Damn, even at $179 I don't like it. There are just so many other HE options out there now in that price range that offer all HE switches across the board and even 8k polling. I feel like big brand companies like Corsair and SteelSeries are starting to fall behind.
Totally agree with you on the polling rate comments and that’s exactly why I use a .1 ms actuation point because that’s something I definitely can feel while gaming. The key does actuate faster than my last keyboard.
This does actually look surprisingly good. It still has that gamery look thats perpetuated by the floating keycap design but either way it seems super solid for a big gaming company. I REALLY like the knobs and the mode triggers in the top right - really cool that it changes the lighting depending on mode too. Just an all around good choice for getting into Hall Effect at your local Best Buy and thats always gonna be a plus
Fantastic review I’m new to your channel, but I definitely learned something when it comes to the conversation of ABS key cats. Thank you for the detail.
so its basically an 80HE but with much worse software, worse performance/reliability, worse warranty and customer service (corsairs warranty is completely useless from my experience), it doesnt auto calibrate, plate mount stabilisers, practically unmoddable, not even all the keys are HE??? and for the same price as an 80HE? no thanks
Any HE keyboard review essentially boils down to does it do everything that wooting does and does it have extra features or is cheaper, and if the answer is no, you go and buy a wooting
@@zmeyka3310 basically yeah, wooting is the genuinely passionate company that is really leading the industry and wants the best for their customers and everyone else is just trying to profit off of the hype.
@@peanutbutterbean1738I wish you guys would stop sucking off Wooting. They are an unorganized company with sloppy logistics and they are extremely slow and unreliable when it comes to customer service. Yes, their web based keyboard configuration tool is a great alternative to what Corsair offers. But, if you don’t like the Corsair keyboard, just take it back to Best Buy, Amazon, etc. and get your money back. Good luck waiting for Wooting to respond to your return request.
The Drunkdeers and some other brands are significantly cheaper for close performance, other brands are better sounding and better built for the same price, others have cool features like wireless... Wooting is the default choice if you only care about performance and software at the cost of ignoring everything else, which admittedly is something a lot of sweaty gamers want. @@zmeyka3310
"I don't care if you are an 11 year old on 60mg of Adderall with a monster energy sponsorship, you can't" - This may be the greatest single line of any review ever! :)
If wooting released a 75% with a media key or multiple media keys then it would be endgame for me. This board seems like a good product but these companies need to understand that Wooting is the gold standard and you either have to match its performance PLUS extra features OR make it cheaper otherwise there is 0 point in buying it
Adding my personal experience here regarding some of the keys not being hot swap hall effect. For me it definitely is a dealbreaker, because as mentioned in this video i had an original apex pro, which didn't have omnipoint switches across all keys. The omnipoint keys were fantastic, but the arrow keys hardwired to the board started misfiring just out side the warranty, which of course leads to having to replace the entire board. I've now got a wooting 80HE which has complete hot swap across the board, so if you get a malfunctioning switch you can replace that part. Be wary of this, as any issue to a single key will render your entire board useless if you cant replace individual key components.
The Logitech Rapid board just hit preorder, hopefully you can get your hands on that one too to test out. Seems like a good move from them on paper but looking forward to see reviews on it
Hmmm I have an old Corsair K95 (the one with the tramp stamp logo that everyone hated but me) which I love but I don't use the num pad or the Gkeys anymore. This might be my next board.
Have you received/tried the Apex Pro Gen 3? Not much coverage of it out there, and from the few sound tests I've heard, it seems like a nice improvement over the 2023 model.
As someone that has only held out from wooting because the rest of my setup is iCue, this made me happy to see a fairly good review from the man himself, especially since the “downsides” dont bother me at all.
Really appreciate the way Corsair allows you to save settings to hardware, some of their RAM kits and AIO's do that as well. I am not sure why they are trying to get in to the keyboard market though, I feel if you really want a good custom keyboard, you would want something not overpriced and fully customizable, looks to be better than Asus's $500 one though
I would say that for many years, 2010 until 2020, Corsair was the premier gaming keyboard for longevity and quality. I've still got some 15 year old board that work great, they don't have some of the modern features and sound terrible compared to my custom board but they still work after many years of very heaving gaming.
I wish everybody would completely change to PCB mount, Screw in / Clip in stabs. I don't buy a board no matter how cool it is purely because it's plate mount only.
is plate mount fr dat bad? im new to building keebs but my durock v2s plate mount sound way better than my durock v2 screw ins. i did the same stuff to em but couldn't get the screw ins to sound as good as the plate mount. this of course doesn't represent all cases but in my specific case my plate mounts happen to sound better, so are screw ins usually just better?
weird to see something like this be much more expensive than a Drunkdeer A75 with hall effect switches for everything. Truly paying a gamer tax for Corsair with no actual benefits.
When you make certain keys non-hotswap, especially important keys like the arrows, it makes me think twice about your keyboard. But when you also make your board a nightmare to open up, it just comes across as thinly-veiled Planned Obsolescence. That's a hard pass.
My 5+year old k70 mk.2 se is soon to be on its way out as I await my made84 pro delivery. Kb served me well but icue is horrid and has been problematic for my entire time with their products. Bought into their marketing unfortunately including my case fans aswell which will be next to go, maybe during holiday season. Lesson learned tho😅
I feel like 'better than expected' here looks at a really insanely low bar and tries to justify it not being terrible. While it pretty much is when compared to the competition
I have a K70 Max I recently bought and I absolutely adore it. Corsair are making great keyboards these days. If this is anything like the Max people will love it.
I bought a wooting board. It is trash!!!! The inputs just stop working some times and it just disconnects. I went and got the huntsman v3 maybe it will work. Nope same shit. Returning them done with this near keyboard hype. It doesn't help and just gets me upset 😂

Love the shine through double shot key cap options and the layout, so that's something.

"Better than expected".
Yet by any measure it's objectively worst than other boards already on the market. Nice.

The AKKO 007B Santorini still beats this board on price and performance and software. Should do a review on it, it’s a really good HE board.
Nah....the performance is still not there yet, at least for me
@@8yearsdogPerformance is there on mine. lol
Why is it that even with so many good stock keyboards, you still have to lube the space bar? I don't get it.
naa beard man I finally refreshed all my peripherals ,do not tempt me with new hardware
the fact that the arrow keys and the enture board isnt HE is a HUGE L in my books. corsair hella cheaped out. bad kb.
I had 2 Corsair boards both I gave away due to the software. 4 years I gave Corsair to improve their glitchy inconsistent crap. Never again.

So that mean Logitech is last brand gonna get HE keyboard they really fall hard

3 Corsair K70 TLK video notifications at the same time 🤔
Embargo just lifted
I use the arrow keys for my games, so this keyboard is a no for me.
It looks like a $25 Aliexpress keyboard :|
Corsair pioneered the modern gaming keyboard. Show some respect.
i will once the fix icue
Full TKLs look so outdated and ugly to me. Also moving the function row to the right for no reason is a big no from me. At least it sounds good.
