True story: some of these factories are so goodt you can’t even tell. ❤ I’m sticking with the factories boo. That’s how you do it. I have many authentic bags and reps from factories *suluxy* and when I tell you they legit have them down pack you can’t even tell that’s how good they have gotten. Be smart ladies!

That is a good idea even though she shot it down. I was thinking perhaps she can take up a hobby that deals with her hands and her head like knitting or crocheting.... Something that she can take with her but also something that will give her sense of satisfaction and that's dopamine hit when she completes it.

I don’t know if you want advice from an old woman but here it is. I’m 69 and retired when I was younger. I never spent money on designer or luxury or anything. I just worked and saved my money. I have security now ,my house and cars are paid off. I would recommend that you save your money for when you’re older ,you really need to be feeling good with no debt in your life. I don’t have to worry about having enough money to go to the grocery store that feels like freedom to me.😊

My no spend year started a few days ago. I have so far bought absolutely nothing that is unnecessary and it feels like a superpower. I have been tempted, sure, but realizing I have the power to say no and save that money feels even better than giving in to temptation. Someone said, "If you have the means to be shopping all the time, you have the means to be saving all the time." And now saving money is my new hobby.

Me too, i bought so much in a couple of years, i need discipline, i need accountability, i need to better my relationship with God, i need to repent from lust of the flesh/ eyes
I can't just be buying things because i like them, this is absolutely sinful
God didn't give us this money only for us to waste it on unnecessary purchases.
We need to just make a U TURN and repent!!!
Its ok to buy if needed, but lets be honest, everything we buy is actually not needed.
This is why God cannot trust people with wealth, because then we abuse it and begin to buy unnecessary things and lost our relationship with God
GOD PLEASE HELP US from this bad habit.

A few years ago I implemented two rules which were game changers for me. First rule: only shop in the 24 hours after being paid. If I see something online it goes into the cart until payday but I rarely buy it. I did just get an item which was in my cart xFOUR MONTHS until it was on sale.
Rule two: I have to be willing to give up TWO SIMILAR items to bring home an item (unless it's a 1:1 replacement). I often struggle to find two current items that I'm willing to give up in order to get the new one.
FYI: be careful with hobbies, they create a whole new level of things to buy. Ask me how I know 😉

    1 rule: no new clothes
    2 rule: no eating out
    3 rule: no credit cards
    4 rule: no retail therapy
    5 rule: "delayed" shopping
6 rule: only restock when needed
7 rule: no duplicates (nail polish, lipstick, bags...)
8 rule: sale something old if buying something new
9 rule: don't pay full price (discounts, sales, wait for a better deal)
10 rule: don't have to be bougie about everything.

We pay the bills at the beginning of the month, spend very little during the month for the most part, write down what we want/ need to buy during the month, then re-allocate/ budget the left over money. And this is when that list generated during the month comes into play. Interestingly enough, often many of the items arent as important 1 to 30 days later.

@@Dani-qh6ho rearrange and pay them as you choose during the payment period. I WOULD NOT arrange to change the actual due date. Having the actual, due dates a little scattered, enables you to juggle better if there is a problem, glitch, or unplanned expense. If you are talking about credit card and variable interest debt, the interest on this type of debt is most often calculated on the amount owed daily in one way or another. For many, paying early in the payment period has Dvantages over paying on the last possible day.

Commenting again - you were talking about REAL money - this works for me, also I found I need to WRITE DOWN my budget ON PAPER, not use an app. I use a pocket calendar for this, I save my receipts and write down any purchases in the calendar on the date of purchase, with a short note on what I bought. At the end of the week I sum it all up and same at the end of the month. I has REALLY helped me to understand the value of money.

Thinking about a thing for 2 weeks before buying it. If you are not spending...also the replace shoes or clothes when they wear out. Nothing is going to wear out in 3 months and if it does you probably have more than one like the medium brown purses 😊. Just saying don't allow any outs before you get started. When I go out I make sure I have filling snacks in my vehicle. I have three kiddos so eating out adds up!!! I will even go so far as to pack a small cooler with cheese sticks etc.
I also try to stick to A grocery day. So if we run out of something before the next grocery day, we make do and add that item to the grocery list for next time.
I also have been returning to making many things myself. So it's not overwhelming, I wait until we run out of some before I start making it. For example, we just ran out of laundry soap, so I am now making my own.
With kids, I keep powdered milk in the house and use that in recipes that call for milk. We save the jugs of fresh milk for drinking and cereal.

Hi, I’d suggest if you’re going to be hanging your debit card to someone for paying- just use cash. If someone skims your debit card, that’s your own money and sometimes banks don’t reimburse. If they swipe your credit card, it’s not your money. Card skimming is a huge thing. Also check gas pumps before using your debit card- skimmers are placed in those super easy. Wishing you and everyone in the chat a happy 2025!!!
