GameCube was a console I missed out on. Had a PS2 during that time and I was in the Navy living on a ship. Didn’t have the space or budget to have 2 systems. I’d love to see it come to NSO and I don’t mind paying for remasters of the bigger name titles
You probably missed out on TTYD and Twilight Princess (legend of zelda) . Those are great games. And I heard there was a star wars game that people loved.

And now Nintendos hardware is falling far behind Microsoft and Sony.. I still love the Nintendo Switch, but I'm hoping their next-gen console will catch up. Imagine playing Mario or Zelda games on 60fps 1440p. It will be amazing

I honestly think Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess will get the Remake/ remaster treatment. Wasn't that a GameCube game originally? I got it on Wii in 2006 when it was released on that console.

Why would Nintendo put them on Nintendo Switch Online when they could sell the games for like 40 or 50 bucks a piece like Metroid Prime or Pikmin. It makes no sense to only have them on NSO. I hope they don’t put them there either, but I don’t think they will.

I kinda hope the classic version of Super Mario RPG still gets added to NSO at some point. Love the remake but would be cool to experience the original experience too. Mario 64 got added to NSO despite it being added to the 3D All-Stars package so I'm hoping Mario RPG gets the same treatment.
It won't happen. RPG exists as a remake because that's what Square wants to do with its titles - Square was the one primarily involved with RPG and many of the characters are Square-owned. Square doesn't do the NSO period.

I think the GameCube games will be HD ports. They just need to do Twilight Princess, Windwaker, F-Zero GX, Metroid Prime 2&3, Luigi’s Mansion and Soul caliber 2 to get the ones I want.
I think DS makes sense next on NSO. Games such as Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart DS, Diddy Kong Racing DS, Mario party ds, Super Princess Peach, Mario v Donkey Kong 2 and Mini land mayhem, Mario and Luigi: Bowsers Inside story, Yoshis Island ds, Mario and Luigi partners in time, plenty of Pokémon games, all the professor Layton games.

twilight princess, pokemon coliseum, pokemon XD, star fox assault, billy hatcher, smash bros melee, custom robo and plenty more. those are titles i would love to see on switch and or remastered. They were huge when I was a kid and plenty fun for a room full of people.
LOTR two towers was a great button masher. Loved playing that game with my kids when they were younger.
Why would Nintendo add GameCube to online when they can just update the GFX of GameCube games and resell them on Switch for $40-60? I'd love it, but I'd say the fact they released remasters for Metroid Prime, Pikmin 1&2, and Thousand Year Door among others indicates to me that Nintendo sees GameCube games as too hot a commodity to add to online, and would rather capitalize via remaster ports.

I want a Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and OoT 3D, MM 3D remastered for the switch. Double dash would be insane be able to play online with 16 players like you could with multiple GameCubes. Four swords Adventure would be amazing to play without the need for the hardware setup. NSO GameCube games Wii games and if possible DS games would be huge. if the switch 2 had a mic to blow in the controller and a way to use a second screen we are golden.
Pretty sure the gamecube expansion won't happen till next generation console, which in turn I still believe March 2025 would be the good release date for that system. And gamecube expansion could happen somewhere down that line yeah.
I have a GameCube and have gone through 3 memory cards and it’s still all corrupting. Same 💩 happened when I was a kid and had a GameCube as well. I’m about to break down and buy a gaming computer and just emulate cause I’m sick of consoles not working or Nintendo not giving fans what they want.

I would really love to play Wario World. Had an Xbox and PS2 as a kid but missed out on Gamecube big time. I remember playing Wario Land on the gameboy and it was one of my favorite games.

Due to both filesize and Second Hand Market value, I don't see gamecube games making it to NSO. Even with a new console, they can make much more money via the HD re-release treatment. Prime 2-3, F-Zero, and the Zeldas over the next couple years I think are a given. Eternal Darkness, and Rogue Leader would do well too.
I also won't be surprised if we see more 3DS remakes similar to what they are doing with Luigi mansion darl moon

Gamecube is not the next logical console. The next logical console based on the history of the virtual console would be the Nintendo DS.

Only when you’re taking about the Wii U which had a touch screen controller. I’m not saying Nintendo can’t solve for the problem of not having a touch screen when docked for the switch but it is a hurdle.
@@SunbroNation there will probably not be any new consoles released on the online service until the successor to switch comes out. Either the games for the ds will be modified for having no dual screen or the successor will have a dual screen option.
So far we have seen nintendo stay mostly consistent with past virtual console releases. There have not been many games released on the service that were not also released on the virtual console. And as far as future roadmaps for the consoles already on the service we can have a rough idea what will be released based on the past virtual console titles.

All i want is to one day play Pokemon XD Gales of Darkness as well as Pokemon Colloseum. Never got the chance to play them, but they always looked so interesting to me.
I would like to see the GameCube Library being on the Nintendo Switch because I haven't played Kirby Air Ride or the four Mario Party Games which Mario Party 4, 5, 6, and 7 and the GameCube that I wish would be remastered on the Switch would be Kirby Air Ride and also for the roster adding characters from both the Kirby Games and the Kirby Anime if they ever do it so yeah hopefully we'll see what happens.

According to the "fandom" wiki, the Gamecube ports were released in Nov 2023.. However, I cannot find *any* legitimate sources for this, nor is it on the store itself
It's possible Sunbro this switch 2 is not ready yet and Nintendo is giving us the GameCube games for the Nintendo switch online service plus ➕ expansion pack for the current switch consoles already on the market for 2024 instead. If this happens next year. This is possible. Just a thought Sunbro.

I wan't Nintendo Gamecube to Nintendo Switch Online but for example games like Paper Mario Thousand Year Door remake is coming and Super Mario Sunshine is in Super Mario 3D All stars collection what was originally Nintendo Gamecube game so I believe Nintendo will do more remakes of old Gamecube games like The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, Mario Kart Double Dash and Pokémon games like Pokémon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness. These games will be coming on remake ports, BUT it would be AWESOME if Nintendo Gamecube will be coming to Nintendo Switch online, it would be MUCH easier for Nintendo. These are my opinions and thoughts of Nintendo Gamecube what might be coming in next YEAR 2024, CAN'T WAIT! As a MEMBER of Nintendo Switch Online, it's so AMAZING to be one in 38 Millions. 😮😊

That approach does makes sense, remaster all the major titles then eventually add the rest to the service. I’m still hoping to see remasters of Luigi’s Mansion, Metroid Prime 2 and Zelda. Non fist party Nintendo: Sonic Adventure 1+2, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2+3 and Simpsons Hit and Run / Road rage
🤞 Fingers are crossed game cube comes to the switch as the final console round to the current switch. It's a beloved console many want with really good games like Metroid Prime 1, Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion 1, Lord of the rings the Hobbit, Resident evil and of course the Wind waker, maybe Twilight Princess. I don't see a Gamecube Switch Online app happening. Say 50 N64 games would take up at the very most 3GB, whereas 50 Gamecube games would take 70GB. Your best hope for this kind of app to happen is via Cloud streaming.

Although I would love to see the GameCube library finally included into NSO, I think 2025 would be the earliest IMO. There are still at least 10-15 titles across the N64, GBA & Genesis platforms left to be added to the Expansion Pack that Nintendo could drip feed throughout 2024 (with a new roadmap most likely announced at the upcoming February Direct), in addition to several other GCN titles that have the potential to receive the remaster/remake treatment similar to Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime Remastered, Pikmin 1 & 2 HD, and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

Nintendo obviously won't bring GC games to NSO. We're in the Switch's twilight years, it would make no sense (unless the next system was just a major upgrade to the Switch, which would be immeasurably disappointing).

Without a SECOND thought Star Fox Assault for a remake or at the very least a remaster. I don't want that game to be put on to an online service where a bunch of other games distract people and prevent people from playing it. Star Fox Assault getting a remake would not only give this game a redo but the series itself. Star Fox Assault is a mission base game with TPS gameplay that was unfortunately held back by the console it was on as well as being made in an era when tps controls hasn't been solidified yet. Give it 10 more missions that differ from the others, add that co op mode, and take its awsome multiplayer and make it online.
With bandai namco working on a remaster remake of a nintendo 3d action game I hope it's this game. (Namco developed the game before the merger).

The games from GameCube I'm hoping to see come to the Switch the most are _Mario Kart: Double Dash!!_ and _Mario Party 4_ to _7_ mainly to have more variety to play online. Me and my family like to play games from time to time but are kinda far apart, so we have Nintendo Switch Online to play certain games online like _Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Party_ and _Mario Party Superstars._
Some other games I'd also like to see come to the Switch include _Super Mario Sunshine_ (either as a standalone remaster or added to the hypothetical NSO emulator for the GameCube since we got _Super Mario 64_ to the N64 in the Expansion Pack), _Luigi's Mansion,_ the original _Animal Crossing, Wario World,_ and _Ed, Edd N Eddy: the Mis-Edventures_ (just added that one in since that was my all-time favorite show on Cartoon Network).

The mis-edventures was so good! I remember playing that game on the PS2, one of my childhood favorites. Never had a Gamecube as a kid, but I would love to go through the classic catalogue. Especially Wario World, I wanted that game so bad. (Played Wario Land on gameboy, and Wario has been my favorite Nintendo character ever since.)

i find it incredibly stupid that not only do you need a sub but you also need to pay more for an "expansion pack" for games people already bought back when they were new... how many times do they need to make money off of literally the same exact game?
I want gc on switch nso purely for the fact that we would probably also finally get official wireless gamecube controller for switch (just like there are snes and n64 controllers that came with snes and n64 online). While you can technically use original gamecube controller on switch but that requires adapter which is extra accessory and extra cables which makes it less travel friendly and gamecube is missing some buttons and while there are third party gamecube controllers they simply arent as good at the official one.

I hope when the new Switch comes out in the first quarter of 2024 that NSO will continue. If it does, then I don't think that the GameCube for NSO will be coming out on the current system. Nintendo will wait to launch GameCube NSO on the new Switch.
