I’ve learned a lot about the game by randomly watching 3 of your videos . I’m a level 25 and have only been playing 2 months. I wish I would have watched the videos *before* I started playing because I have been struggling with the initial layout of my city and limited land expansion,. Thanks for wanting to make us better players!
Each specialty building has an area of effect, a population boost, an epic point value, and a cost. The Epic point value ranges from 1 to 4 and it is how many points you get for completing a task that is generated from that specialty building when doing an epic project upgrade. I'm also including a link to a video that explains the point value of the buildings. th-cam.com/video/46LY2IMVvM8/w-d-xo.html
Hey man. I've got two silver epic buildings but I am not able to collect silver tokens. What's the issue? Whenever I tap there to collect, it says use speed up tokens in commercial buildings. What should I do?
Going from memory here, so the numbers may be off. If you have more than 10 of a particular speed up token (this applies to all 3 types; bronze, silver, and gold respectively and individually), you are no longer able to collect the token shards (can't remember what they are called) from epic buildings that can form a speed up token. So you have to use speed up tokens and get the amount you have below 10 (I actually think it's different for each type, like 20 bronze, 15 silver, and 10 gold, but I can't remember) in order to collect more pieces from the epic building. I hope that makes sense.
Do different types of epic buildings have a different amount of population? Let's say does having a llama epic building will give the city more population than the turtle epic building?
@@masjwar I have been trying to find the answer to a question close to the one you just answered but slightly different. I suppose I have my answer but please correct me if I am mistaken. What I was wondering is if the epic building that you get after the 24 hours is over is a different designed building via bronze, silver or gold levels. I assume it isnt since you say the population isnt different. Which leads to more questions because I am not sure I have seen any population boost after an epic building is completed. Is there even any pop boost at all or am I just not noticing it? Also it seems really lame for there to not be different epic buildings based on bronze, silver & gold levels. I really dont care too much about the speed boosts. I would rather work for better artistic values or population in general. I am at level 24 & I just dont have enough good buildings that provide enough epic points to even get beyond bronze. My best specialization is the beach at this time. And you are right, the 1 point epic buildings are hell. Many times I get stuck with the same goal for 1 point epic buildings as I do for 3 point epic buildings. (To make matters worse they often come at the same time which leaves me with very few choices) Having to produce 4 paints for just 3 epic points? Not even 4 epic points is worth that! So I can see why speed ups help but unless you have a shit ton saved up you are still stuck with the same nightmare.
Okay stupid question but I don't understand the 2 point 4 point building reference. Also what's the difference between the different specialization buildings and why does it matter?
At 6:17 I try to show various buildings and the points they will generate for epic building upgrades. So when trying to do an epic buiding upgrade what happens is each specialty building (up to a maximum of 7 at any one time I think) has a chance of offering a task you can complete to earn points. Depending what level you want to attain in regards to your epic building (bronze, silver, or gold) you need more points total. I know the point values have changed since I made this video. If you have less than 7 specialty buildings in whatever specialty you pick, you have less total options for tasks to complete. If the specialty building you have give just 1 point for each task completed, and you need 60 total points (as an example), that is 60 tasks. But if your specialty buildings generate 3 points for each task completed, you only need to do 20 total tasks. Thus the more points the buliding gives per task (1, 2, 3, or 4 points) the easier it is it is to complete overall. Other than names of the final epic building being different based on specialization you choose, there are only two things I think that matter in regards to why specialization matters. 1) each epic building in a specialization costs more, so that can become very expensive if you do all epic buildings in the same specialization. 2) the buildings you have of each specialization, and how many points they let you get for tasks completed matters in the difficulty of doing the epic project. Fewer specialty buildings or fewer high point task buildings make it difficult. Hope that helps.
Random question that has nothing to do with this, but there are no more hardhats popping up over my homes unless they’re Brand new, and they aren’t even big buildings, they’re just tall apartment buildings, I’m seeing all of these people with like huge skyscrapers at level 24, I’m level 27 and my buildings won’t get any bigger and I don’t know why, what’s going on?
Try putting at least 2 different specialization buildings around, demolish the bad looking building and rebuild it,it will make it a skyscraper for sure ;)
I guess it depends on what you consider worthy. If population matters to a player then it might be a personal goal. Depending where that population comes from, generating simoleons or neosimoleons might be important.
You mention NOT doing epic buildings until you have enough specialization buildings that provide 3 or 4 epic points. But that brings up more questions. 1) What even triggers the epic buildings in the first place? I dont even know why all the sudden epic buildings became an option for me. I know I had 60 buildings when the first epic building was triggered. But its not like I leveled up or anything like that. They just started offering epic buildings when I was in the middle of level 24. Maybe its level 24 that triggers it. Maybe its 60 buildings. Do you know? 2) What are the implications of NOT trying to attain bronze, silver or gold for an epic build? Do you still get the epic building after the 24 hours runs out but without any chance for speed ups? 3) Assuming you wanted stall or delay any & all epic builds such as you suggested....exactly how would you go about doing that?
Okay I just realized I know the answer to question 3 about delaying an epic project. Duh! I totally forgot that they ask you to purchase the option to start the project. My bad. But the other two questions I would really appreciate some answers or explainations. Thanks!
I have level 24,dep of epic project, specialization buildings and a lot of fully upgraded residential zones but I cant start an epic project. The icon don't appear.WHY?
When I used to play, whatever level you reached was permanent. You were not allowed to try again, or improve upon your epic status. Not sure if that has changed as I haven't played in years.
I 100% reccomed $150-180K before beginning- and join a club, any club before beginning. If you dont like your club, leave, and get ro another vlub fast. ASK for help, offer help, and be nice and you can get to Gold Epic.
Well... politely... I have four 4 point epic buildings in that specialization as I recall. The rest are 3 point. I have helpful club mates. I have a decent bank sitting at about 2 million simoleons. I try to keep my stores producing all the time. So with that said I have a lot of what I need and what I don't I can buy from club members most times or find on the global market otherwise. But the 4 point epic buildings are huge. That's only 27 tasks at 4 points each to hit 98 points. Normally I wouldn't go (much) past 80, but I had a second contest assignment that round I'm pretty sure.
1) Could you possibly sound a little more bored? The narration was just too keyed-up for me, especially when talking about something like a video game.2) Can you use a few more words to explain everything, and go more slowly? I didn't feel like you really talked for long enough about every last little thing, or repeated yourself quite as many times as I would have liked.3) Um. YOU DIDN'T ADDRESS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, WHICH IS HOW TO *COLLECT* THE SPEEDUP TOKENS AFTER THE BUILDINGS ARE UPGRADED.
Nice video! Thanks for the tips, just started the epic project on one of my buildings and was very confused until I watched this, thank you.
Glad it was helpful

No. An epic is an epic regardless in regards to total population. All three are the same.

Try to make your city smart, what’s your current population? I’m level 29 with 470,000 population
I could be wrong but I'm not entirely sure everyone is going to automatically understand what you mean with the comment "try to make your city smart".
