I’m the guy in the chat who got the Silver Slugger “relic.” I will say though that my Hobby box was way better than that one: I got an Acuña HFA out of it too. So I didn’t feel robbed like that box would make anyone feel.
I got one in my jumbo. Pulled a volpe auto in the mojo pack tho

My One Hobby box was a dud with a relic of a very unknown player and literally nothing else. I’ve had much better results with hangers and the two fanatics blaster I bought.

I’ve watched several hanger cases and they seem to be 1-3 per hanger case. Not sure of blasters or monster boxes, but I think they’re a little more available than a heavy lumber or HFA in retail (from what I’ve seen)
I did pull a Merrill SP out of a Hanger. My Hangers have been crazy good so far. My one Hobby box had good hits of the wrong players. I got an Adley Silver Slugger out of the Hobby, but at least it was #'d.
I am Hangers all day as long as I can get them.
What is that Manny material from. They don’t have any all white uniform chunks. Is that from his briefs or undershirt? I wonder if the material isn’t necessarily from that player
The hanger boxes have been absolute bangers for Series 2. Found a Royal Blue Foil Ohtani /999 out of my first box and sold it for $50 Canadian.
i'm new to collecting baseball cards and thank you for all the information about what I should buy and what I shouldn't, I was going to get 2 blaster boxes but got a fanatics box and some hangars instead. thanks for the help

my hobby had two Autos! and 4 numbered cards
i opened a hobby box and got a frank thomas auto and jasson dominguez hfa. my 3 fanatics boxes didn't have anything to write home about.
Yeah, first hobby I opened was a Silver Slugger "relic." Did pull an Independence Day and Father's Day, plus an unnumbered insert parallel, so I kinda felt like it was a solid box even with the pseudo-relic. Next two hobbies were real relics, but less generous on the numbered cards and kinda felt like bare minimum hobby output. Which kinda goes with my gut reaction: en mass hobby is probably the best format, but it's a very variable experience with a handful of loaded boxes but a lot of desert boxes. Release day Jumbo prices feel like the better option to me, although that price has risen enough that I wouldn't buy a jumbo.
I kinda think hangers are the best, tbh. Sure, there are hangers with not much to speak of, but hangers are cheap enough (compared to hobby) that a bust hanger doesn't feel as bad. But I also think hangers are going to be hard to find in stores; people who hit up restock day will get the hangers, the rest of us will cry as we crack Walmart blasters for a retail blue, foil, the three holiday inserts, and maybe a gold lol.
These will be like the four fanatics boxes I have waiting for me at home. Trust me

Pulled a Steven Kwan auto black /199 and also pulled a clear acetate /10 Ohtani out of my first hobby box I ordered….Plus 2 more numbered parallel. Should I grade the Clear card and hold????
Ironically, that red Gunnar may have been close to making the money back on that box, just got blasted by the hangers, and some not great Fanatics blasters, though PCA parallels... Nice demonstration!
I finally got to rip some series 2 - went with 5 hangers: 4 numbered + 1 SP of Wyatt. Also, I got the Wemby base.

Stryker!! Rip some mega boxes. I grabbed the only one my Walmart had and in the same box pulled. Heston stars auto /199. Goldschmidt Relic Gold /50 89 design, and a Yamamoto 89 foil parallel. The 89 foil parallels look amazing 👍👍

I've been lucking out with hanger boxes in phx as far as availability. Walmart, target and best buy have been loaded with them.

Yeah, meijer is always pretty expensive for wax. Often the only thing you want from them is the blisters with the purples.
Hey Stryker, there are hangers on the Target website but they limit. They have been hitting Targets this week. They are probably the best format.

For retail, Hangers and Megas are the only way I go now. Most consistence the last 3 years. Love the video and comparison.
I've bought two Hobby boxes. They were both absolute duds of a box. I'm sticking with hanger and fanatics boxes from now on.

Snagged 3 Hangers from Best Buy yesterday and they were pretty dry. My hobby box was decent. Im probably going to give hangers another shot because they did treat me well for Series 1.
My best buy hanger was weak af too. Target and Walmart have been where it's at.

Stryker i have a question, i live in The Netherlands and its all really expensive over here with the taxes and stuff. is it better to buy : 2024 Topps Series 2 Baseball 7-Pack Blaster for 30 euro or a 2024 series 2 hobby box for 160 euro? i really think its a bit expensive what are your thoughts? i hope u can help. best regards! :) ( im a new collector )

Have you ever gotten near identical boxes? i opened two fanatics boxes and pulled 12 duplicate aqua para's it was almost a 1:1 box vs box.. was incredibly frustrating

I pulled a /799 Javy Baez and a yamamoto RC,
Then I discovered the Gunnar auto /199 color match 😳
Surprisingly, it had a rc logo.
The sad part is, I know it will never get better.
Is there no SP's in hangers? It seems that you flew through the base cards in the hangers....hope you didn't miss any, if they come in those boxes..... good break though!
I ripped my first 3 Fanatics today. The only really good hit was a Kyle Nicolas golden mirror. Two crap numbered cards but at least I got Aquas of Masyn Wynn and Junior Caminero.
Pretty damn barren otherwise - JP Martinez the only other Aqua rookie.

Is that jackson wolf an error card? No pirates players should be wearing the number 21. They retired the number for Clemente
Some people say it was a gimmick night where everyone wore one players number. Some say it's photo shopped
Saw an article about it. It is a photo shop job. And yes, bad choice for the number.

Fanatics Series One blasters were so bad for me I will never order from Fanatics again. Sticking to the cards in the wild.

How do you tell the short prints. I see pulls but can’t tell the difference.
Easy way is to look at the serial number on the bottom of the base cards. The last 3 digits 173 are normal. If it's anything else you might have a short print.

@@nategarcia7694 I usually think the same exact thing when I see posts like that I almost didn’t send it lol. Ya it was a week, people said the missing auto means it wasn’t supposed to be autographed at all but it has the congratulations on the back so I sent it in…we’ll see what happens

I do love this stuff but I do not like when you go too fast. When you go too fast I can't enjoy it as much. I know that you're trying to figure out some things. However it's much better for me to be able to watch you take your time even though you might have gone through it already a lot. I love watching everyone opening it
