Many years of searching landed me a Red Mk1 Hercules W2000 with a pristine rotor and housing showing 1,400 miles, it needed TLC such as rechrome and repaint after being stored but it now is used all the time here in UK (not on our salted winter roads). Getting the tick over nice and low means it sounds way better and tells you its in tune. Real nice little bike, around 40 mpg for big smiles per mile.

On my way home from watching Steve Hislop win the senior TT on the rotary Norton, I got a speeding ticket in Deryshire - issued to me by a cop on a rotary Norton! I thought the rotary would finally take off in motorcycles, but sadly, it was not to be. Happy days though.

Pity it will not pass emissions it'd be an amazing bike on the road I always thought of Rotary's in bikes especially motorcross that powerband would be insane

Is Creighton producing the CR 700W for on highway use or is it a dedicated race machine.

They're track only but it doesn't really matter even if they were road legal they're still six figures so basically nobody will realistically ever be able to own one.

@@abracing199 yeah, there are definitely quite a few of these six or even seven figure boutique, hyper bikes out there from different specialty manufacturers… Even if they’re just gonna wind up in somebody’s collection as a garage queen… i’m still happy they exist. They push the industry forward.

The black and gold Nortons got that color due to the sponsorship by JPS - John Player Special cigarette .

Virtually everything with an engine had fag packet livery in those days didn't it.😁

I couldn't care less about this video, but I noticed you spelled "Weird" incorrect on your channel name. Also "wired" is not it, if that was the goal.
This must have been on purpose, but with 14k subs, maybe it's an honest mistake.

Pretty sure this is an AI voice over and that's why the nuance of the pronunciation is lost. Welcome to the future. Same reason is says "nanometers" when it's supposed to be referring to newton meters.

The power of the Wankel engine comes from its displacement which is three times larger than that announced.
Otherwise it has very poor efficiency, and is unreliable despite its slow operation.
The rotor rotating three times slower than the output shaft whose speed is praised in the communication.
Big displacement, slow speed, poor efficiency and poor reliability...

Ah but power to weight is where it’s at in motorcyles, & Wankel Rotaries literally beat the schlt out of piston engined motorcyles in regard power to weight.

Your point about displacement is much disputed.
If they were so inefficient as you claim, they wouldn't be competitive. How many kWh of output does this 700 produce per litre of fuel, and how does that compare to a conventional 2 stroke or 4 stroke (of any capacity).
