Yunnan Figs - The Sweet Fruit Spanning the Entire Spring and Summer

In Yunnan, people can have figs from February to September. On different hills, there are different fruits in all shapes and sizes and in varying growing environments, but they all taste sweet. We call those small in size “zha ou”, or “wild figs”. We call the big fruit on fig trees “trunk fruit” or “ice jelly fruit”. Both are wild fruits. There are purple-skinned figs that can be grown all year round. Their common characteristic is sweetness, which is refreshing but not cloying.

All grandmothers seem to say that. I bet they all know what scarcity and hunger was, at least mine did. Which is why she always had full cupboards and tables of food when good times came.

I have never seen Penji eat so much of any fruit. Figs must be her favorites like me. Figs remind me of my grandmother. She had one beside the smokehouse which I monitored closely every year. Figs are a true pleasure. Enjoy your videos. Thank you for the hard work and dedication.

In my garden in the open field, the figs ripen in August and we can eat them until November. And our ducklings love figs. There are many fig trees growing on your hills. Different varieties. I liked the idea of pizza with figs and cheese. Greetings from Romania!I ❤ you Dawang ❤❤
