I'm liking the 3/8" push connectors for this.. cut apart to pressure test, if you have to put it back together after testing just pull off push on and join back up. I had to cut a refer linset on every drop for a multi box, multi evap system to find a leak, had to braze 8 test ports in attic to test down drops to boxes, this would been easier. Nice idea!
I tried to get a new barrel on an F231-18i2, and Stoelting said no way. I've never tried to change out one before. Would love to see a video on the process if that does end up being the route they decide to go. Thanks for sharing.
If it's a brand new unit, the factory should replace it, and pay your call out fee. They are making coils cheaper and cheaper. This is a start to what's coming.
i had a situation similar to this. Manufacturer wanted me to replace the Top of a Prep table in the field. i said no thank you. i'm not doing it. They sent out a new Prep. table. Just tell them to send out a New unit.

That expanding foam will set off the leak detector
But, you can see there’s a leak in the isolation test

You will need to replace the hoppers and cylinders as a complete assembly.

You said easy, where is the leak? What makes this job so easy? Especially for a warranty call, where time is ticking.
What did the factory say?
They said “isolate the evap and prove the leak”. Now I submit my finding report and that’s that. What happens next 🤷🏻♂️
