    would be nice to see an updated version of this with twin blades or harden steel.

    • @AnalogDude_
      @AnalogDude_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      lawnmower blades aren't hardened, they would shatter if you hit a stone and maybe injure you, just the edge needs a treatment (like a Japanese katana blade) and also a slight thicker steel blade to have some more mass/force. also like they said, video made in 2019, next week they probably try to drive a car bottle caps instead of tyres.

    Stronger / thicker metal with a sharper edge on the blades and it'll be Moor then 107% 👌👌 keep up the good work lads 😎

    Actually this could be a good idea, practically you could get a diff and set it up on a trailer that you could tow with a vehicle that would be a good budget solution

    • @TheHungrySlug
      @TheHungrySlug 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have actually seen that exact thing done. Tires were half filled with water to help with traction as well as a couple of drums filled with water added on top to help keep the wheels in ground contact.
      It only used 1 diff though. I really like the idea of a second diff like these guys did.
      I happen to have a solid diff that I am saving for this exact reason too.

      I know at least 1 farmer who has done it, had like a 5:1 ratio or something like that. Tows it behind the tractor on a trailer, and uses it for clearing brush.

      @GGALLIN1776 that's how they work. at speed they stick straight out and cut. if they encounter resistance they bend back and slip past allowing for the next blade to take a wack at it. if they are ridged then if they hit resistance they can bend

    You can really see the excitement of Vlad on this video. 😄 It was a joy to see Vlad so excited about the experiement.😄 Next thing would be to make those blades out of thicker harder material and connect the rear drive shaft back to the welded differential so you would get the 4 wheel drive back AND still have the cutting blade under. 😄 That would be 110% success for sure!

    So the coupling on the front of the diff could facilitate Another drive shaft and another diff couldn't it? Sure might add more stress on the original diff because now it will drive 2x lawn mower assemblys but then you'd have a fantastic cut. Might need a longer 4x4 car though to fit the second blades etc. Then it would be worth while towing a rake to gather the hay. Thanks for the vid from Australia!

I say put another diff on the back of the transmission and use a two-blade system. The first takes down the tall grass and the second gives the buzz cut for a finished look.

    This got me wondering how well it might work to sharpen the leading edge of the propellers on a helicopter and fly it up-side-down, hovering close to the ground.
    Depending upon the model of helicopter used, this may provide a slightly wider mowing path, reducing the time spent in mowing.
    This may require advanced piloting skills, but maybe not - maybe it would be easy!
    Less time spent mowing = more time spent burping, scratching and beer-drinking.
