@@cygnusustus I really shouldn't respond to the naive pointless really. This passage in Leviticus was used as a war strategy against corrupt people. With your logic we should let Criminals run the streets and ruin everyone's day. People like you never respond back because your arguments fail.
Many people would benefit from being a slave. Fact is some people need a master and have little to no skills. The word slave is demonized into something it isn’t. To be a Christian is to be a slave of Christ. Slave is close to an apprenticeship, not a hopeless existence. Real hopelessness is someone incapable, without skills and knowledge. With a master there is hope, the skills and knowledge handed down through the master gives such hope. Some people stick to victim mentality, rather than admitting there is a problem. They should humble themselves, seek help, and move on from the comfortable and familiar place of being a victim.

Leviticus 25:44-46 precisely describes chattel slavery:
"Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids. Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.
And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour."
