Hi Fed - it's nice to see you starting off the New Year with another great video! In reply to Redondo's question, the fact that one says 'pièce unique' rather than unique piece does, indeed, stem from the structural difference of the French language, relative to English: that is, in French, the noun precedes the adjective (e.g. 'la voiture verte' = 'the car green'); whereas in English, the adjective precedes the noun ('the green car'). Hence, 'une pièce unique'
First 😉 My favourite Japanese Independent is Hajime Asaoka. I’ve tried his Watches on at the AHCI show in Geneva and they are beautiful. The Otsuka Lotec No.6 I’ve been chasing for months (before it won the GPHG) but, I found out that you can only order them if you pay with a Japanese Credit Card!! I’m not paying triple the price they go for on the used market so I guess unfortunately I won’t get one 😏
La french lesson: Pièce unique is pronounced "PS" and indeed just means unique piece. Most swiss brands originate from french-speaking areas of Switzerland so there is a lot of french on the dials and nomenclature.
Personally, I would consider Seiko an independent watch maker. They aren't owned by anyone, and they produce all their watches in house although I believe there are separate divisions in the company that produce certain types of watches.
It’s NOT “piece unique”! It’s “Pièce Unique”. Please note the diacritic over the e. The term is in French as many horology terms. Pronounced, [pee-ay-s ooneek] For that matter, it’s “guilloché” [guillochay] not guilloche [geeyosh].
Thanks for using my question!!!!! Love your channel and your truly authentic views in the watch industry.

Aleksander Shorokhoff for me
Alpine Eagle XPS finishing is light years ahead of the Laureato and I’m not sure why you failed to mention that. Pretty big oversight imo
Everyone I know has said that. Is the Eagle that much better than the GP Laureato?
Romance languages like French usually place their adjectives after the noun
Love u Frex
Good video
How are you? I'm watching you.
Let’s goooooooooo 🍿
Rebellion kind of took the Ferrari model except instead of making cars to fund their racing team, they sell watches.
When it comes to independent Japanese. I love Minase watches. Otsuka Lotec is great. But those things are unobtainable.
Minase is an amazing brand!

True actually. I never thought of that but indeed they are….they’re just a bigger independent…. 🇬🇧

It is called, Piece of Sheet!🤣🤣🤣
I think u get it as French, that's the point
The animal noises that constitute the french "language" are not fit for civilized tongues.
Thank you. Fed is Italian and would understand romance languages so he'll get it
