Your channel is amazing!!! For medical reasons I have to use a mobility devices part time and you videos are a great help. Thank you so much for making this available for everyone
Love this! I've been following your channel for years and finally have my own potential service dog puppy. The advanced training is so exciting but for now we are focusing on socialization to places and people. :)
Donna I find your video helpful clear They give me the push I need when I lack motivation They help me clean up some sloppiness just all in all totally enjoyable Though my guy has passed his Access test Training doesn’t stop rewards don’t stop this is a life long comment I thank you for all your help support in this fun journey
We have everything but the potty! We usually walk down the road to his potty spot that way he gets some energy and practice and also gets empty before we go out!
I dropped a pill accidentally and my service dog in training looked at me and didn’t eat it,still working on loose leash walking as I have ignored that factor, depending on where we are I let her lay down one her own or I direct her to the spot I would like her to be,she will just stand and wait, has shown no sign of stress and is on a schedule of using the bathroom but I do give her a chance to go before we go into a building
@@supernaturalbc2008 and she knows how to guide me out of a building and we are working on figuring how to not pull on the mobility handle 😅but she is doing great, she also loves other dogs so we are working on that to
My dog is working on lose leash and distractions .she is improving but didn't know if you had some in field tips I can do . She is a 3 year old border collie and Australian shepherd x
That ability to settle is a temperament thing, I think. There is a variable there that you can capitalize on and expand on but you are not going to be able to exceed inherent genetic capability..
Settle/relax can absolutely be taught! You are correct that there are different levels of awareness and comfort in individuals. For example we choose a terrier for a hearing dog as they tend to be more "get up and go" and faster to alert than a calm golden. Some dogs will be able to actually rest, while others will be on some level of alert at all times. A service dog should, however, be able to actually relax while working or he's not going to be able to sustain an 8 hour work day, even if he's laying waiting for an alert to be needed. Thanks for your comment!
Good to know! I am just getting my feet wet. Considering I don't like being filmed, I think I am doing well. LOL! When I first started my channel, I was afraid to be filmed at all! Little steps! (Yet I used stand live in front of a crowd of 500 people and speak!)

You are very welcome!
Excellent presentation.. appreciate the clear guidelines.
Thanks for watching!
Great list. I like the way you broke LLW into 8 components. Though isolating just one variable at a time seems tricky to achieve.
It actually makes it easier as the criterion are easy to measure.
Love this!
