Not sure what’d be better. P.S. Is it bad that I knew when you were taking that intake to Blackout it was for Xpel on the little window 😆?
lol no it's not bad, anyone who knows me should know by now I XPEL everything! Honestly, the intake helped MASSIVELY with throttle response it's the weirdest thing. Great video and clean install! About 10 years ago I had a conversation with my high school buddy who went onto be an aerospace engineer. I had asked him about screens that might be installed in intakes, of at the inlet of MAF sensors, etc. He explained that those screens usually help create small eddies of wind current that smooth out the air flow, which helps the sensors get better averages. My guess, based on his explanation, is that your new air filter does a better job of providing smooth air flow than the stock one that had the screen in it. But, who knows for sure. LOL.
Justin the screen straightens the air out to the maf sensor. Also the stingray isn't a forced induction motor and doesn't require any better filter then maybe a BMS filter.
It's definitely interesting that the new intake doesn't have that screen then. There's definitely a reason why the intake doesn't add any extra power for the stingray and you're right if I had to guess it's because it's not forced induction.

My main concern is I don’t want any engine issues or check engine lights and I don’t wanna deal with any type of tuning.
Honestly, the best bang for your buck is going to still be the attack blue air filter. The cost of the GM performance intake is a lot higher with minimal additional gains over the Attack Blue. I added an aFe to my C7, according to my (most excellent) mechanic he said maybe 5 - 10 HP in the upper range. The most I've gotten is a little better noise and maybe a little quicker throttle response (and it looks cool). A lot more expensive than the ones I added to my C5, C6's....

Thanks boss. And the discount code? ZR1 took all my money!
I wish I had one. No sponsorship here. I paid full price for it.
No hp for stingray or gs.. guess I’ll use my money elsewhere..and keep the stock
Still waiting for the before and after videos of the exhaust
My car has been laid up waiting for new tires... 🤦♂️
@@HorsePowerObsessed i hear ya! getting the cup2's?
Yes sir. I already got the tires I'm just having trouble finding somebody who can mount them...
@@HorsePowerObsessed i went through the same thing here no dealership would do it then i found a tire place and they ruined one of my rims a nd they had to buy me another one so be careful. i finally found a place called tire time they specialize in the bro's rims like ridding on 27" if you no what i mean . No chevy dealership would do it
seems like a lot of money and time just for a better looking intake, the only power difference you are going to feel is in your head, better intake sucking sound and you,ll hear the whine of the SC a little more, without a tune its 99.9% window dressing, but hey to each his own if you have the $ to do it,and if you own a C7 ZO6 you can afford it!.lol btw very cool looking intake!
Straight from GM, this intake gains 17HP on a dyno with the ZR1 and I definitely notice smoother shifts from 1st to 2nd gear where the stock airbox felt like it was choking the engine. Definitely not in my head. It is a bit expensive, but worth it. These aren't wild claims by someone trying to sell you snake oil, this is straight from GM tested on their cars.
How many filters are u going to try man? Jus get a car with all that you spent. You have had stock, bms, attack blue and now this. Jus get a tune and a 103 throttle body and your set
lol I'm looking for that perfect match and I think I found it here. I'm trying to get numbers for all the filters out there so people know exactly what they are going to get.
This is the same I've heard which is why I was so surprised with the GM performance one. I could literally feel the difference in driveability and that's something completely new to me.
I got 8 more horses on my c7 and quicker throttle response
@@HorsePowerObsessed So i won't feel any difference at all even if i get the bigger one on the C7 stingray or G/S?
even just sound or feeling?
I got 8 more horses on my c7 and quicker throttle response
You won't get any extra horsepower but there still will be a difference in drivability due to the extra space for air.
If there’s no gain for my stingray, no sense buying it
17 horsepahr.
🤣🤣🤣
