Just watched now. Hands down the best prequel ever made. One of the greatest experience that i ever had in cinema, one of the best movie i ever seen. Best movie of the year and it's not even close. Im going to rewatch it in theater again. George Miller is a genius. This is why we go to cinema. What a movie, what a lovely movie!

@@michaelnelson9567 do not get me wrong mate i loved dune part two, i watched It 4 times and i Just bought the blu ray. But Furiosa is on a level of his own this year. Not even close to anything i saw this year (and i saw pretty much every movie that came out this year).
@@Mauidemigod249 Same, I JUST came off a Dune 2 theatrical viewing a couple weeks ago..and Furiosa destroyed it. My favorite theatrical experience maybe only behind Gladiator as a teenager.

Yeah i was blown put of my socks, it was incredible. Im taking my mom this week, she trusts my opinions but is weary of Mad Max. Im hoping she'll enjoy it so kuch that we can roll right into ahowing her Fury Road
Film is insane. So brutal. Not only is it amazing on its own but it makes Fury Road even better. The recurring characters and locations always have a purpose, it never feels like “Fury Road 2.0” even though the trailers kind of make it seem so. I just saw it last night and I’m still processing but this is an easy 9/10.
I think there is a 3 hr cut of Furiosa. I felt that when the remaining runtime left for the last chapter is quite short but overall this prequel makes the Mad Max: Fury Road more amazing.

Anya's eyes are godly! Its looking at Alita's cgi eyes or an anime character but its real beautiful and powerful. I knew day one she would fucking knock it out the park and it was not an easy role to follow.
I believe George said he wants to make one more movie called wasteland

Mad Max movies have always been about Max randomly wandering the wastelands and stumbling into some preexisting conflict he triggers.

Cant wait to see it which I am doing tomorrow night with my girl. We have been fans since the 80's and the Franchises beginnings but Fury Road is unbelievable and this looks just as good.
FURIOSA is a masterpiece. The theme of all Mad Max movies is this: "As the world falls around us, how must we brave its cruelties?" We know how Mad Max braved its cruelties: He fought evil and heroically helped others. Furiosa does the same in FURIOSA and FURY ROAD, but we get to see just how much cruelty she experienced. The 40 or so minutes devoted to young Furiosa is essential to understanding the character. We may think that because of these experiences Furiosa would become like Dementus and completely give up hope, but she never does. We may think that Furiosa would become cruel like so many people around her, including Dementus, and what she does to Dementus is very cruel, but the punishment shows that hope grows from the furious fight against evil. (The peach pit is a symbol of hope.) At that point, Furious begins to help other people: Immortan Joe's harem. Furiosa's furious fight against evil is partially successful: She defeats Dementus. But evil still remains, and she (and Mad Max) have much more work to do. FURIOSA's box office may be disappointing, but the movie is a masterpiece.

I liked it more than Fury Road but together these films are a perfect symbiosis. You should watch the films one after the other. They are so good and Fury Road finally makes "more" sense to me.

I cant wait to see this! I love the world George Miller has created with the Mad Max films. Been watching them since I was a kid. At 80 yrs old he out directs other action directors half his age. My only hope is that Miller has at least one more Max film in him…and it’d be great if he got Mel Gibson to play an aging Max in the wasteland. What a way to end this amazing series that would be.

nice review. just got back from seeing it. my first impression is a 9/10 my only slight critique would be some of the CGI being too noticeable in some scenes, but i thought it was wonderful.
I mean it’s Anya Taylor-Joy sis is one of the best Actress of this generation. I hope this movie does great this awards season in the tech category’s. I know it’s not gonna get any acting nominations. But I hope that one day down the line a few years from now she sweeps awards season one day.
I guess I am in the minority. I thought it was extremely disappointing. Drags and then peters out. Two things you'd never expect from a Mad Max movie. Technically yes it's great despite subpar CGI but it is not the epic it thinks it is. Sorry but I'm glad people like it.

I totally vibed with this film. I absolutely love Charlize Theron's performance in Fury Road and was concerned they wouldn't be able to do her backstory justice, but nope, this was a fantastic script executed by an amazing director and cast. Anya deepening her voice and mirroring Charlize's cadence when she gave the order to get herself kitted out was one of those moments where you're like holy fuck they've really done it here. This IS Furiosa. What a movie.

Latest Mad Max series are litmus test of modern cinema audience which help us to distinguish real cinefils from ordinary mediocre movie goers. I can giveaway my 10 years of life to George Miller with a snap for him to continue making Mad Max Universe.
I know this sounds incredibly hyperbolic, but I'm right there with you.
I was horrified by the CGI heavy trailer but reviews made me go out and give it a chance. I LOVE it! Almost as good as Fury but in a different way. And I was so hyped for Dune 2 but it was good, not incredible. I think Furiosa takes the top spot now

fury road is genuinely one of the best stories of all time though
Max loses his humanity is reduced to a single instinct of survival.
You see him like an animal while he wears a mask and has no care for furiosa and the wives.
Through furiosa he learns trust and furiosa learns not to run from her problems but to face them head on
When they work together society flusters
It's a deep character study and unlike other action movies the general audience does not get it because they need exposition like die hard and Terminator
For example when the warboy screams witness me and jumps on a car you learn 3 things from that scene alone:-
There's a culture of sacrificing yourself for glory
There's a higher figure and a reward in the afterlife
And that these youngsters are brainwashed
Any other director would have explained this stuff through dialogue but not Miller who paints a story visually not through dialogue
Another example is the blood transfusion scene at the end between max and furiosa. There's no explanation because we see max nux get blood from Max in a similar fashion and the audience can infer through that
Another example is when nux steals Max's shoes or when max takes furiosas guns. These items are returned to their respective owners once max learns to trust them and let's go of his survival instinct and becomes human again
Every single scene is jam packed with story telling and there's no filler
I can keep going but you get the point
Oh and regarding Marvel movies....yeah I think anyone should be able to differentiate between mad max and Marvel movies. Marvel movies are Action pause action type generic films
Whereas in mad max the action is the story

@RYCBARM123 Glad you referred to "certain types of dudes" because they certainly aren't men. Real men aren't afraid of and instead embrace and cherish strong women. The problem is that those "dudes" threatened by a character like Furiosa don't have the slightest clue what "woke" actually is.

Love FURIOSA but Fire Walk With Me is the best prequel.

Duh movie is about origins of Furiosa character. A big motive behind how she became what you saw in Fury Road comes from her childhood, therefore I completely understood and loved the time spent in this part of her life. You get to understand the character
