I have the same problem with my savis workshop lightsaber I recommend pitt force five he does lightsaber convertions on legacy/disney parks lightsabers he has a website called pittforcefive.com and he has a Etsy called pitt force five his work is amazing and if you want to see it he has a TH-cam channel under Pitt force five
Oh no!! We'er sorry to hear about your Savi's workshop saber. Were you having blade problems, or problems with the switch?? PittForceFive huh... got it! He's on the list... we'll check him out. Thanks Collin!!
Finding The Force I think it’s the internals I watched a video on TH-cam and this guy had the same problem as me and he took apart his savis workshop lightsaber and replaced a wire but my parents won’t let me do it for obvious reasons it’s a 200 dollar lightsaber but I got the Disney parks Rey deluxe lightsaber as my display piece and my ultrasabers graflex as my battle saber so and I love Disneyland so I put the savis saber on my shelf with that stuff but I always wanted the graflex style lightsaber it just calls to me so I’m happy those work and had no problem with them
I’m gonna be honest, I always assumed these were more collector items than actual dueling sabers. I feel like even lite smashing would kill these things.
ThePenguin Well that’s how I feel about force FX sabers. But the staff at Galaxy’s Edge told me that they were able to be dueled with!!!... because of the design of the blade connectors. 🤷🏼♂️ And he was only like five years old at the time, I mentioned that in the video as well. Not like we were two teenage guys smashing them together.
Finding The Force I mean I get it, and defiantly Disney is in the wrong here for telling people these can be dueled with. I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing one in person to make that determination for myself.
@@thepenguin5342 in Orlando the opening team was told that they were not meant for hard dueling at all but that they could handle very light dueling. We should recommend the hilt displays so they might opt out of using them too much.
It has been common knowledge for years since the days of Master Replicas (the original force fx saber sellers) that ALL of these type sabers were never meant for dueling, just collecting/shelf displays. Sabers made by ultrasabers, saberforge, vaders vault and many other custom saber builders however are made for full contact fun.
Ahhh... when you put it that way, that makes a lot of sense. When my son was 4 I'm not sure you could even call it "dueling" when we would play fight in the backyard. However... all of the Galaxy's Edge staff would promote their lightsabers as "Duel Worthy".. designing the blade attachment to have wiggle room and take some of the force from dueling. So it's kind of a different story than the Force FX sabers.
I agree. The very first Master Replicas stated on the box not for any dueling for decoration only. These should never be used even for light dueling. Go to Saberforge just expect to pay several hundred to near a thousand for all the goodies.
If I was the little guy I’d be pissed too. Disney - Give us all your money Consumer - our legacy lightsabers broke Disney - Sorry no refunds Consumer - what about quality control Disney - quality what now gimme your money
Finding The Force No they should have better quality control Disney is screwing people out of money and that’s not right. Your son is six right? Well even at this point as me myself at the time of writing I’m a 34-year-old adult I would lose my goddamn mind if I had invested that much money into a product line that has little to no longevity at all. I collect Star Wars Black series figures, right and if Hasbro me dirty like that I would lose my goddamn s right up their goddamn arses. I’m just sorry for both of you because ultimately you and your son mucking around with the lightsabers it’s like a father-son bonding session where everybody else in your family is supportive around you. Anyway you and yours take care, stay safe and all the best from the UK
Did the full saber savi gig in July. 560 for 2 sabers all the add on’s plus all the kyber crystals. Have to pull the battery packs after every use. No dueling or banging the blades as the soldered connections will eventually fail. If you duel be prepared to buy new blades. They are display items that you can fire up and lightly use in the end. It is what it is… Well worth the experience with my son.
Hey Saturn! It sounds like you are super knowledgeable about your sabers! Taking fantastic care of them. We would have done the same thing if the staff in Galaxy's Edge had told us they were not meant for even light tapping! But unfortunately that's not what happened, they told us they were fine for play fighting and so that's what we did. I don't regret it though, because we met a fantastic Saber Smith who ended up converting our broken saber into Neil pixel. I hope you check out that video. th-cam.com/video/_Isqj35FBqY/w-d-xo.html
@@FindingTheForce $350 per lightsaber? Did I see that correctly. I’m no expert by any means, but the Sabermasters 2 for 1 deal @ 199 plus a 10 off coupon is best deal on (2) dueling sabers you can beat on.
I would recommend getting one custom saber. Overall the craftsmanship is better, accuracy is way better and you get to customize it exactly the way you like. It around $800-$1200 for a decent one but it’s really worth it. It’s like a Mercedes/Ferrari/Rolls-Royce compared to a Chevy.
hahaha... a "decent" one!?! for 1200$ lol... I'm hoping to get an awesome bad ass lightsaber for less than that, with all of our wish list. What did you think of our wish list?
Finding The Force I’ll should explain further. At $1200, a decent one would be you have a metal hilt, simple chassis with no detailing, proffie board which is the one of the best in the business, and a neopixel set up. This would give you things like smooth swing, random blaster block, lighting block, force use, localized lock up, any color combo you could imagine including a rainbow/unicorn one, effects like a flame saber or an unstable one, melt through wall effect like Qui Gon in episode 1, any sound effect you pretty much wish. A top tier saber is one that would have a quartz crystal chamber with detailed metal, copper, brass and/or silver inlays with movable parts like a spinning plasma gate. The hilts on them can be a real folmer graflex which alone is about $1000 due to it’s rarity. The folmer is the one Luke had in episode 4 and 5. Those babies can run you $3000-$5000 depending on how detailed you go. Hope this helps.
@@FindingTheForce You don't have to spend $1200 for a custom Lightsaber. I have built several canon hilts and I sell them for no more than $600. Unless you go crazy with the internals. But a NeoPixel Proffie lightsaber is the closest thing you can ever have to a real saber.
@@thatkidrich Agreed. The only reason the price tag for a saber is quad digit is if someone is using ridiculously top flight electronics or has decided to put precious metals and stones in to the hilt. A serviceable custom starts around 200 (+/- 20) and goes up from there.
If those are the features you are looking for I suggest looking into Rebel Sabers. Sabers ment for dueling ( depending on model, thin neck sabers are not recommended for heavy dueling ) and well worth the price for them. I grabbed two of their elegant whirlwind sabers and I'm EXTREMELY pleased with them. I planned on making my own customization to them so I went with a simple saber style. 4 tiers of sabers initiate, apprentice, knight, and master. Their BASE sabers come with 6 fonts, 12 rgb colors, stable/pulse/unstable, flash on clash, lock up, blaster deflection, rechargeable and as an added touch..... 5 songs from the movies that you can play AND have all the saber sounds going on at the same time, great for little ones that want to feel like they are really IN star wars. Great prices for the features you get. I paid 90$ each and I had them within 14-18 days of ordering. And from the reviews I've seen on them they are quick to respond and fix problems with orders.
Hey Paul, thanks for the heads up. We have actually only heard good things about that company. They are definitely on our radar. And please keep in mind that when we play fight it’s very late father and son dueling. Not like too strong teenagers having at it or some thing. Ha ha But you are totally right, rebel sabers sound like a much better tool for the job.
as a filmaker I never use Disney lightsabers for choreography practice or preparing for a future SW project, we only buy the 'profesional' lightsabers. They're way cheaper but very reliable, if you want to have fights with each other I would recommend jaxy and kenjo sabers they are made for fighting with. Disney's lightsabers are simply there as decoration.
Filmmaker?? That's awesome man, you'll have to shoot us an email and tell us what you do. After our experiences we completely agree. The problem that I try to mention in our videos is that the staff in the theme park tell the guests that they are OK for play fighting. Probably not good advice! lol
I recommend ultrasabers! And even though the Graflex (Luke/anakin) lightsaber is a bit pricey, the customer service is good, sound is good, flash on clash is good, brightness is really good, and the shipping time takes about a week!
This is a warning, absolutely do not buy from ultrasabers, their customer service is garbage, I recommend Saber theory or Imperial workshop’s baselit or Neopixel sabers
@@chariotstudios2019 after doing some more recent research, their sabers are very outdated. Now although I live in Texas and I got my saber in a week from them, I keep hearing complaints from other states about their service. So yeah don’t buy from them
They want to upgrade their Legacy lightsaber, not buy a whole new one. I'll look through the sabersmiths I have saved on facebook. There's a few really good ones out there though
Hey Zren. Ha ha you are right, we are mainly focusing on repurposing this Ray/Luke saber. However, I would very much like to purchase a couple from one of these deluxe saber companies
Finding The Force I have purchased 3 sabers from Korbanth. The sabers are bright, loud (still only at 50% of max volume) and the have the cool clash and blaster effects that you want as well as as force lightning block and can be programmed to have that cool breathing/pulsing effect of the blade that you want. They also have other abilities that I’m currently not using.
Wow this is really worrying as I would be traveling from canada to one of the parks. I hope i dont have a problem like this :(. I would only have the time in disney land or world to figure out any of these problems, or I have to mail it back and that could take months. Thanks for the brutal honesty, and sorry you had so many issues. I would definitely do a neopixle upgrade to the lightsaber. Neopixle/internal upgrades can do all of those things that your looking for. I'm excited to see how your project turns out !! Keep up the great videos guys, I love the collection.
Thanks a lot man. Please check back to see how it all turns out. Like I said in the video, It just takes a lengthy phone call their customer service / merchandise serv. ... and a couple of weeks, and they should have mailed you a new one. Have an awesome trip Jordan!! Thanks for watching. I hope we earned your Sub.
The thing with these lightsabers is that I don’t think they are designed with the purpose of being used for dueling. (Which is foolish considering how tempting it is to duel with them because of how realistic they are). I don’t own any legacy lightsabers I own Hasbro Black Series lightsabers and all of them work perfectly, but I also haven’t ever used them for dueling so that might be why. I keep them inside the box and display them every now and then. I’m just super protective with them you know 😂
Hey twisted, that is super smart, sounds like you take great care of them. They will last a very long time that way, also don't forget about the batteries. If they get left in there too long they tend to explode and can ruin the contact points.
@@FindingTheForce Oh yes of course. I don’t put the batteries in every time I bring them out, but I do put them in every now and then. For me they are great display pieces, but I can imagine the feeling a little kid may feel by holding such a realistic lightsaber, and the temptation to duel with them.
Well... lol that's one way to look at it. But in the past to be honest, Disney has always had excellent customer service. I'm sure if we waited for months and months they would eventually take care of us.
Over the years I've seen Disney stray away from being for the family. What they charge in ticket prices, food, merchandise, and ect is highway robbery. They have become a band of Pirates, that they make the Pirates Of The Caribbean look like Robin Hood and his Merry Men.
Thanks a lot Gary, we appreciate that. Disney has always come though and exceeded our expectations when it comes to customer service. ... But I have no idea how long I will have to wait if I just wanted to exchange it. ... plus... this path of "upgrading" sounds like a fun adventure. haha
Ouch that sucks. For those who live in Cali or Florida at least people can go back to get it replaced, but for those of us who are out of state that just isn't an option. As for me, I don't play with my lightsabers much (just turn it on and off and swing it around once in a while) so there are no issues so far but I did have this weird thing with the Savi's 30" blade where it turned pink and then just wouldn't light up. Luckily I have two 36" blades so it was fine. Weird thing is one of the blades is SUPER tight while the other was just fine so I dunno what Disney is doing with their quality control. As for Sabersmiths, go to sabersourcing.com/list-of-sabersmiths/ and there is a list of Sabersmiths both international and domestic. Tho lately I gotta say I would go with the custom vendors out there if you really want sabers you can really go to town with... Tho it'll cost ya unless you go the eBay route for used ones like l do... But u gotta do your research so you know what you're getting!
Hey Kapoor! Dude, D-Land in California is still closed! Didn't you see the video! lol ; ) I know what you mean. Some of my galaxies edge blades fit fine in the others are like super snug and hard to lock in place. Woooow. That's awesome man, thanks for that list, it will take some time but I want to make sure we make a great choice.
My I recommend trying a Saberforge lightsaber, I have the Ka’Tano in lime green and it’s really sturdy and amazing. But it’s a bit expensive and arrived within 2-4 Months, but i’m in australia so for you guys it should arrive earlier! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I will definitely be talking about Saberforge in videos to come!! Thanks for the suggestion! Whoa... that's a very cool design!! Is it associated with a Jedi? It looks like a mix between Luke's ROTJ and Luke's ANH.
That’s because of dueling you can’t duel with these sabers because they made them for display and swinging around not dueling just because they make battle clash flash fox or blade flick of clash fx doesn’t mean you duel with them the only way how you can duel with these sabers is by clashing lightly and not hard or rough because that is how they break so easily but the only way you can hear the clash effects is hit your bed or hit the saber with your hand.
Finding The Force i do not recommend ultrasabers the owner of it is very bad he pulls guns on employees and put them in terrible work conditions they also take months to ship i’m talking 6-7 months. they’re overpriced flashlights
Finding The Force , I have purchased one lightsaber from ultrasabers and it came in 1.5 weeks during COVID-19 , they also had great customer service. I am also currently saving up for a rebel sabers lightsaber.
Rebel sabers are also cheaper than ultrasabers and saberforge and they have more features , I am currently saving up for the classic hero(Luke Return of the Jedi) lightsaber witch is in the knight category and it costs $225 including all features like sound , flash on clash , and infinite amount of color combinations. You can also choose the master category with has more expensive sabers for around $340 with all Of the features i listed , but better yet they also have neopixel lightsabers in the master category witch are around $565 .
Wooooo!!! Thank goodness!! That's why we always are telling our viewers to TEST OUT your sabers!! So glad you didn't make it home with a broken saber. Have a blast at Disney!! 👋🏻
You guys should try getting some Neopixel lightsabers those are top of the line. If you don't know who the terms smooth swing, Profit, CFX or neopixel I suggest you do some research on these you won't be disappointed.
@@FindingTheForce galaxy’s edge sabers are not duel worthy unfortunately, and that sucks because that’s all you want to do with them. Sabertrio, though a bit more expensive, has neopixel blades that are full contact duel worthy, and are some of the brightest sabers you can buy. Unfortunately they are a smaller company that “run out of stock” because they get such a large amount of orders for such a small business. But their work is amazing.
id say use ultrasabers or sabertrio, texas custom sabers also I think the reason the blades broke is due the disney licensed ones being String blades so they are not suitable for combat so for my stunt saber (and all mine) they are like a flashlight with the blade just being ultra reflective so they are really good for combat (also quite bright). also I never really trusted disney when it comes to lightsabers for the broken lightsaber..Id say send them off to a modder and he/she will make them combat ready or whatever you choose. also they pretty much PLAN for them to break so you buy a new one that happens quite a bit nowadays :(
I have not heard of Texas customs before, I will look into them. I think the "flashlight" is called a Trip-cree LED?? I guess I never really thought of Disney sabers like that. Their customer service is always so great, but when it comes to Disney merchandise it works well for a while but not really for long-term unfortunately. : (
Finding the force, thx for the quick reply. After I got my Rey legacy saber from Galaxys Edge, we returned to the hotel after a while, so we arrived to the room at night. By then, I still hadn’t pressed the power button to my saber because I wanted to wait until I could ignite it in the dark. Turned out to be a mistake because the sound was good but the light was not there. We couldn’t return because it was too late and we had a flight the next morning,(we dont live in USA). At home, I sent the saber back and after a while I was worried, until I saw ur video and I was happy I wasn’t the only one. Thanks again, Sutter family!
Sorry to hear that! Try The Pach Store, Sabertrio, Sabermach or Dark Wolf Sabers. All of their sabers are duel-worthy and have many more features such as infinite colors, numerous soundbanks, and better customer service.
Thanks a lot DJ Gamera, those are excellent suggestions and we have heard of most of them. We have started reviewing custom neo pixel sabers! th-cam.com/video/FmlmNaqs5hE/w-d-xo.html
Great question Luis. You know what... I think we are going to make a video about it!! Just for you bro. If you Sub, we will post it 1st thing Monday morning. Sounds good?? :-D
My lightsaber because last year i bought a light saber a it was a blue one the light was pretty good and cool. Suddenly i took my saber i try the light and it didn't work my brother have a lime green saber it was working but saddly my one didn't work
Exactly where I bought mine. Not bad on the whole but it does act up a bit every now and again. Mostly when the rechargable battery is about to die. Best part is it has a 1 year warranty. I'm hanging onto mine till after May The 4th and I get a few of my custom parts I ordered a month ago. So probably not sending mine out for a checkup till June or July. I hope it's not out for more than a month....love my saber!!
Idk what happened to your lightsabers but i have one and me and my friend even clashed them so hard that our hands got hurt badly but the only problem i got was the blade getting bend
..... YESSSS!!! Atta boy!! Way to go Doctor!! Play with those *darn* lightsabers!! lol... nice. It's all good, getting them "upgraded" will be super fun.
My Savi’s Workshop stopped making sound 6 months after I built it. Never dropped, sat on the display stand 99% of the time. Turned it on one day and no sound. Tried 3 sets of batteries. Now it just sits on a shelf.
Noooo!!!!!! Crap, that's terrible. We are sorry to hear that. 😧 I would like to encourage you to call Disney Parks Merchandise, ask for Galaxy's Edge Dept. and explain the situation. They really need to find a manufacturer that will make better quality merchandise!!
Hey I have been watching for a few months love that your son is involved just gives a good positive vibe and he’s not just in the back being ignored your a great dad
Thanks a lot man, I like to think that we bring our own style to the Star Wars TH-cam community. I think we are all going to watch my little guy grow up on this TH-cam channel. Ha ha Ha Thanks again though, that is very kind of you.
We went back in late November with the Marching Band, glad we didn’t get any. I hope they fix those issues before we go back. Sorry to hear about your issues.
Hey Brad, thanks so much for watching man. I am very glad to hear you got to visit a Disney park before the terrible pandemic changed our country forever. : ( I still think legacy sabers are a quality product, we just wanted to share our experiences and make people aware so they can hopefully avoid our bad experiences. Keep the force in your heart Brad. Hope to see more of your comments in the future
OMG! lol... I can't believe we left that out of our list!! Darn it... I guess our list has like... 7 points now. Thanks for the reminder Chancho!! I can't wait to try smooth swing... *drools*
Finding The Force Not a problem! Hopefully you guys are able to find someone to help you out or if you plan on doing it yourself the best of luck to you!!
Disney don’t advertise the blades as fuel worthy, but play worthy. They do add wiggle room so that they can be played with to a certain extent. The blades are ‘mid-grade’ and won’t break with light tapping, they’re basically collectors items that you can use for Star Wars role playing. Now if you clash a lightsaber hard or clash it regularly then you can expect the lightsaber to have electrical issues or dents. Mainly because half the electronics for the lightsaber are in the blade itself and the blades aren’t built for hard hitting/ duelling. I don’t really wanna say this because you seem like very nice people and I love the content you make but if you’ve had 4 separate problems with 4 separate products then the issue is most likely you and how you are using the product. But hey, if you upgrade to have better reliability then that’s awesome. Keep up the great work guys!
Hey Cody. Thank you for the very nice compliments. I think you really hit the nail on the head. We mentioned those good points that you made in our video we just released today about dueling. And in our defense, several of those saber problems I would consider defective, not necessarily because we were playing with them. I like your word choice of using the words "play worthy ". 👍🏻
@@FindingTheForce there’s definitely the possibility they were defective. I was mainly talking about the one that broke a year after you’ve had it. Anyways, All the luck in the future with your channel!!👍
@@FindingTheForce been doing for personal use for about 9 months, but I have been building Star Trek props for years. I have some videos on my profile.
@@davisje011 Wow!! The blade test is awesome! Did you install any of the other bells and whistles? Smooth swing, flash on clash, or different sound fonts? I have no idea what those electronic props are, but they look impressive!! We might be in need of a good prop fabricator in the near future!!
My Lightsaber has a Purple Kyber Crystal, and Today I noticed that the color of the blade is getting RED and sometimes a kind of PINK, but never PURPLE! And it’s working right with the Blue Crystal....
Whoooooah. That's... unsettling. We have heard from a lot of people that with blade color changing issues replacing the batteries tends to fix that problem real fast. Have you tried that yet? Thanks for sharing bud!
Don't waste your money, the sabers at Disney are cheaply made pieces of crap. Spend a little bit more and get a quality neo pixel saber which will last longer and look loads better.
hahaha... We don't blame you!! Don't let our video get you down, just make sure you test your sabers really well before you leave the park. We did not break all of them ourselves, several of them were defective out of box.
@@thegrandinquisitor2838 There quality if your a collector and your not going to swing them around a ton and they work if you turn em on once and a while personally I have kylos and rtoj luke and i had problem with the rtoj luke but they exchanged it within 30 mins of asking overall from my experience great for collecting for the price but don't expect to be able to fight with them.
I just took my kids to Disney World, left Hollywood Studios after building the lightsaber for one of my kids...went back to the rental house near by and the saber quit working that night. We tried calling Disney customer service, we were on hold for over an 1hr 30mins before having to hang-up do to having to attend Sea World and having four kids ages 7,6,4,1. I wish they would have a contingency plan for broken items especially when they cost over $200. We also drove 20hrs to get there...such a bummer for my boy...
Definitely recommend electrum sabercraft or Sabrertrio for some great electronics and dueling lightsabers. They do all the features you had on your list plus smooth swing which I thing you’ll definitely like. If you’re going for Neopixal, make sure to source heavy grade neopixal blades (affordable ones from saberforge, sabertrio, and Bendu armory). The neopixal set up is universal, so don’t worry about buying a hilt from one company and using another companies neopixal blade as long as they have the same blade diameter
Hey Joshua, thanks so much for stopping by! We have not heard of sabercraft yet, thanks for spreading the word! Affordable blades??... Awesome!! That is a big help, Thank you!! Going to be making a video about our saber Smith shopping in the next week or two. Hope to see you then.
I think that Disney need to get there act together as I have had a lot less problems with my force fx lightsabers compared to my legacy Lightsabers I got Ben solos and after a few months the light and sound was messed up and we had lots of problems getting a replacement if you are looking for a nice well rounded lightsaber I recommend the new force fx kit fisto lightsaber
No way man, that's a real bummer about your been solo saber. Hopefully you did get that replaced. We actually did a review on the kit Fisto lightsaber, did you get a chance to check it out?
Finding The Force yes after a long time I was able to replace my Ben solo saber as I live in the uk and I got it when I was visiting it was hard to return and yes I watched your review on the kit fisto force fx and that’s why I got it unfortunately the only type of lightsabers I can get is only force fx as I’m in the uk so I was exited about removeabke blade on kit fisto and I have also ordered Darth revans new lightsaber to looking forward to you review on that
My last trip to Disney I was at customer service when someone had came up with a problem with their Savi's saber. They had just left the workshop and was headed home....
Thanks Zac, that's very kind of you. I was pretty sad at first and frustrated, but then I started to get excited about the thought of upgrading it so overall I'm pretty happy right now ha ha
They are probably broken because you’ve been having one on one’s with them, or the room you keep them in is hot so they start to get hot, like phones do whenever you leave it in a hot sun
Alexander Leal Hey Alex!! Thank you for the suggestions. I promise our spare room is always kept at room temperature. And we do light dueling in the backyard... but that is what they told us they were made for at Galaxy’s edge. 🤷🏼♂️
The $30 dollar one?? We did a review on that one.. a comparison. Have you seen it yet? Or are you talking about the "Disney Parks Deluxe"?? I think those Sabres were like there test run for the Legacy series.
I guess it's a good thing I plan to keep mine as no contact! I was going to go this past year, but COVID-19 slowed myself and my family down. Hope you guys can still have some fun with what still works!
As an 18-year-old who thought the same thing a couple years back and who also just bought a 250$ Darth Revan replica lightsaber, I can tell you to not be sure about that.
Dude... don't get yourself down Yeet! You have so many years ahead of you to make big money and make all these choices of what to do with it. Enjoy being young man! : ) You'll get there someday.
hahahaha! Right!?! lol The older FX sabers are awesome! Their sensitivity is fantastic. We have compared a lot of them in our videos. Thanks for watching man!
I don't know if you know this or not, but those Lightsabers including the ones from Savi's aren't meant for dueling of any type because the blade isn't meant for real dueling or even light dueling could damage the blades or the hilts.
StillSaber1790 Well, I’m starting to think you are right. However, all of the staff at Galaxy’s Edge we’re bragging about how do you blade attachment was designed to absorb shock and to be double the width. What do you say to that?🤷🏼♂️😆
@@FindingTheForce i make sink tube lightsabers and the blades i use for them are Polycarbonate and are meant to take a beating, those blades from Galaxy's Edge aren't, they are made with the same plastic materials that Hasbro makes for their Special FX Lightsabers that costs somewhere between $250 to $400 and are meant to be used as Shelf Queens or Cosplay, not actual Dueling, unless you send them to a Saber Smith that can covert them into actual dueling sabers, otherwise its just a big flash light with sounds, i'm sorry if this sounds rude and i apologize for it, but that's what professional saber smiths say about those fragile lightsabers, their not meant for dueling.
awww... I don't know man, $150 for a replica quality light saber I think it's pretty inexpensive compared to the deluxe companies. Especially being able to buy replacement blades can be a pretty big value for a lot of people
I have the Luke and Vader Legacy sabers the only problem I had was when the batteries would start to die, the saber would lose sound when ignited, keep sound but the blade would be off, or on the rare occasion actually change colors for a short period. (Really weird having a green Vader saber) but a simple battery change fixed all the problems
Really!?! Interesting... You must be practicing your Jedi skills quite often to wear down so many batteries. Good for you man. With all of our saber problems that was always the first thing I would check.
Thanks for making this! I learned a lot. That’s really unfortunate you guys had to go through all that, but I appreciate you sharing, I’ve never heard anything bad about them before.
Thank you so much Jonah! That is a super nice comment. We still buy legacy sabers and we will in the future, just trying to raise awareness and begin our journey into finding neopixel sabers. Thanks so much for watching!
It’s because of the connection of the blade and saber, the same thing happens with mine and I was taking out my blade when the sound was on and when I was taking it out it turned on. So you need to put it in all the way then turn it on, then you slowly take it out and halfway threw you taking it out it should turn on.
Finding The Force yes i get there 75 dollars mystery box i think they just did a lightsaber raffle they have a youtube channel and a facebook page if you want to message them they are very responsive and really kind people and very high quality duiling sabers a 75 dollar mystery box will get you a rgb saber with three sound fonts or it could get a even better upgrade and have like 7 sound fonts
I was hired to be Darth Vader at a birthday party yesterday. June 9th 2024, and it was working a treat two days before. When I arrived I went to ignite my lightsaber NOTHING HAPPENED! I was so embarrassed. The kids didn’t care but it made me feel so unprofessional. And like you, it is temperature controlled, always on display and I never clash it against anything. I’m going with SabersPro next.
I feel like these lightsabers are mostly for display i wouldn't clash with them i would personally buy a 20 dollar lightsaber from Walmart to play around with
PVT Cheeseberger Lol... well, toys are meant to be played with. 😆 You are probably right, even though all of the staff at Galaxy’s edge said they were designed to duel with. 🤷🏼♂️ so we are feeling a little confused. Either way, we have found a solution and it’s going to be pretty exciting! We will be posting updates soon.
Absolutely do NOT buy through Ultrasabers. They have an F rating with the BBB for a reason. If you look at the custom lightsaber forums on the internet, you will see so many stories on how Ultrasabers is a ripoff.
The legacy lightsabers and the savvis lightsabers are not considered dueling lightsabers they are more collectible, Disney has said this before. I’m sorry if you didn’t read up on a $100+ product before buying it
Really?? Can you remember where Disney has said this? Like I said in the video, the STAFF in Galaxy's Edge is telling people it's ok to duel with them light to moderate.
Hey Aaron, really sorry to hear that man, you better call them ASAP. Google the number for the Disney Park Merchandise guest services, and ask for the Galaxy’s Edge Mech Dept. 👍🏻 it might take a few weeks but I really hope that they can send you a replacement. Maybe don’t mention the part about your son dropping one of the parts. 😉
Well... you're not wrong. lol even though they may not be built to last, because they are made by Disney I think they are the most screen accurate sabers I have seen so far.
Thanks corrupted! That's crazy, I just saw their website an hour ago on Instagram. They do mention having really strong sabers, we will have to take a closer look
Hey death, overall I believe you are correct. Unfortunately all of the staff in the Disney park told us otherwise. The sabers really should stand up to a little bit of light play fighting.
@@FindingTheForce That's often how it goes it seems , the staff most of the time do not have all the answers like with the build a droid in the beginning everyone was disappointed when their droids would not talk to each other out side of the parks........ What can you do......?
Just went to Disneyland yesterday for my Son's 7th bday. He picked out the Kylo Ren saber and the Black Series Storm Trooper Helmet. The light saber turned on for about 10 seconds and started rebooting like a record player with a skip in the record. I took the battery pack out to replace the batteries thinking it just needed new batteries, put brand new Energizer Max batteries in it and it would not even turn on. Cant get it to do anything now.
Hey Sergei! Thanks for watching Mann and the comment. We really don't mean to ruin the fun for you. They are amazing theme park souvenirs, but unfortunately they are not made with the best electrical parts. I always tell people to make sure to use your saber a lot when you first buy it, so if it's defective you can catch it early and exchange it before you fly back home.
I see comments about not dueling with them, which is true no matter what Disney claims, but I have never actually used mine for dueling and I have been having issues too. Every time I light it up and I make any sudden movements and almost at this point even the slightest movement and it makes that sound when you take the blade out and turns off on its own. Never used it for dueling solely used it to practice flourishing and shadow dueling practice( dueling the air if you will) and still glitching out on me. It’s really weird.
Issues for sure. Recently went to Galaxy's Edge and got dukoo's jedi lightsaber and that seems to be doing just fine however i went in jan 2020 to build my own lightsaber. Great experience and staff were amazing but when i got home it started having 2 issues. The first was the blade sometimes turned off randomly and 2nd sometimes the whole lightsaber would turn off randomly. Contacted disney and they did absolutely nothing. There is a slight solution to this though and that was in the battery pack for the lightsaber there seemed to be some sort of debris or idk what even to call it just rattling around inside so we took that out and its working slightly better
We just got 2 the other day, 1 stopped working. Was wondering about batteries until I found a video on how to replace batteries. So going to give that a try
Hey Archie! Unfortunately I believe you are correct. But all of the staff in the park kept telling us they were OK to play fight moderately. We talk more about it in the following videos of can we do, and looking for a saber Smith. Maybe consider checking them out? : )
Okay because personally I think you should be able to use them as toys okay I have nothing against you But your content is actually really good that’s why I subscribed and I feel bad for you and your son that they broke but I still hope you have still got good light savers I’m videos I’ve seen with the temple guards light saver they’re all are in so that might just be something with the colour I don’t know if they make yellow
Those sabers aren't made for dueling. I'd suggest trying saberforge or one of the other combat saber companies. I have a couple saberforge, only ever broke blades and they're easy to replace. And actually pretty difficult to break with light play/dueling.
Hey heavy. I'm starting to think you were right. I'm starting to think that it's a little untruthful that all of the employees at galaxy's edge tell everyone that there sabers are designed for light dueling. Which is why the blades wiggle in the hills a little bit, to absorb some of the shock. 🤷🏼♂️
@@FindingTheForce I haven't see many string bladed sabers that can take a hit. I'd suggest a combat saber, polycarbonate blade and in hilt led. I got a few sabers from saberforge, lot of fun to mess with and the blades are more durable and easy to replace. And the internals are built for dueling. They're expensive sabers but definitely worth it. Also, wasn't actually expecting a reply from you. So that's cool.
Hey man, I think you would be proud to know that we got our skywalker saber fixed and we have heavy grade dueling Neopixel blades! We made videos about both of our conversions and we also got our hands on our first stunt/dueling sabers made by artsabers. Let us know what you think 👍🏻
Can't say I've had an issue with my lightsaber, at least not yet. I did have an issue with one of my holocrons not working properly when I got home. (wish I tested them at the park) but it would activate while it was plugged in, but not while it was unplugged which leads me to believe that there was something wrong with the battery. Thankfully though I managed to get ahold of Disney, let them know of the issue with receipt and they were able to send me a new one.
Hey Evil! Well thank goodness for two reasons. Your light saber is still working and that Disney replaced your holocron! They almost always have excellent customer service. I'm kind of happy that they were not able to help me. Converting our light saber should be a fun adventure.
@@FindingTheForce So there were certain things that we would have to buy off through aliexpress, such as a battery that could fit, speakers, etc. Basically lightsaber internals. Just look up "Lightsaber kit" on aliexpress. There's going to be some empty space once you remove everything, so what we did (my brother in law is an engineer) we designed parts that would keep every piece tightened, because if they're loose, a cable could come loose and the lightsaber would power off mid swing. We converted our sabers from LED to Flashlight because the LEDs werent soldered that well. If you want to go with that option, which I recommend for the galaxy edge sabers, remove the LED strip and the styrofoam surrounding it.
I went to disneyland a couple times in the past couple weeks and purchased Mace Windu, Luke Skywalker, Kylo Ren, Darth Vader and soon Count Dooku. I hope none of them break lol.
Hello there! I ordered a legacy lightsaber and a blade from shopdisney.com. I got the lightsaber about 3 weeks later but no blade. Turns out it go damaged in shipping and had to go back to Disney. 3 more weeks went by before they approved another blade to be sent out to me. A week later I finally had lightsaber and blade in hand! I put them together and it was amazing, my first lightsaber! I used it two more times and then was showing a friend how you can swap the end of the light saber to be screen accurate. Unscrewing the top then twisted out the part under it and what was connected to the power switch. Dang it! Three uses and now this is broken! I contact Disney and they told me to keep a eye on the site and when I see one available to contact them again and they would swap it out. Now over a month since that call I rang them up again and found out I can no longer swap it for a new one or get a refund at all. All of the money and time to have a dead lightsaber. My 5 year old is so sad about this poor dead saber.
Hey Qazmon. We gave your comment a heart because our heart goes out to you man. 😕 first of all, it must have been brutal to have this awesome legacy saber without a blade for three weeks! And now you are telling me the ShopDisney site won't even give you a refund??? That is awful! Really sorry to hear that man. I actually encourage you to try to call them back, maybe the person he talk to his new and misinformed. They should give you a refund and a shipping label to send the item back no problem.
Absolutely ahoy, and since I'm spending all my time making videos, ain't nobody got time for that! Ha ha we found an excellent saber SMITH who is an expert, check out our new Cal Kestis review video.
I called DisneyLand and couldn’t get through then realised they’re making 28,000k employees redundant. Everything is broke at Disney! I had to cancel my trip with my son and I’m frigging fuming!! Great vid Guys and keep up the excellent work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
First, thank you VERY much for the compliment. Much appreciated bro!! Second, Nooooo!!!!! That totally sucks you had to cancel your trip. That hurts my heart. We were thinking of flying over to Florida for D-World... but my wife is having some health issues. 😕 On the bright side.... they are selling some Galaxy's Edge merchandise on their "shopDisney" site now. 🤷🏼♂️
This is the reason I buy Walmart lightsabers for 7-20$ because I have had mine for 4 years I’ve hit it against metal I’ve dropped it on concrete and it’s still brand new shape
Ok, so i have the darth vader force fx black series lightsaber and I've had it for 3 or 4 years now. The blade is scuffed and the technology is pretty outdated. I was supposed to go to galaxy's edge a view months ago (couldn't because the pandemic) and i was going to get the legacy vader lightsaber as a replacement. On the other hand, during quarantine, i found a lightsaber conversion site "pittforcefive" who can convert force fx sabers with a neopixel blade. The problem with that is if I want to convert my force fx lightsaber, i'll have to pay 300$ more than the galaxy's edge legacy saber (and i still plan on going to Disneyland with my family). So which would you recommend i do? Get the legacy saber for about 170-200$... or get a neopixle conversion done on my already existing force fx saber for like 570-620$
Hey Earth!! Very.. Very good question. Over the next month or two... when we get our saber converted, hopefully it will help you make up your mind. Hmmm... I would first decide which hilt you loved more! If you love the Legacy hilt... buy it. And you'll have plenty of time to decide which... if any... of the sabers you want to convert. Keep us updated on your decisions.
Just shipping mine from state to state stored it and a year later it malfunctions. Though mine is the original Lucas arts force fx limited edition. Anyway, it was broken anyway and I figured if nothing else the hilt still looked good. So I took it apart and tested each piece, and found a chip with bad connections. So I just temp fixed it till I can get a new one, and just gut this one to be a hilt only display.
Oh no! Sorry that happened. That’s gotta suck. I gotta say learning how to solder suuuucks lol but it’s so worth it. Took me a while to figure out how to install my own saber (although I’m nowhere near as good as others lol). Hope you’re gonna be able to find an installer and upgrade it. It’ll be so awesome to see it
Hey LSD! Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, I was pretty bummed out until I got this wild idea to convert it! haha You install your own huh? I'm starting to think I am one of the only who don't! lol Thanks man, We will keep you all updated.
A buddy of mine who works at Disney, offered to get me one at a discount, because i collect lightsabers. Mainly Proffie and Neopixel lightsabers. I turned down the offer but made the mistake of saying that "Galaxies Edge Lightsabers were garbage". This turned into a 20 minute argument until I showed him a video on Neopixels, and he had this long pause where he goes "........It's nice that Disney can allow companies like that to make such a product and not get sued". The level of butthurt was palpable.
The blade is the same tech that you can buy at Walmart for 25 bucks. A very thin wired string of led’s up the center. Very thin wire. Being able to remove the blade on these is a connection disaster waiting to happen. Walmart blades are fixed and the led string directly connected to the board inside. Very bright but not going to last with any kind of sustained impact!!!!!!! Cheap Chinese circuitry allowing multiple colors and blade removal= show piece only!!! I’m going to be there in April!!! Can’t wait!!!
Well Steve O... Where the heck were you Man when we decided to buy a huge pile of these sabers!? Ha ha Ha we have come to learn that you are absolutely right. I'm not sure which Walmart sabers you speak of but even the force FX sabers have much upgraded blade LEDs.
We totally agree Kevin. I wouldn’t say that we bashed these. I would call it light play tapping, which I was disappointed that the staff in the park told us would be all right. 🤦🏼♂️
Recently went to savis last week and it seemed fine. But now I’m unsure. When the blade lights up, we see rings inside the blade. Is this normal? I’m guessing they are coils but should it be just one continuous light? I’m here for a couple more days so hopefully I can bring it directly to remedy it.
Hey Magic. "rings inside the blade"... I think what you are referring to in the light saber world is called the "corn-cobbing" effect. That's when you can see very faint dark gaps in between the lights because they are not bright enough to fill the whole blade. Unfortunately that is normal with these blades that don't have more advanced lights. I hope we could help, thanks for watching
I got the legacy darth maul sabers last March and have turn them on and messed with them sparingly, kept the covers on and everything and now one of them is freaking out, I’ll turn it on and just re ignites over and over again
Ahhh!!! Oh no!! That sucks man. That's why we try to tell everyone to give it a lot of play time so that if there is a malfunction, you will be able to find it sooner than later. Please consider calling Disney Parks merchandise about it. They need to replace that!
Finding The Force for sure, going to contact Disney parks about it pretty soon but I’m going back up this upcoming month and still plan on getting another, I’ll definitely be sure to test it better this time! haha
Hey so literally two weeks ago I bought the return of the Jedi green Luke saber and thought to my self, "hey I should open this up just to see..." and luckily I opened it up and tried it out because the blade got stuck in the hilt and there was absolutely no power in the hilt what so ever. I walk back to the store and explain my situation so they tried everything to fix it and I'm just waiting there for 30-40 minutes and finally ask a manager to just give me a brand new one since I just bought it 30 minutes ago. They end up giving me a random opened box from their office and a "new" blade🤦🏽♂️ the blade had to have been a tester blade and was completely dim and scratched up so I just get my money back and bought Mace Windu's Legacy saber!
Omg... are you serious? They wasted a half hour of your time and then tried to give you a used scratched up blade? 🤦🏼♂️ that is just adding insult to injury. We need to make a video sending a message to Disney. We used to have such a high opinion of Disney customer service. 😕
I had issues with my ben solo legacy lightsaber hilt. When I put the blade in the hilt and turned it on it was having technical issues and I found out what caused it to have issues the screws were stripped. So my dad helped me out and got new screws and I fixed and now the ben solo legacy lightsaber is working properly perfectly again
I thought I had an issue with my savis lightsaber. When it would clash it would turn red and I have a blue crystal. I opened up the chassis and made sure my crystal was in properly and it works fine. Sorry you are having issues, I would be mad too! Hope the upgrades work for you!
So who else has been having problems with their Galaxy’s Edge Lightsabers???
I have the same problem with my savis workshop lightsaber I recommend pitt force five he does lightsaber convertions on legacy/disney parks lightsabers he has a website called pittforcefive.com and he has a Etsy called pitt force five his work is amazing and if you want to see it he has a TH-cam channel under Pitt force five
When I opened my package my hilt was damage and I spent 200 dollars on the lightsaber.
Oh no!! We'er sorry to hear about your Savi's workshop saber. Were you having blade problems, or problems with the switch??
PittForceFive huh... got it! He's on the list... we'll check him out. Thanks Collin!!
Oh Noooo!! That's awful. Where did the saber come from, and what style was it?
Disney did claim these sabers as duel worthy
Finding The Force you’re correct about that. 😊
But they tell you there you can duel with them
If I was the little guy I’d be pissed too.
Disney - Give us all your money
Consumer - our legacy lightsabers broke
Disney - Sorry no refunds
Consumer - what about quality control
Disney - quality what now gimme your money
hahahaha... Hey Eva! Right!?! They should have offered extended warranties on these things! I hope they don't all start breaking... 🙏🏼
Disney makes them look great at the start but it’s cheap, they make you buy it because of first impressions. Then it gets really flimsy and chips away
Nick Kroll anything to say give me your money
@@FindingTheForce o

@@FindingTheForce
$350 per lightsaber?
You can get a proffie neopixel from the pach store for around 400$ even less sometimes. They’re much better than decent
Thanks for the suggestion D, it also seems like quite a challenge two get on their mailing list and by savers the morning they get released.
Finding The Force I’m not to sure, but you usually will get an email from them in a week or so. I got my initiate v4 a week after I ordered it
This is a warning, absolutely do not buy from ultrasabers, their customer service is garbage, I recommend Saber theory or Imperial workshop’s baselit or Neopixel sabers

@@JTree hahaha!! You're the best Jordan. We are really lucky to have you on board. More lightsaber videos coming soon.
@@FindingTheForce on the shop website there is a note that the legacy lightsabers should not used for dueling.
It sounds like Disney is ripping y’all off!
Well... lol that's one way to look at it.
@@mkaplan1383 facts
I’m sorry this is happening to y’all, I hope Disney will fix the problem!
Woooow.
I would recommend Rebel sabers , ultrasabers or saberforge
Awesome, thanks Aiden. I made sure all three of those companies are on our list. Have you purchased many sabers from these companies?
@@milfslayer2195 Hey ... Milf. lol.. Those are some pretty serious accusations. Who was your source for this information??

Thanks Anakin!! In our future videos you were definitely going to hear those words from us! Thank you Jedi Skywalker for that great advice. *bows*

@@FindingTheForce yes they do

@@FindingTheForce galaxy’s edge sabers are not duel worthy unfortunately, and that sucks because that’s all you want to do with them. Sabertrio, though a bit more expensive, has neopixel blades that are full contact duel worthy, and are some of the brightest sabers you can buy. Unfortunately they are a smaller company that “run out of stock” because they get such a large amount of orders for such a small business. But their work is amazing.
I haven’t made one I’m waiting for a good day to go to get my own lightsaber. I’m so sorry about your lightsabers guys.
Thanks so much Chris. We are trying to turn a negative situation into a positive adventure!
Are you waiting to get your own saber from a Disney park??
Finding The Force yes I am. My choices are luke Skywalker green or Reys blue lightsaber
Great choice man, those are the two very best they have
Finding The Force yes I agree
id say use ultrasabers or sabertrio, texas custom sabers also I think the reason the blades broke is due the disney licensed ones being String blades so they are not suitable for combat so for my stunt saber (and all mine) they are like a flashlight with the blade just being ultra reflective so they are really good for combat (also quite bright). also I never really trusted disney when it comes to lightsabers for the broken lightsaber..Id say send them off to a modder and he/she will make them combat ready or whatever you choose. also they pretty much PLAN for them to break so you buy a new one that happens quite a bit nowadays :(
I have not heard of Texas customs before, I will look into them. I think the "flashlight" is called a Trip-cree LED?? I guess I never really thought of Disney sabers like that. Their customer service is always so great, but when it comes to Disney merchandise it works well for a while but not really for long-term unfortunately. : (
DO NOT go with Ultrasabers. Minimal research on Reddit will tell you why. Sabertrio would be a way better choice. .
Thank you so much for the video! Mine just got a little damaged and you helped me knowing I wasn’t the only one with this problem.😅
Hey basement, we're really glad to give you some company. lol What happened to your saber?

I would like to encourage you to call Disney Parks Merchandise, ask for Galaxy's Edge Dept. and explain the situation. They really need to find a manufacturer that will make better quality merchandise!!
My lightsaber broke to but my saber is an ultrasaber and my blade broke so it's was alright and I bought a new blade so now it's alright 😊
Oh good!... It was just the blade? If you don't mind me asking.. how much do they charge for blades?
About between 30 to 50 samthing dollars

They are not meant for dueling , they are more for decoration and for collection purposes

I took the battery pack out to replace the batteries thinking it just needed new batteries, put brand new Energizer Max batteries in it and it would not even turn on. Cant get it to do anything now.
Well, at least Luke’s green sober is alright, but the Anakin one gave me a heart attack
hahaha Thanks for watching Brody! 👍🏻
This is really concerning. I planned to buy one of those but a failure rate of 4 on 12 (33%) is way too high. Come on Disney.
My go-to sabersmith for the past 4 years is Albert Flores (in Chino Hills, CA) from Smuggler's Outpost.
You can find him on Facebook.
Thanks for the heads up DJ, I’ve actually seen his work on Instagram, his sabers look very clean.
They are not meant to be used for a toy like I know they’re really fun to use but I’m pretty sure the only made them is for display
My Rey and oby-wan and dooku saber has broken so it don’t have damage on the hilt but it act wearied then I give it a clean and display it
Royal... all 3 of those sabers have broke??? 😟
Yes
Yeah our lightsabers started to break down too and it started to annoy us so we stripped the lightsabers down and upgraded it ourselves
Hey Sabine's. You did!?! That's awesome. Were there any particular TH-cam videos that you used to help guide your journey?
No matter what if you plan to upgrade and change out the light and sound and the other parts you will need a soldering iron
Absolutely ahoy, and since I'm spending all my time making videos, ain't nobody got time for that! Ha ha we found an excellent saber SMITH who is an expert, check out our new Cal Kestis review video.
@@FindingTheForce nobody got time lol
Hahahaha!! That’s awesome! Keep having fun buddy.
Hello
Omg I can’t believe u responded
Wait u took the time and effort to say that to me ur the best

@@FindingTheForce thank you. I'll make sure to do so. 😁
5:12 The boy is raised well
Hey son, that is the nicest five word comments ever! Ha ha thank you so much.
Daaaaaamg Ingram! Way to go! You must really love that saber! 👍🏻🙌🏻
The bottom line with these Disney sabre is don't bash em about, and the quality is a bit hit and miss especially for the price
Thanks so much Jessica for the comment!! We have met a lot of people having trouble with their sabers. This video is kind of a ... support group! haha
