I love pho!! But me being Korean, your comment doesnt sit well with me hahah. Again I love pho, but there is certain korean soups/jjigaes that cant be beat (all my own opinion)
Vietnamese food and really Asian food in general is so good and so good for you. We need more Vietnamese Resturaunts all over the USA I used to live outside of Philadelphia in deleware county, and there is a Vietnamese Resturaunt there, I forget the name but it’s a pink and teal blue sign with a pig on it and they make the best Vietnamese food in that whole area, now I moved about an hour away in Delaware state and now I never get to rly go there anymore. I miss it bad, and to boot the Vietnamese spots around here can’t even hold a candle to my other place 😂😅😢
I could eat pho evry day its my favorite food and im Mexican i asked my chef how to make it and all he said there is alot of things that go in it thank you for this recepie my man.
I think Mexican people love this soup because of how similar it is to caldo de res, my dad says that it tastes like barbacoa to him, probably because of all the spices.
Not only the tastiest soup but legitimately the most nutririous and healthiest soup. All the collagen protein and iron from the meat, all the spices and aromatics that detox your gut, the veggies full of fibre and the broth is rich in minerals boiled out of the food. Pho is the goat soup
Oh my god this looks INCREDIBLE! I don’t know much about Vietnamese cuisine as many of the places with it in Dublin are Asian fusion and it’s hard to find something very authentic...I just subscribed and I think I need to make this! I have a great butcher who is one of the rare ones you can get bones and even things like oxtail because most are just full of prepackaged boring cuts now. I really got to dig into some Vietnamese food! ❤️From🇮🇪
Had some mexican homies try it one time and to my surprise, they really didnt like it! They took one or two bites and left it, so I ended up finishing their bowls 😂
I usually soak my beef neck bones and oxtail in a little vinegar and water and salt so impurities come out. Then I boil and I do not let broth go waste because to me the first boil has a lot of flavor!! on e I boil and keep taking out impurities as I go then out on low heat! For at least 2-3 hrs!!
Phô is a must soup for most Mexican people like myself!! It represents the extreme wealth of delicious flavors of the Vietnamese cuisine, highly appreciated by the entire world!!!
So that’s why there’s so many Mexican in my restaurant. Well, one of the most at least. And for drink, they tend to mostly pick strawberry smoothie. I have this Mexican little girl, who looks to be around 8-10 years old, who always take her family to my Vietnamese restaurant for a strawberry smoothie with tapioca.
I like the idea of the meat left on the bone n not stripped off yummy 😋, I eat pho at the same viet restaurant at least 3 times a week n the place is always packed out all day long, some places I’ve been too make it too sweet but this place it’s perfect n all ingredients marry so well together, I’m gonna give this one a go at home👍🙏
I don't know if it is the same as chao-long because some migrant Vietnamese here in Palawan Philippines cooks a very good dish they call chao-long together with rice bread they are perfect combo yum2x😋😋
Is there a difference between just putting the toasted spices into a cloth bag and boiling it, and putting the toasted spices directly into the water and then draining it?
Thanks for the recipe. I just left the California bay and my favorite pho place and move to Texas. So I guess I have to start to make it because where I live everything is far.
Just made some yesterday 🤤never gets old the only difference I did is put the roasted spices with the onions..meaning it was simmering for two hours..is that okay?
Man... I remember when Ramen (from Japan only) was my favorite but somehow Pho slowly surpassed it!!! I literally can eat it every day and sip that broth every day!!!!
I need this pho. I need this in my life. It would be a 2 hour drive for me to get the McDonald's version of some pho. I gotta go get that stock pot real quick.
I eat pho every other day and have made it a few times. White people love ghis stuff too. Its easy on the stomach and is my goto cure my hangover food with a lemon water and sprite. mmmmmm the best.

To be honest, I sort of saw this as a bit more complex, Asian version of caldo de res. Looks good

Question can leave out the fish sauce.. because of shellfish allergies!!
Those are real first bite reactions right there 😂❤
I need to ask, what does the washing achieve? Will it not dilute the overall broth? If you couldn't guess, I have no clue about this process.
Im guessing it's to wash off all the scum and congealed blood and such.
i think it makes cleaning excess grease, it will not dilute the broth, you can season it several times to your taste
