Hunting with a .223 is 100% legal where I deer hunt. If it makes you feel any better I've hunted exclusively with my AR the last three deer seasons, and have yet to have a deer take a step after the trigger is pulled. Neck shots work wonders on whitetails!
223/5.56 is a bit light to ethically take down a deer don't you think. It appears to be a clean or lucky shot, however 'can' and 'should' when choosing a hunting caliber are not always mutually exclusive. I can't speak to where ever you live, but as a matter of comparision the local laws, in consultation with the wildlife conservation/hunting association, state no hunting large game with anything under .30 cal. full power rounds (for example excluding intermediate rounds such as 7.62x39).
***** So you are saying a 243... or 270... or a 7mm Mag is not enough to hunt "large game"? Try looking up "270 Jack" You might learn something,,,,, then again I think you and "prohunter " are just trolling.
Go troll somewhere else "prohunter." That "calve" as you call you call it is old enough to survive on its own. It's obvious you created that account to post that comment.
Thats almost criminal. Why do you shoot the female from the calf. All hunting rules (etical) says you have to shoot the calf first. Please explain!!
