Harry and Dom are so pure 🥹 This whole video was wonderfully positive and just a genuine reminder that you can enjoy yourself being alone whilst discovering new things ❤️ Appreciate the video Taz!
i love how you went to my hometown and were confused. the big empty "main street" is called Alter Platz (Old Quater) and its empty as soon as the shops close at 6pm. people actually go out to drink alcohol but most bars are in a different street not too far off from Alter Platz. but most go out on friday or saturday. so happy, that you enjoyed your stay!
howd you feel comfortable enough not only going out with a guy you JUST met but also his friend (who youve NEVER met) and also, in a country that you know nothing about and also, in THEIR car? i legit would freak out so much on even one of those points let alone all of them!! you are so amazing
This may be the BEST video you have ever posted. It is so special and wholesome to see you so confident and comfortable. You have grown so much, and I am so lucky to have grown up alongside you. Love you forever, Taz.
You should visit Klagenfurt in summer. In winter many people don't want to leave their house. In summer there are more events and you can also see how beautiful the lake is.
It's awesome that you did this and had such a good expeience! I'm such a shy person irl but when I went solo travelling I found it way easier to talk to random people and hang out with strangers. Maybe because there's no pressure to be who you are at home? idk but great vid ❤
It was awesome seeing you in Klagenfurt so unexpectedly, I visited in the summer and then these same empty streets are so busy with people, and the lake too! Klagenfurt is very much a summer tourist spot, but it was magical seeing it all snowy! Great choice, next time come visit another Austrian town, Graz, it's also very charming. Would love to show you around!
As someone who lives in lower austria and has been to klagenfurt two years ago, I must say, you did amazingly, taz. A little tip, klagenfurt and the lake is best in summer time and there are more people on the streets. I was very surprised to see the streets so empty bc normally they aren’t THIS empty lmao.
I had the same feeling when I was in July in Klagenfurt- ghost town . After 19,00 the town is " dead".Hotels and food are the worst. But all the small towns from around the lake Woerthersee are beautiful and full of life.( Poertschach ,Velden etc )
You are just an amazing storyteller. Loved watching your travels and the people you met while exploring a completely new destination. More of these please, far too good!!
So cool that you ended up in Austria! I’ve actually been to Klagenfurt as well, but in the summer…definitely gotta return in the winter now after seeing your video! Regarding the Sunday situation: I don’t exactly know how they handle it in Austria, but for us in Germany, Sunday is seen as a rest day, so most places like stores etc. are closed. And people usually stay inside because they sleep for longer and just hang out with family. I would assume that it is similar in Austria, since our two countries are very similar - but not exactly the same 😂 Love your videos as always
This was such a pleasure to watch. One of my goals this year is to venture out of my comfort zone and take myself out on self-dates, Taz continues to inspire me to lean into spontaneity from time to time.
Am i the only one who was worried sick because she went alone with 2 random guys in a car, somewhere where she wasnt familiar?? This being random and adventurous is fun and all, but please, at least be safe a little bit.
Agreed, that worried me. Definitely not something I would do. Maybe if I had a friend with me but even then it’s still a massive risk. Just glad it worked out okay 😅
About that Krapfen / donut with apricot: it is a (mostly) seasonal item heavily consumed at the beginning of the year because of Fasching, also called the fifth season, where people dress up, drink, eat and celebrate the absurdity of life ending on Aschermittwoch / ash wednesday. There is an eating "ettiquette" many locals recommend: look for the tiny hole on the side, and you'll get the most of the filling with every bite.
Hi, Austrian here! Love that you enjoy our country so far! The guy at the ski rental said something about the weight of the ski and yor fist ones were quite short, they are typically used for slalom. Shops are generally closed on Sunday to give all the staff a day off and it‘s just the right season for the apricot “buns” (Marillenkrapfen) which are mostly eaten in carnival (Fasching). Next time come to Tyrol, not as many lakes here but the mountains arguably are higher xD
Omg I'm so happy for you to do all this on a solo trip. Wow, so cool, 2 new friends who are genuine and kind and had a blast with you. Hope to see a part 2 of this trip to reunite with them sometime in the future 💛
Solo travelling is honestly the best!! You get to do things at your own pace and you learn so much more about yourself!! Love love love this! Also the thing you said about eating at places by yourself in a country overseas and not feeling awkward as opposed to feeling that when in your home country is super relateable I think it's just that notion/belief that when you eat out it should always be with someone else or meeting up in a group or something when in reality it's completely ok to eat out by yourself if you want to!! It's no one's right to judge you if you do! And ever since doing that by myself when I travelled solo overseas I've taken back home with me that habit to go eat out on my own now and then and I honestly feel more comfortable doing things solo/in my own company than with others sometimes :)
I love how shocked u were about the empty streets and closed supermarkets on sundays, lmao here in Switzerland that’s exactly the same case. Sundays are off days lmao
Most of us are on the mountains on sunday 😉 especially when it has that amount of snow! You should visit Klagenfurt in summertime as well! Completely different. I would say it is the summer hotspot in Austria.
Glad you had a good time! You should go back to Klagenfurt in the summer, it’s so different! The city is much livelier and the lake is super nice for swimming. Another beautiful lake in the area is Lake Faak - it’s turquoise
i’ve missed watching your vlogs and hearing you talk, sharing your thoughts and immediate reaction to this experience is just warminggg. it warms my heart 🥺💖
Please make this a series where you just pick random places to travel to! Always stay safe though I worry about you on your own ❤ if you are ever in Utah we will certainly show you the sights! Haha I love that there was a spar there!
6:48 Being able to put yourself in situations without all the answers and figure your way through it is a strength. Adaptability and problem-solving are important. Back before the days of smartphones and driving directions, if my dad was in a new city he would just get lost. Sometimes on purpose. Then he would figure his way out of it and come out of the experience at least knowing some of the layout of that city better. He was always the one people came to for help and answers, because he was so self-reliant. Challenging yourself that way is overall a good thing. As long as you're not putting yourself in a lot of danger or something.
I loved traveling solo! I found the same things - a lot of my insecurities went away and I tried a lot of stuff. I wish I had a chance to do it more pre-2020 and I wish there were $10 tickets available now 😂
Somehow, I remembered the first time it snowed in US when I came here from Saudi Arabia I just took my coat and went out in the snow. I was walking and walking and walking for three hours and that was very calming and peaceful and I can’t describe it well enough, how just when I think of that moment now I just feel the calm and feel the peace. It was really therapeutic. For me, this weather that you have been there in Austria, it was the perfect weather for me because somehow I like the cold , but I cannot imagine how that would be so surprising to land there and boom. It’s snowing it’s Wild.
As a Canadian when I was a kid we use to take the tree branches and shake them when someone was under it in the winter time and that's how you would win a snow ball fight 🤣
Austria is great, and Klagenfurt is lovely. Also people are nicer than in Vienna. And yes, if you come to Austria, Switzerland or Germany be prepared for Sundays, almost eerything closes, but tbh is nice once you get use to it
I've never seen your videos before (a friend sent it to me) but I found it very funny to watch, because I am from Austria and lived in Klagenfurt for a while. It was really cool seeing all the things from your perspective. Here it's totally normal to find no one out on the streets during the night in Winter, especially on Weekends 😂 maybe someone walking their dog, but that's it. Great Video really!
Can I be a bit honest? As a random vacation, this works well for a vlog, but not as an IRL experience. I mean, nothing to do over the weekend, freezing cold, nothing open, Mcd as my only food spot...it would suck as an experience. The snow and the winter is very camera-friendly, though, no doubt.
You will remember these things for the rest of your life! Even when (if) you'll have a family and kids. I am so happy you get to experience life like this ❤ please stay safe wherever you go! ❤❤❤
Oh my god, I'm from Klagenfurt. It's crazy to watch this video. Yeah, it's a small city - altough the capital of Carinthia... but you are right, Klagenfurt on Sundays is quite a ghosttown. And I'm sad, you visited my hometown on a week with haevy snowfall, so you couldn't experiance the beauty of the Wörthersee (the lake). You have to return in the summer. There is so much you can do in Carinthia during summer... It's really lovely!
We have a saying here in germany that goes like "to flip up the sidewalks", which is exactly what you've experienced: Shops closed, quietness and empty streets - especially on sundays. It never occured to me that that might be strange to a foreigner😅 but it depends on the size of the city, in bigger places there actually is life on weekends ;)
Wow Taz, I hope you look at this and reflex just how far you have come from the scared girl in Wales. Sunday used to be like that here; you are too young to remember. Looking forward to the next adventure.
I didn't know you before. Just heard about your visit and...yeah, I think a pity that I didn't met you. I mean I am no influencer but I enjoyed your childish smile for the Winter Wonderland..wish more people around here could see Klagenfurt as you did 🥰 Thank u for sharing your trip. Greetings from Carinthia 😊
Great video Taz, is shows just putting yourself out there and doing things like this how rewarding it can really be. The adventures you experience will be with you forever! Looking forward to what is next for you!
We have Sunday trading hrs in the UK and most shops don't open until 9/10am and then close between 4/5 pm so I am suprised with how shocked Taz was with how empty the streets were on a Sunday🤣
as a person from austria I just loved this whole video sooo much🤣 and yes...sunday literaly is a very closed day😅 if you want to visit austria again come to salzburg - you will love it🙊
Honestly I wish I was able to travel alone, I was meant to fly up to Glasgow this morning but had a panic attack last night and cancelled last minute, I upset my friend but she understands
Give yourself a break. You got as far as all the arrangements. That’s not easy in itself. Maybe do a practice chunk. Things to try: The journey to the airport. The journey to the train station. If you could get there by train you could even practice going part way. Staying in a cheap place away from home but close by over night. Invite your friend down to stay with you. Rent a car and drive part way to meet up. Etc. work with your friend to identify some things you could practice that can get you closer to success on this trip. For each practice project you can plan out different things that might go awry and think about both how you might avoid them happening, how you might lessen the impact, how you might solve the problem. For example, if you have a worry about a missed train connection then could leave a very long time between connections, be very familiar with what the next trains are, bus alternatives, taxi numbers, carry enough money, have an unrestricted ticket etc. If your friend is busier being offended than trying to help you make progress on this perhaps visit the city but not bother telling them! Life is full of challenges, just because we find something hard doesn’t mean it will go away. But many of them we can overcome if take it a chunk at a time, find what works for us and occasionally have a bit of hand holding when we need it. Take it from an old crone, the sense of achievement is very satisfying.
Hey I hope you’re okay and not being too hard on yourself. I have anxiety and used to travel alone easily but now it’s basically impossible and I’ve had to let down friends and family a lot. You aren’t alone!
This is a magical video. I just wanted to step into the screen. I want to travel more.. but if I did that I'd get there and my wheelchair would be stuck in the first minute and I'd have a break down. But that is so so magical and I wish I could experience that! I hope you've now made friends for life! They seem so lovely. It would have been amazing if they could have filmed you doing spoken word by the lake. That would have been so breath taking!! Xx
I LOVED this, made me wanna do it so badly. Please do more of this, i would love to watch you travel to a bunch of places andjust do u, u look so happy and fun.
Being from Estonia, i really hoped i could see a warmer climate, but nope we have the same snowy and cold weather in Estonia. But the video was still so fun to watch.
I love watching your videos but this one made me specifically happy! I recognised where you were before the town name showed up on the screen! While I’m from Germany originally and now live in London, I did my Masters in Klagenfurt! As a person who can’t ski the winters were always a bit grim, I would definitely recommend coming back in summer! The lake in Klagenfurt (and the ones in the surrounding areas) are just so beautiful and it’s so nice and warm. Italy and Slovenia are so close too and there are great places to hike!
Is really amazing what you just did, I don't really know why people don't go on adventures just like that. We just dream of going on all those expensive places, and eventually, we end up going nowhere. So why we don't just pack our bags and go on a random trip, even for a few days, enjoying the places and live in a fairytale. Just leave everything behind. I spent 4 days in Paris with just 100£, was amazing 🤩🤩 You will be amazed how cheap some wanderful places can be to go and have a great time.
I watch too much true crime to not be stressed af for her during the entire video xD But I was constantly reminding myself that if she got to upload the video, then she made it out ok.
Don't worry, it's really very safe there. The whole state has about 3 murders and 30 robberies per year. Practically no one there thinks about crime or security because it is safe everywhere and always anyway.
I feel like people really underappreciate travelling in wintery periods because summer's the most popular time for that sort of thing. But i honestly think people should be more open for wintery travelling. I've always wanted to, but I'm too broke to pay for it 🥲 so the only times i can travel is spring with someone else's money. But hopefully, one day, i can work hard, make a decent income, and have the dream winter wonderland aesthetic vacation I've been waiting for!
YOU WERE IN KLAGENFURT OF ALL PLACES????? THAT'S LIKE AN HOUR FROM MY HOMETOWN OMFG Could've shown you around hahah and yep, most things - especially shops - are closed on Sundays in Austria. Glad you had a good time here ❤
This is something I've been wanting to do but in the UK as I don't own a passport. Just book a random train journey or two to somewhere, book a hotel for the night and go explore whatever that town/city has to offer
I would love to travel solo but the amount of situations i hear about woman who get in dangerous situations ive very disheartening and it makes me scared...
I wish i had your courage :) I have travelled by myself 2 times in my 35 years of living and i was absolutely panicking the whole time :P But one day i will do it again!
The part where she walks to the lake by herself in the snow was powerful to watch, Taz has evolved so much with her confidence.
1. I like how spontaneous you are and can connect to strangers easily
2. Still please keep yourself safe when going with 2 strangers you just met
@imadahfataar4652 I did go on a trip alone when I was 17 and unfortunately it didn't go as nicely as it did for Taz
@Imadah Fataar nope. Not brave. Just impulsive and irrational. I love her, but that was not the best message to deliver to her audience (of children).
Going with strangers in Austria is very safe and not Dangerous, Austria is a safe country
@@Solyom-cq5vk I am sorry I have to disagree, Natascha Kampusch was kidnapped in Austria by an Austrian.

I absolutely agree. ✨

KLAGENFURT IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT
what ski resort did she go to?
Now that was a true adventure. The snow was magical there. That place looked, like it felt like Christmas every day. Great pick, Taz.
howd you feel comfortable enough not only going out with a guy you JUST met but also his friend (who youve NEVER met) and also, in a country that you know nothing about and also, in THEIR car? i legit would freak out so much on even one of those points let alone all of them!! you are so amazing

Sameeee, just thinking about every scary movie about being alone. BE CAREFUL TAZ x
No. Because it's obvious they were not random strangers.
@carpediem4226 yep. But I don't believe it. No-one would be that daft to tag along with 2 complete strangers. They're subscribers
Yeah but YOLO
How utterly random. How utterly Taz. We could all be a little more Taz and all reach out and be welcoming more like Harry and Dom. Loved this 🙂
I’m so proud of you taz … your growing as individual day by day ..

She: "It is like winter wunderland"
People from Klagenfurt: "Ned schon wida Schnee🤮" ("Not again snow🤮")
Okay but a car with two strange men? NEVER. That's insanity.
Yes that worried me slightly.

Taz has grown so much since the first time I watched her when she just moved out on her own ...I clearly remember the red bts squishy thing 😊
you should visit klagenfurt in summer - completely differnt - blue lake, thousands of people and phantastic nature
So close! Next time do visit Vienna!! Lots more to see and do in austria... Food and more. Glad to see the bold traveling moves!! ✌️✌️
Hauptbahnhof Billa am Sonntag kickt anders
dei mama kickt anders sonntags
This is a magical video. I just wanted to step into the screen. I want to travel more.. but if I did that I'd get there and my wheelchair would be stuck in the first minute and I'd have a break down. But that is so so magical and I wish I could experience that! I hope you've now made friends for life! They seem so lovely. It would have been amazing if they could have filmed you doing spoken word by the lake. That would have been so breath taking!! Xx
I love your zest for adventure! You’re very inspiring . Awesome vlog, I could feel the chilly air & the snow as well ❄️❄️
I LOVED this, made me wanna do it so badly. Please do more of this, i would love to watch you travel to a bunch of places andjust do u, u look so happy and fun.
how wonderful that you did this very brave...wishing I could get some of that snow you had....
This might me one of my favourite videos of yours
This was such a great video idea. You are awesome and brave. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Love ur solo travel vlogs taz! It makes me want to solo travel so bad!
This is what I needed today… thank you ❤
Is really amazing what you just did, I don't really know why people don't go on adventures just like that.
This is one of her best videos i really enjoyed it
I watch too much true crime to not be stressed af for her during the entire video xD But I was constantly reminding myself that if she got to upload the video, then she made it out ok.
Thank you taz you always inspire me to go out of my confort zone ❤
i love how wholesome taz's videos are
This is so sweet i was literally stressed but u helped calm me down 😭
Even the cheap flight is empty! Wow!
YOU WERE IN KLAGENFURT OF ALL PLACES????? THAT'S LIKE AN HOUR FROM MY HOMETOWN OMFG
Could've shown you around hahah and yep, most things - especially shops - are closed on Sundays in Austria.
Glad you had a good time here ❤
Is no one talking about how she was talking about the meeting your love in an airport and then bam she meets Harry?
Great to see my Hometown getting some attention😂
dei mama will get some great attention soon..
I would love to go here especially walking at night when no ones around!!
6:52 that voiceover speaks volumes of the audi as well 😂
I wish i had your courage :) I have travelled by myself 2 times in my 35 years of living and i was absolutely panicking the whole time :P But one day i will do it again!
Klagenfurt ist traumhaft schön. Und im winter braucht man sich nicht wundern, dass auf den straßen nichts los ist :)
Yay! I’ve been waiting for another Taz travel video!
