You need to mix that halo halo.
Vegetarian dishes: should try eating Lumpia Sariwa (veggie spring rolls), Ginataan gulay Kalabasa (Squash and string beans with coconut milk), Sauteed Bitter Melon, Ginataan Langka ( Jackfruit done with coconut milk), Laing (Taro leaves filled with lemongrass, onion, garlic, ginger, labuyo chili, and shrimp), Pinakbet, Ginisiang Sayote (Sauteed chayote, carrots, oyster sauce with chicken). Adobong Kangkong with Tofu (Water Spinach Adobo with Tofu), Tortang Talong ( Eggplant Omelet), Ensaladang Talong ( Eggplant mixed with ginger, onion, tomatoes and vinegar).
Most vloggers are just familiar to maybe 3-5 Filipino dishes....but we have more to that. Hundreds, varying per region and ethnic groups. Usual Filipino dishes are fusion of Spanish-Filipino cuisine. Many vloggers will compare our food to Thailand, or Indonesia, but have not tasted yet the many dishes we have----caldereta, adobo, mechado, afritada, estofado, menudo, rebosado, morcon, embutido, higado, and many many many more.

I never mixed it. I liked the heterogeneity. To each his own. Halo halo doesnt mean mix mix, that's the definition of stupid people. (Its like saying tabi tabi is side side ang kumpol kumpol is cluster cluster, that's not how the filipino language work if you have listened to your filipino class) Hslo halo just means that it is a mixture of different things, and you can eat that mixture however the fuck you want.

Hello Catherine Deneuve and Harry Belafonte of the Netherlands! 1/3 of my family have become vegan over the past 10-15 years, which complicated our family gatherings and restaurant outings. So now we prepare a vegan counterpart for every traditional Filipino dish, the meat substitute being jackfruit. As a non-vegan, I've been impressed and can say it could have fooled me if I did not know. BTW, I'm sure you've received lots of comments already by now about the "proper" way to best enjoy halo-halo, you mix and mix and mix til its almost liquid and purple and drinkable, so Harry scores a Pinoy point👍

I just hope people in these Filipino restos will always teach our foreigner guest how to properly mix their halo-halo so they can enjoy and really taste how good this dessert is.
Yes, you're vert right about that. The best way to eat halo-halo is when it's already properly mixed. That's when you truly get to appreciate how delicious it is. It's our pride, Filipino pride. One of the best desserts in the world. The need therefore to advise foreigners to mix properly well first, before eating.

What you eat is halo halo it is compose of sweet kidney beans, banana, jackfruit, jelatine, mongo beans, macapuno kind of coconut, ube halaya, lecheflan, ube icecream and milk those are the ingridients of halo halo you have to mix it everything together with crush ice all are sweet so you dont need sugar anymore

Big restaurants do tend to serve meat, but pilipino eat a lot pf vegetables. Its a tropical country there is so much fruits and vegetables

Try to eat our beef or pork nilaga beef pork stew and also beef bulalo you will love it. Also beef caldereta and beef afritada most of our food is more spanish bcoz we are colonize by spaniards and american and japanese that we have very good food here

Halo-halo means Mix-Mix in English. You have to mix all the ingredients first: the ice cream, the leche flan, and the cheese. Then you just put everything in your spoon and top it with ice cream, leche flan, and cheese.

Well the proper way to eat that halo halo is you should crushed that ice formation on your glass by using your spoon until it melt a little and it becomes into a liquid formatoin and at that time you gonna stir it up by your spoon so that all the ingredients will gonna mix up with one another thats why its name is derive into HALO HALO and by translation it basically means Mix mix.. meaning mix all first the ingredients before eating/drinking it ..

6:30 You can eat it whichever you want.😊 But there are really good stores that cater these foods like the sisig which originated in Pampanga and halo-halo in Cavite. And the difference is way too far in taste. The malls is the copycat.😅
Sisig is just a drinking food. Children and women who dont go to bars and drink alcohol need not eat this food item. No one actually eats Sisig with rice.

The peach mango pie recommendation is like someone going to US for the first time and being told to go to McDonald's for their apple pie. Good but you could get that anywhere. Desserts to try: taho from a street vendor, polvoron, turon, karioka, fresh mango, ginataan bilo bilo, bibingka, cassava cake, mamon, esaymada, biko, suman, puto bumbong, buko pie
Ah you wish! The peach mango you won’t get anywhere 😞 No Jollibee and for sure no peach mango pie here in Europe! I did wanted to try a lot of other desserts, but they were just so hard to find!

I wonder if you could have made an arrangement with the restaurant to have the food served Spanish tapas style since you're pretty much sampling half the menu.
Haha that’s actually so smart 🤩 Didn’t think about it! But luckily we had an Airbnb with kitchen so we ate all the food later!

Except for sisig which is supposedly a drinking food that only a few people care about.
