lived his life the way he wanted to live it. There was autotune on at least 'Michael' and 'Xscape'. To my producers ear it sounds like it was used here. People seem to have an idea that auto tune is just what you hear in modern RnB/ Hiphop, or just know the use of autotune as an audio effect rather than more subtle pitch correction.
I was thinking this. his voice just sounds a bit..too perfect? here. there is some kind of correction to keep him within that rock steady pitch, surely. if you heard that sound come from somebody singing right in front of you it would be one of the most jarring things you ever hear in your life. if its not pitch correction (I think there is some here) there's at least some kind of chorus effect.@@peteg4957 listen at 7:30 and it seems to be the raw vocal. not quite as perfect. still absolutely great sounding voice though of course.

bob robin You give me too much credit. I am just a regular dude who chose this avatar because I was in a band called "Culture of Greed". One of my concerts was shut down because the club owner was a Mason. We wrote songs to open people's eyes to the the truth of the world, not deceive them into complacency. The avatar is a statement of disgust, not a symbol of agreement.
bob robin You are one of the few that have believed my story and not attacked me after hearing it. Much respect to you for listening to my story and thank you for your faith in me.

Yo Quincy is really a genius in that booth. That back up 2 feet changed SO much audio wise. It makes the vocal harmonizer effect blend in so much better . And hes creating space and depth with the takes further from the mic. Then when you add panning... BEAUTIFUL
I wonder if today's kids (and even most adults) even know what "Pardon?" means. Michael never said "What?" when he talked to people. Never in an interview and not even in regular conversations. He was always polite which many people took as being naïve and/or a pushover. He was just being respectful. Sadly, a very rare trait nowadays.
I'm a today kid and I know very well what pardon means. I think that as soon as someone uses it in a sentence, anyone can catch on to the meaning. I admire Michael's respect for people and I try to be as respectful as possible to everyone I talk to. Michael is a great inspiration but, sadly, not many kids of my generation look to him for inspiration when they should. I'm just glad to be one of the few kids of today's generation to seek good morals and one of the few kids that looks up to Michael Jackson. He will be forever missed and loved. R.I.P. Michael Jackson.
And thank God that there are young people like you! Very few but it makes you even more valuable... you are gem. Stay the way you are and I wish you all the best in your life.

He just seems in such personal pain... I feel like the poor guy needs a hug. He's polite and helpful, when he could be a pain and say annoying stuff like, "I'll buy this whole place if you don't like it! " kind of crap. Instead he's moving floor equipment and giving a true professional performance. We don't get quality like that often, especially recently. RIP Michael, you went too soon.
He sure was... That Kanye guy sounds like he needs therapy too, but for narcissism, instead of a lack of self esteem or poor self image. Jeez, I think KW said "someone should pay off my $50m debt because I'm the greatest artist living. " or something equally ridiculous. Sure, let's go ahead and toss KW ahead of Peter Max, Ai Wei Wei, Quentin Tarantino, or like a million other folks. He should have kept his jaws wired shut. That's when he made his only good stuff.
Nate Hill I completely agree with you that Michael was true artist&we lack such people nowadays, but as for ego thats actually what most great artists, painters, athletes have - its rather a self- confidence, trait needed to succeed, because if you do not believe in yourself, you will not do great things. Remember ppl used to say abt Picasso - ''from his talent, only his ego was bigger''. And I think Michael had big ego too, but in positive sense I just described. The difference is really in attitude - Kanye shoud just shut up& learn some manners.
I'll never forget or forgive the people that were so unbelievably cruel to one of the most kind-hearted, caring, sweet, and talented people this planet has and probably will ever see.

"While Michael was singing his lines, Steve Perry hurries into the control room, peers through the window at MJ and says, 'Am I dreaming?'" Even Steve was mesmerized!
When I see him and hear him singing, especially on those high falsetto notes, and his smile and his shyness and joy, and when he assertively strikes a pose because he cannot contain his passion... I just feel so much stirring within myself. It is so easy to love this person. He really was one of our earth's greatest muses. We should have given him so much more respect. I hope to watch him singing for our Lord when I get to heaven.
If he was alive today I don’t know many people who would allow their kids to sleep in his bed with him. Let’s get real, he was very weird and took liberties with children that no adult should ever take part in
Ignorance refers to a lack of knowledge. In this specific case the facts are he was a weirdo who had sleep overs with little boys. As in children slept in bed with a grown adult. You can call me ignorant, but I’m sure you wouldn’t sign your child up for that.
Sometimes I convince myself Michael was an incarnation of an angel. Best voice on earth ever, I hope he reincarnate to bless the world with the same abilities.

The respect Michael had for Quincy is incredible and of course Quincy letting Michael make any adjustments he wanted. No wonder they were able to make so many masterpieces together, they were musical soulmates
but nowadays, it’s easier to access music and other internet content. Back then, you had to go out and buy CD’s and such. Now, all that is on our phones. I personally wouldn’t want to go back to the 80’s and 90’s because we’ve gotten so technologically advanced. Although, we should start appreciating older music, and start making more music like this.
I appreciate you are saying that Jaay. Anytime I hear a young person say that it makes me smile. But honestly to truly be imo the perfect age for this, is to be born in the 70’s. I was born in 1970, therefore I was 15 years old when We Are The World happened and I remember it like it was yesterday! Same goes for any other artist or event or movie or show from back then. The golden years for me and for pop culture!! It was the perfect age to be... to truly enjoy, take part and be a part of the 80’s and 90s
The biggest name in the music business, yet the humility is what made him what he was. Love, respect and commitment to perfection. That was the differentiator.
I sometimes think that just maybe he might of actually been a pedophile but then I hear the songs he has written like this and there’s just no way he could’ve sexually abused children
Emiliano Jimenez I don't know why anyone would believe a one sided story in the first place I mean the guy changed his story mutiple times and michael was proven innocent 3 times so wtf!!
Korey Rodriguez I’ve thought about that too, I’m not saying I believe the 2 men either, just proves that saying that if people hear a lie long enough they start to believe it, which a lot of people believe now

The eighties were a GREAT time to be a teenager (and I saw ALL of the greats in that era - MJ, Prince, Madonna, Duran Duran etc.) on multiple occasions. I even got to spend 5 days at Neverland and meet his kids in 2002. MJ is/was certainly one of a kind.

@@SB-20 I think Bruno Mars is going to go down in history as another "legend" in the same spirit as MJ, Prince etc. ... so all is not lost for the people who didn't get to experience those guys in their prime. Decades from now, kids will envy you too 😊. Edit: So go see Bruno if you get the chance. He takes the job of putting on a great show every bit as seriously as MJ did (and I think I saw MJ live 8 or 9 times over 18 years - 1971 thru 1989 - including the last two dates of the Bad tour that I had to fly home to L.A. from college in TN to see 😁). You're right. Thanks!

This nose is not his original nose. And maybe we could talk about Michael without talking about surgery for once ? He was so damn right when he said that no other star is bothered as much as he was about surgery.
I was responding to achillies25
no problem =)
0:44 his innocent “sorry” 🥹
He was the best one in the song and the most emotional voice
just when I thought he couldn't reach any higher note, he goes 7:40 ... And this is why he is and will be the best.
Even his speaking voice was melodical
Most black people are naturally like that.
Sam LSD-- Your comment was idiotic.
"It is better to stay quiet, and be thought of as a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
He speaks in Cher' key
Sam LSD he got his balls removed or something that made his testosterone level extremely low to keep his voice high pitchedhis father admitted to it, no hate mike he was my idol :))
And with what other stupidity are you gonna come up with again, huh?
Michael Jackson was so precious.
I do not understand why everyone was so mean R.I.P mj

That's Michael Jackson!
Wouldn't expect anything less from the GOAT 😉👌
I've been rewatching that part over and over again. It's so cuuute 😍
@ yes😭💔
I am in full support with that
That's in him! He just cannot express music through his voice...that's not enough!
Will there be anyone like him ? He is the definition of superstar. Ive never heard him sing out of tune.
Have you been with him in a studio
Thanks to Joe.
Yea if god send’s another…..
He looks so happy.. so fucking happy the way the media destroyed him turned him into a frightening shadow of his former self is fucking unbelievable he was so happy. If theres was ever a artist who made music simply to pleasure others it can be michael. RIP MIchael Jackson. My heart goes out to his kids
At the end of the day, he wasn't hurting anybody, so I never understood what the problem was. Mike was never the problem, people were, and still are.
barnesfam Exactly.
barnesfam AGREED! Not only that but he wasn't even "allowed" to be a normal kid. Fuck he was a super star at the age of what 5? SMH. I would grow up to be a weirdo to!! Who wouldn't?

So true 💓
There was autotune on at least 'Michael' and 'Xscape'. To my producers ear it sounds like it was used here. People seem to have an idea that auto tune is just what you hear in modern RnB/ Hiphop, or just know the use of autotune as an audio effect rather than more subtle pitch correction.
I was thinking this. his voice just sounds a bit..too perfect? here. there is some kind of correction to keep him within that rock steady pitch, surely. if you heard that sound come from somebody singing right in front of you it would be one of the most jarring things you ever hear in your life.
if its not pitch correction (I think there is some here) there's at least some kind of chorus effect.@@peteg4957
listen at 7:30 and it seems to be the raw vocal. not quite as perfect. still absolutely great sounding voice though of course.
Micheal had such a beautiful voice
MJ was a genius! He was the best singer, dancer and songwriter of all time!
Hands down, best multifaceted artist

I really like him a lot too. But most of the songs he sang he didn’t write. So songwriter? I’m not so sure about that.
Olaf Kuhnke he wrost most of his songs .. Billie Jean , beat it , smooth criminal , we are the world , they way u make me feel , remember the time , thriller , they don’t care about us and many more . So wym. ?
Michael has a different type of talent....he’s not like everyone else...He’s special and needs to be cherished.

That note he hit at 8:10 is heavenly
ayee
The note at 8:10 is what separates Michael Jackson from other 'celebrities'. He was like a rocket going into the stratosphere. He was miles above everyone else. Once in a lifetime kind of talent right there. Also look up his falsetto version of 'Earth Song'.

No Auto-Tune here. That is just a great song, a talented singer, a great sounding room, great mics, great mic preamps, and experienced engineers.
Hey Illuminati. Don't you ever get tired of being this "evil mastermind from behind the scenes"? Wouldn't you ever like to just be able to walk outside and maybe sip on some tea while sitting on the beach? You don't have to continue to terrorize our world. You can be more than what you were created to be. Stop following Satan and turn your life around.
bob robin You give me too much credit.
Jim Walker Whoa... That's pretty deep. I was just foolin' with ya' though. I know your not Illuminati (or at least now I do). God bless!

God his falsetto was everything. And how sweet he was... it never ceases to amaze me... right ?
I'm not even sure if that was falsetto. He had incredible control and there is a lot of power behind those phrases. I think it is full or head voice
Tsukino Usagi not falsetto. Full voice
Thats not falsetto its a light mix
Fancy The BOLD @7:40 when MJ sings “ there’s a choice we’re making” and so on,, that’s undoubtedly his falsetto.
Mixed voice a blend of head and chest voice.
he is so well mannered and polite, we don't see many artists who uses "sorry" or "please" these days.
Or pardon either. I love it when he says pardon.
Right!
I noticed the same thing he is such a respectful guy.
You are an obscene individual and you have no idea what you're talking about. Shame on you.

No Auto-Tune, No Melodyne. Good times..
There are plenty of artists who still do that. You gotta look in the right places
Michael Jackson - The Legendary non-auto-tune singer
Daft Punk - The Legendary auto-tune band

edit: the chorus is the one they recorded over and over. but 7:30 onwards just MJ and the mic
Melodyne is necessary for all artists. Doesn’t matter how good

The Black Knight i know right o.O
No one can blame you cause he was beautiful, sexy, hot gorgeous, unique, amazing, mesmerizing and one of a kind. Nope I dont think your gay at all it dont take a girl to appreciate how beautiful and gorgeous this man is. I want to kiss, lick and bite this man mmmm, sorry yes he is beautiful !!!

It makes me want to cry knowing we will never meet anyone like MJ again. We were all so blessed to be able to know him as a musician, we treated him so terribly. My heart goes out to him, his work, and his legacy. I appreciate all he’s done for us. Thank you Michael 🥺🥺🥺
He was unique
Michael loved Jesus and said in interviews that he strived to live like Him. So, you can meet someone like him. The one who inspired him is alive.
How badly ? Poor children
MJ seems like such a nice guy, and he's more talented than any modern pop acts by an insane amount..
that's why he's the king.
Nate Hill yes too soon
I believe he was murdered by the powerful hands
Nate Hill I completely agree with you that Michael was true artist&we lack such people nowadays, but as for ego thats actually what most great artists, painters, athletes have - its rather a self- confidence, trait needed to succeed, because if you do not believe in yourself, you will not do great things. Remember ppl used to say abt Picasso - ''from his talent, only his ego was bigger''. And I think Michael had big ego too, but in positive sense I just described. The difference is really in attitude - Kanye shoud just shut up& learn some manners.
Which artist would be humble enough to say "sorry, I forgot"? a TRUE legend..willing to adapt and be better every time...miss him so much.

Edit: So go see Bruno if you get the chance.
