Founder and star member of Osibisa, Teddy Osei, has been talking to Arise as a special guest of Talking Africa. Osibisa are one of the greatest bands to have come from Africa, having released 22 albums, had six number one hits and played a pivotal role in developing an awareness of African music among European and North American audiences.

Hello to Teddy. I played guitar with Cats Paw for a while . I remember Teddy came to my house one night and told me he was changing the name of the band to Osibisa which meant "Fire". I did not like the name and quit being a member, which I truly regret............. JIMMY from Barbados,

Osibisa have always said the name Osibisa means criss cross rythms that explode with happiness, Fire was one of their earliest songs.
