- Today on 'The Arise Interview', we tell the incredible story of the immortal Afro-Rock Band, OSIBISA -@osibisaofficial
In the Studio: Founder Teddy Osei, Wendell Richardson & Robert Corich
Still love Osibisa, especially ❤ with the original line up of an Antiguan 🇦🇬 , a Grenadian 🇬🇩 and a Trinidadian 🇹🇹.
Allow me to say that Osibisa was huuuge in the West Indies, in my youthful days.

One hell of a drummer, great soul
God bless our motherland Ghana with the greatest talented people 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭✊
Fantastic!! Saw them on their first Aussie tour in Melbourne, their second tour whilst in Brisbane, however, the best time I had was when they came to Cairns.
My job at the time was the 'house drummer', and was given the job to pick them up from the airport, take them shopping, then deliver them to the club for a two night performance.
To my awesome surprise on their final night, Robert and Teddy both invited me up on stage to perform with them. When they gave me a drum solo, I had such a blast playing criss-cross rhythms with those guys....Fan-bloody-tastic!! I will never forget them.....ever!!
Saw them twice when they performed in Melbourne, Australia. One of the most exciting performances I’ve ever seen!
Proud Ghanaian
Love osibisa
African at home and those abroard coming together in the expression of love and unity, beautiful music.💚💛❤️
First heard Osibisa when I was a teenager in Denver, Colorado in 1973. I found Woyaya in a record store bargain rack and bought it solely because of the Roger Dean album cover! And I fell madly in love with the whole band, and Dell Richardson in particular.
one and only osibisa
I’m so fortunate to have seen them many times. Their biggest hit Sunshine Day is not really representative of their work which is utterly fabulous and more African than the big hit.
I saw them live in Sydney Hordern Pavilion in the early 70s and I have photos of them that I took on my 35mm camera😊 I loved them. then, and I still play their music nowadays 👍
I heard that song on radio in Singapore year 1992
Then I heard the same song played by a Malaysian band on new year eve Jan 2023. ...
Osibisa songs are timeless..
🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭 OSIBISA
God Bless Teddy, the master. he is getting old. Dell.... one of the greatest guitarists of all time. what is Osibisa's greatest achievements? inspiring musicians everyday!

OSIBISA
Sir Thicquille thanks you
Osibisa is a famous 🌲 tree in Africa
Better than Pink stink Floyd and Mike Jackson
WENDELL RICHARDSON needs to smile more........................
There is no love lost between Del and Teddy, if truth be told. He's never been enamored by the "Ghana mafia' in Osibisa and has never hidden that.
That his personality, like me, may I say.
Wished I had seen them back then.
the interviewer needs to be warmer
@@TosingerT Yes, I agree. Mr. Osei seemed to be trying to say that the hit of The Comets was "Pata Pata", which would have been interesting to know about, Osibisa having played that song some years on (maybe there is a story about that!), but the interviewer spoke over him and did not let him say it. Also, one of the first things Mr. Richardson says is that he uses the name "Dell" now instead of "Wendell", and for the rest of the interview, the interviewer just calls him "Wendell" (and even "Wendy" by mistake!).
They are all have African blood. End of Story
They are all have... End of English
