@@AnasNoBuyYear2025 I'm traveling less in 2025, so I don't anticipate I'll have to do anything different. My daughter and I spent 2022 to 2024 house sitting, volunteering, and getting free food and accommodation. I saved so much money that way! When I decided to settle down and rent an apartment, my living expenses went up quite a bit so I am just trying to readjust.
Good luck!! I feel like so many of us are finally giving it a try next year. I’ve been thinking about doing it forever but figured there will never be a perfect time to do it and I should just go for it
I just realized that I have been wanting to do this without knowing what to call it. Financial concerns have pushed me to it and I am excited to follow you on your journey and having that motivation in participating with my own no buy journey - I hope you reach all your goals ❤
@@TheTeaArtist I didn’t talk about it in this video since it’s not the biggest focus for my no buy year, but I also created some goals for myself around grocery shopping. One of them was only buying one “treat” when I grocery shop (basically anything I don’t actually need that’s just for fun) and also not buying any new items just to try them. I have regretted soooo many of the sauces and random stuff I’ve bought just to try bc I either never use it or I try it once and hate it. What is the thing that’s making grocery shopping hard? Are you like me and just buying stuff you regret or are the basics just outrageously expensive?
@ I’m glad it’s not just us! It’s hard to tell what is a normal range and what is way over board. We range anywhere between $900 USD and $1,100 for a family of 3
Hi Ana! I am doing no buy January and seeing if I can extend it. I was really inspired by the Frugal Grocery Girl who has been doing a $25 per week grocery challenge. I am single with a corgi so this might be doable for me. I want to start a channel so seeing you just starting out is inspirational! Best of Luck!!!
@@MadisonBriggsArtchick good luck on your challenges! Groceries is one area I am not changing much because it feels too big and overwhelming, so I am super impressed with anyone who does it. And I hope you’re able to just start your channel also - I decided to let go of my expectations of perfection and just make very simple videos with no editing lol that makes it less daunting.
I have watched a few of these videos and I really wonder if people are focusing on the wrong thing. We really like to make systems of rules and stuff for ourselves, but I feel like if you tried to fill up your time with things you love to do instead of making sure you don't buy stuff, you'll find that you bought less stuff.
@@grreeeeee I totally hear what you mean and honestly I agree with you. I think ideally we would all be so busy spending our time on meaningful things that bring us true joy that we wouldn’t even need to do stuff like this. I really hope to get there soon. But for me right now I feel like I don’t even know what I like to do?? It’s truly sad but I feel like I don’t have hobbies since I spent so much of my life making my job my whole life and identity and although I’ve shifted that mindset, I still haven’t identified what are the things I want to spend my time on (outside of just spending quality time with my loved ones). Hoping that alongside this effort to eliminate shopping as a hobby, that I can find real hobbies I like to do instead.
