I smashed open a typical ATO fuse and jammed the blade in between what was left of the blade and the nylon edge - it's in there real tight. I'm gonna order replacement motors anyhow.

One wheel turns at high speed only. Stuck wheel is easier to turn manually like yours in video. Stuck wheel motor connection is solid. Must be switch? Should I try to test the motor somehow first?
I just fixed my tabs thanks to this video! I purchased a remote car and the axle was to short. Any suggestions besides taking it back? I contacted the company and they said they don't sell replacement parts

I have a power wheels Jeep Hurricane and only getting the rear passenger wheel to spin in high gear.. checked the motors-both are firmly connected to the wiring....Could it really just be the gear shifter? Just wondering if my son was jamming and pushing on it too hard...Pulled and checked those connections too, and they aren't dirty or anything. Could be an easy fix but if THAT doesn't work, IDK...thanks for any help
It's not the connection of the shifter it's the contacts inside the switches that need cleaned. Easy to check ohm resistance with a volt meter to locate a bad switch contact

Replaced the motors and wiring harness and it did the trick. One motor was burnt out. Appreciate the video and tips-definitely label the wires! 5yr old was up and running once the harness showed up 2 MOS later now.
I check both the motors wiring is fine. One wheel spins and other doesnt. The other spins a little and then stops and smoke comes out and even the wire get hot on that side
I’ve got a dune racer that won’t work. Bought a new battery, charger, pedal switch and shifter switch. Any other ideas? When I push the pedal, I hear a click, but nothing happens. There is a second click 5 seconds later. I checked all the connections. No corrosion.

@@CustomKidzCars found out the pedal switch was stuck. Tried to loosen it but not sure why it kept getting stuck after temporarily fixing it. Now it just accelerates on its own when in forward or reverse.
I wired a 18v milwaukee battery but was dumb and didn't upgrade the motor and now there's no power to the motor.... pedal and controller but everything else works. So I bought 24v motors. Hooked them up and they still don't have power to them. What do you think it could be
We have a Lightning McQueen Power Wheels car. I put a new battery in and it still won’t go. I troubleshooted all the wiring and for some reason when the motor is connected, the voltage disappears at the motor connection. I get 6+ volts at the wiring side motor connection and the motor works when connected separately to the battery. But when the whole system is connected, the voltage is getting eaten up somewhere. Hi, great video but I need some further help. Everything works on my kid's Dune Racer except when he is in it, it will stutter, like go and stop intermittently when the pedal is pressed. It doesn't do that if the back is lifted up and I'm just pressing the switch. Background: I had added another 12 V battery to make it 24. Used cheap wire from Amazon. The connections are secure but maybe the wire is no good? Or maybe it is just the switch?
I have a question about the gearbox and pinion size you can use. I have the Escalade model with the 15 16 17 gear box. Does that mean I can use any one of those pinions or do I have to just use the 16 tooth pinion?

We replaced both the motor and gearbox assembly in my nephews 12 volt fire truck and once we put it back together one wheel went forwards and the other one is spinning backwards, can you offer any advice to fix this (is there separate motors for left and right side)?

Pretty vague details and steering wheel would not be related to electrical. Check connections, verify battery voltage of around 13 volts and use volt meter directly on motor leads or test motors directly with a power source.

Sounds like bad battery. Check with voltage meter under load. Full battery is 13.2 volts. When u press the gas pedal and the volts drop off your battery is trash.
Yes it can be the battery. Especially if it's a small ah pack. We only use 12ah packs. Tool batteries are not designed to run dual motors so I bet you have major voltage sag.
CKC Garage thank you! I figured out it’s the starter button harness. One of the connections is loose, and the fuse connected to the battery gets too hot, as well. It’s not even a year old. 😏

Hey man thanks for the awesome videos. I'm having a problem with a power wheels jeep. Battery is new and charged to 12 volts and I replaced the control box that all of the wires plug into. When I press the power button to turn the jeep on, it makes the engine revving sound and the radio comes on. But when I press the gas pedal, the control box just makes a clicking sound and nothing happens. Wheels dont turn at all. All the wiring looks clean and break free. Any thoughts on where I should start looking?
Probably need a new control board. It's very common for people to try to overvolt those to 18 volts and it pops a capacitor. U could try and take the cover off and confirm that the cap too is bulging. Personally I don't like any model with circuit boards.

The clicking is a relay engaging power to motors. Did u test motor directly with power? I would test voltage at motor leads to see if power is getting to motors. Also full battery is 13.2 volts so could be a low voltage issue.

I checked my Wrangler out. The right wheel works fine, but the left motor gets power, but it doesn’t work. Does that mean it is burned out and needs to be replaced?
If u jumped power direct to motor and no go then most likely worn out. Last test would be to power up and spin by hand to see starts to spin. May have debris or oxidation on brushes

Unfortunately, it's no longer available. I got the motors b/c someone in the comments said it fit the Jeep Wrangler, which it ended up not working for mine. I had to remove the old gears off the old motor and put them on the new motor. I HIGHLY recommend pulling the wheel off and checking how many teeth your motor requires. It will save you a lot of time in the long run. I think mine was 18. Hope this helps!

@@shellybelle6781 It was the batteries, they are two 12v batteries. I replaced them with a new pair and it worked. In fact, I replaced one of them with a real car battery, thats 70AMP!. So I just charge it once a week.
This is awesome man, how about this, I have the exact same model, when I hit the gas nothing happens. Nothing at all. Its been working fine, however I did replace the battery with a larger 12v AGM battery for longer ride time. The kids could use it for like an hour before she died.

Test motor first. If brushes are bad it will spin easy because it's not "generating" electricity. Spinning a motor manually actually produces power!!

It may be as simple as making sure the wheel is fully engaged into the gearbox coupler. The part that locks into the wheel. Lmk

If it's the rears u probably have broken gears in the gearboxes.

Both wheels work but one keeps stopping randomly. The tabs and connections are good but the motor keeps stopping. Any ideas I could try

You can get on Amazon and look for 12 volt Power Wheels motor and it will come right up.Each motor is about $15.
How do you access the motors on the F150 Power Wheels Raptor PMM94-9665? Our reverse stopped working and now nothing works.

U cannot overvolt models with control box. U fried the box.

Stock battery? Most likely the built in 30 amp fuse. I would use 2 new batteries of the same ah.
Ahh. Looks like I added a 12v/12AH battery instead of the stock 12V/9.5 AH. So it has two 12v batteries of different AH
That and the stock battery has a built in thermal fuse that is tripping due to the increased amp draw

Could be broken gearbox or seized motor. Never really messed with 6 volt stuff because they break easy and not really suited for modification.

Pretty vague info but a "whistling" may be a loose motor pinion issue. Most of those off brand models have circuit boards and they can become damaged.
CKC Garage we checked the motor and there is one missing screw so we put a new screw and a new battery. Everything is perfect thank you

Check foot pedal and switches for resistance
I used a 12 Volt DC power supply directly on the motor terminals , by-passing the pedal and switches to check motors first.

If it has a circuit board you fried it from overvolting. Need new board or rewire using an esc setup

Stock powerwheels 12 volt motors work well on 18 volts

@@CustomKidzCars I'll check the motors tonight and see what they say. So the clicking sound is the board doing what's it's supposed to do correct? If so, it sounds like the motors might be toast. I'll do some investigating and see what I can find. Thank you so much for all of your help!!
@@CustomKidzCars I took the bottom cover off that hides the motors and the motor wires were chewed up. I fixed em and now my kid is as happy as can be. Thank you so much for your help buddy, I couldnt have done it without you!!
I checked my Wrangler out. The right wheel works fine, but the left motor gets power, but it doesn’t work. Does that mean it is burned out and needs to be replaced?
If u jumped power direct to motor and no go then most likely worn out. Last test would be to power up and spin by hand to see starts to spin. May have debris or oxidation on brushes

@@mickeymickey2741 I got the "2 Pcs 550 40000RPM Electric Motor High Speed RS550 12V Motor Gearbox Accessories for Power Wheels Children Ride On Car Replacement Parts" off of amazon. Unfortunately, it's no longer available. I got the motors b/c someone in the comments said it fit the Jeep Wrangler, which it ended up not working for mine. I had to remove the old gears off the old motor and put them on the new motor. I HIGHLY recommend pulling the wheel off and checking how many teeth your motor requires. It will save you a lot of time in the long run. I think mine was 18. Hope this helps!
What if a wheel is locked up completely? I can’t spin it by hand.

Mine is a 12 v and does the same . What did you you do?
@@shellybelle6781 It was the batteries, they are two 12v batteries. I replaced them with a new pair and it worked. In fact, I replaced one of them with a real car battery, thats 70AMP!. So I just charge it once a week.
My 12v Arctic cat has new battery. Both rear wheels turn when hitting accelerator. Moves very slow. Please help

if these motors were directly driving the wheels i too would feel that way, but the gear box is key to what makes this possible.

This is awesome man, how about this, I have the exact same model, when I hit the gas nothing happens. Nothing at all. Its been working fine, however I did replace the battery with a larger 12v AGM battery for longer ride time. The kids could use it for like an hour before she died.
First thought is fuse, loose connection or gas pedal.
