@@TabooX1984 Kraft singles pair really well with your average Sap, Whirligig, or Ground beetle, but I prefer a nice pepper jack with some kick for the special occasion we break out the Dung Beetles. Really cuts through the earthiness.
I liked the part where he opened Marsh Flats.
That was my experience too. I opened 5 Marsh Flats across two boxes. Only one of each of the others.
Apparently, WOTC is giving away Marsh Flats.
I only opened Marsh flats as retro foils or etched foils. But I got more tarns than anything else in my boxes.

Its wild that each box has an average of 3-4 fetches. I got two verdants, an arid, and a marsh. Marsh flats seem to be EVERYWHERE

@@KyosukeTsuchigami101 Doesn't need to be only in a boros deck. It is better there for sure, but can get any mountain or plains so if I had it it would be in my grixis edh deck to fetch my blood crypt (as an example)
@@TokenWG it cant go in a grixis edh deck because it has a white mana symbol on it so you know.
You could always just fetch for any of the other duals like blood crypt, hallowed fountain, or stomping grounds
Or just dig for a tribe since I think all of them except the sultai one can get fetched by mesa
@@TokenWG the only deck I have it would go in is a wubrg deck and the boros colors are the least used in it too, unfortunately superfriends doesn't really need red or white planeswalkers or enchantments

Got mine for 20 CAD, not bad. Pulled another 20$ mythic and urza’s saga in the one pack I bought, pretty happy with how I did today

@@doopness785 Depends on the set. But a standard draft booster box from a distributor after all the fees is between $70-$80
Actually its better business sense for him and his lgs if they just let him open boxes for them on camera as long it nets value, keep cracking. Prof gets content and they get the cards back without paying an employee to crack boxes lol.
I honestly just assumed you'd keep any cards you want and sell the rest.

Assumption here but I believe he would buy the boxes with business money as this is a business expense and therefore would have to buy them from the business for personal use in order to keep personal and business assets separate.

Hey, this is a really random comment, but thanks for introducing me to Pauper all those years back. Been struggling finding fun in Magic recently and Pauper has been my way back into it.
If you’re looking to change things up even more, look into Pauper EDH. Similar to commander, but your commander is any uncommon creature (legendary or otherwise), leading a deck of 99 commons. Also 30 life, and 16 commander damage is lethal. /r/PauperEDH on reddit for more details.
I really enjoy this format, and I hope it becomes as popular as normal Pauper is.
I feel like Marsh Flats has its own rarity compared to the other fetches, lol
Depends. For me, it was verdant catacombs. I got a ton of those.
Our whole game shop seemed to pull a surplus of them!

This set is baller, and should be the design standard going forward. This set will pay for itself until the fetches drop in price.

I got really lucky a few months ago. I got a gift of a gift card to GameStop, and it was just enough for 1 MH2 pack, and 2 AFR packs. I pulled a verdant catacombs, and a Deck of Many things, my first fetch ever, and probably one of my favorite cards ever.
Huh, I already always assumed you "buy" cards from the pool that you want to keep.
Yeah, this doesn't really change anything for us viewers.
Of course he does, theres no way he actually ships a card he wants to buy himself ... he sells for cheapest price, so theres absolutely no point in selling it to begin with.

Keep in mind, the funds I spent was $275. I couldn't do this game if I didn't actually sell the cards.
I bought a set booster, it honestly seems like I should've gone for the draft booster.

Idk I just opened 4 set boosters and ended up with an esper sentinel scalding tarn, marsh flats and a Ragavan which is almost as much as people get in an entire box if unlucky

Honestly, until I found your channel, I had no idea that buying singles was more cost effective than cracking packs. I mean I played in middle school, so like 1996ish, had few resources then and not too much access to local game stores, then fell out of MTG by High School. Picked it up more recently and grabbed some boxes, just because cracking packs was fun.I honestly didn't realize all the resources out there or that you could construct decks online and then buy those cards specifically (lol, clearly I lived in a cave). Your videos have really helped me enjoy the MTG experience so much more (not just financial tips, but deck construction, and product reviews). So, I'm glad you remind us that buying singles can be a way to go. :) Thanks so much for your fantastic channel!

Happy to see the Prof do well in this challenge, but it breaks my heart that my box cost me like 50% extra in my country, and I barely cracked over $150 of value.

oh man each and every step of the way, " You got this Professor!" Happy you got one of each in the style needed, that onx you almost could have gotten two off of that was a ride.
As far as I pre-purchased my set booster box from my LGS, I loved pulling it with my brother because we wanted SO MANY different cards. We had a blast and pulled very well, I got a foil extended Coffers, we had five fetches(two tarns, no Flats), none of that is even the rest of the awesome rares and mythics, and the prerelease we participated in I had a HUGE blast playing Asmora/Cookbook/2 step through, with a white recursion package along with my discard stuff, and my brother pulled a foil Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth.
Do what you enjoy as a consumer and a player. We bought a couple singles, we traded some, and we bought one box and played one sealed. It's your game(except secret lair...)!
I love watching these professor! Keep um coming! Personally I play limited a bunch keep what I want and trade in what I don’t to my LGS. Opening sealed product w/out playing with the contents is sacrilege to me. :p

Since I'm new to MTG, buying a box makes some sense to me. I watch your booster box game videos to see if the value of a box is worth the chance of getting the most diverse and best cards from each set. Thank you for your videos that have helped me to get into this fun game!

I’d love to reiterate the statement at the end, they make a much better margin from singles and it’s a lot easier to move the sealed product of sets like this so if you really just want to buy something and can’t decide which of the two please do consider the singles you need and help your store keep things going :)

I always buy singles, I rarely if ever buy packs, glad to hear that it actually helps the game stores more to do so. I'm not sure how anyone can think that's the only thing the professor says on this channel, there's a lot of helpful information about cards and magic in general here.
great track : The last time I saw Uran Zorb, was around 10 years ago I think. It s cool that they brought it back. I always like it, when they resurrect some of the old cool cards. Can`t wait for the next historic anthology set.
