@@rtmadani I got the Exped and it really is the BEST but now I wanna get the long/wide version! The standard duo version is great for 1 person but definitely tight for 2.
Yeah, the long/wide is definitely the way to go for two. We used to have a smaller Exped for backpacking and it worked fine for that, but when we started car camping with our toddler, we definitely needed the extra 10 inches in width!

Obviously keen to find out if you’re having reservations about your IGT setup if you’re looking at the single action stuff. I’m part way into the IGT setup too and keen to hear your thoughts.
Honestly, it’s working out great for us right now as is. We definitely have more of a minimal IGT setup for three people, but with the sliding insert and an extra single action end table we’re able to make it work.
I’ve been on the fence about adding either the table extension or a single action low table mainly because it’s not 100% necessary for us yet. If we had two kids or maybe as our son gets a little older we may need to add one or the other. Also, I think the low height table with our chairs is too low to sit under, which may make it slightly more difficult with little kids since they’ll have to pick up their dish to eat. I’ve also considered the medium and large single action table and thought about adding the mesh bench, but then the table is slightly too high.
Would the next step up in leg height suit a snow peak or helinox chair for the youngster sliding underneath?
When I tried the 660mm sitting height leg set up in the store, which is also the same height as the medium and large single action tables, I felt it was perfect for the red chairs but too high for the folding bench. I haven’t seen this configuration with Helinox chairs but with the table being about 26in high and the red chairs sitting height at 18in from the ground, I would measure to make it’s close to that 8in difference for the kids. I think mine would fall out or maybe through the red chairs just because he rarely sits still. There’s a good picture someone posted on Snow Peaks website showing the Red Folding Bench and next height up with kids. You can see the littler ones have to go up on their knees to reach their food.
Avoid Helinox probably then. My kids manage to tip their Helinox chairs all the time. We have used the Chair One, Ground Chair and Beach Chair. All are stable unless you have wiggling children (like me and perhaps you). My latest purchase has been a DOD Good Rack sofa to try to squeeze them all into. I’m doubtful of finding it a good match for either the 400 or 660 IGT height and certainly haven’t put the thought into it like you have! I’ll take on board your thoughts about the eight inch gap.
That’s good to know! That DOD Good Rack Sofa looks awesome and is a great idea for all the kids! If I had a larger vehicle I’d probably get one as well. I really like how it also functions as a rack for storing gear!

That sale usually takes place in November. Right now, they have some decent deals on Expeds, but unfortunately no 20% on a full price item.

Thank you for pointing out at the beginning that you are not getting the 10% dividend back when buying sale items. For this reason Ive always felt this was kinda of a BS sale.
I would love for REI to change that in the future because not only do I see this as only 10% off I also feel REI is being a bit sneaky.
I agree! It would make sense for them to just give 10% on all purchases, especially since you will be spending that dividend on more things from REI. Whenever I shop at REI, I use my US Bank Cash + card which gives 5% back on all sporting good stores, which helps halfway with that! Thanks for watching!
