    Have Anakee Adventures on my 1250gsj just turned 8000kms - massive improvement on the previous Anakees, I have total confidence in them as riding in both dry/wet conditions,and a lot less noisy coming from the front.I have used Metzler Roadtec O1,didn't like them as they didn't give confidence inspiring feedback in bends etc.
    The tyres I liked the best on the GS going back over the years are the Metzler Tourance range,and the NXT series ticks all the boxes. 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

    I subscribed a year back when I was researching my R1200GS.... for the 1200GS content. The arrival of the 850 had my mouse pointer hovering over the "Unsubscribe" button as it was obvious future content wouldn't really appeal to me as much. Then Mark started overtly over-compensating.... which is hilarious. I'm torn. LOL

      Glad you decided to stay buddy. The content wont always be about the 850 as Toby has his 1200 still and no plans to change that one, as well as other reviews etc coming soon :) ride safe

    I am riding a 1200GSA LC from 2015 with exactly the same tires. Now I will almost need to replace the front tire after 6000 miles which I think is not a bad mileage. The rear tire is still in extreme good condition so probably I can use it for another 6000 miles (let us hope). I must say that I a very careful driver (not at all sportive). Till now I have always felt very safe with them. Let us see what this autumn and winter will bring... Ride safe!!!

    I had them on my GSA and liked them but they wore quickly and unevenly. Replaced them with Conti Trail Attack 3s and love them, very grippy wet or dry and have given me a lot more confidence. But tyres are a very personal thing, by the way Annakee 3s were noisy and scary in the wet.

    Mark, I love how you've argued in the past that you got the F850 GSA because you can use your old panniers on it, but then went on and bought new one's for it. :P

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      they are the same panniers that were on the 1200GSA, fit straight onto the rack

    I love the handling and grip on the A41s. Have them on my 1200 gsa with 1500 miles on them now and they are great in the wet too. Mine are hardly worn at that mileage. Should be good for 6000 miles rear easy. The profile hasn't altered or started squaring off and they instill complete confidence in all conditions. I'm quite an aggressive rider and do push the bike...these feel as good grip-wise as I've had and are better than some. I wouldn't ride a bike with Anikees in the wet. The Anikee ii tyres were ok...the 3's not so good. People who had them on new gs bikes were changing them for A41s which thankfully do appear on a lot of new bmws now.

    • @TheTripleDubya
      @TheTripleDubya 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here, noisy tyre but very good grip even when really pushed. I would like to go a 50/50 tyre but I have no real experience with them, so far as I've heard the Pirelli's or Karoo 3's are the better for grip but wear accordingly.

    I had the 41's on my 1250GS for about 1500 miles, can't say they ever let me down but seemed un-predictable when it came to lines. Changed to Michelin Road 5 trail's and a huge difference felt a lot more confidence with them, and turned in much better, but as you say never got to the limit with the Bridgestones. Will be interesting to see how you fare on a lighter bike. Love the Chanel keep up the good work :-)

    Ran Anakee 3's for 3 sets over 4 years on a DL650 with absolutely no issues in the wet. Now run Road 5's as I never did enough gravel to even look at a 80/20 90/10 tire.

    I have a friend who has gold wheels on his GSA . I mentioned how great they looked . His reply was they are a "bugger" to keep clean , much more so than black wheels !
    Just his opinion of course .
    Nice bike by the way .
    I traded in my Honda Crossrunner for a F800GT , mainly for the weight only 313 kilos . Only takes 15 lites of petrol , but currently getting 67 mpg .

    I just purchased a set of these to replace the T-31's I had on my Super Tenere. Some seem to really like them and others, not so sure. I figured I would give them a go. The tread depth on the front is 4 mm and the rear is 9mm with a tread depth gauge.

    No chicken strips and only 300 miles? Any metal left on the hero blobs? You Hoon!!! My Panicythrees are getting to the end of their life on my GS, and as I do not intend to go off-road (not skilful enough!) I thought I might go for Pirelli Angel GT's. Got 8-9K out of them on my R1100S and were really good in rain and awesome in the dry

  • @timothydubber549
    @timothydubber549 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Never understood the ‘panicky 3’ nonsense. Nothing wrong with the Anakee 3s in the wet, and I’m seriously fussy about tyres and tyre feel.
    Not quite as good a wet grip as the Road 5, but not far off.

  • @gordon4221
    @gordon4221 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The thing about tyres is that folks have a preconceived idea of how they are going to be knowing what they are. Most riders will rarely get anywhere near the capability of the tyre assuming it is correctly specified for the bike you are riding, is fit for purpose and is produced by a reputable manufacturer with a proven track record for R & D.
    The A41's will not let you down. My 1250gs came with Anakee adventures - didn't think I would like them but I was wrong. The truth is they are correctly specified, fit for purpose and manufactured by Michelin who know how to make tyres.
    Did your bike come with one of these new fancy non lube chains ? Is this a game changer ? - we will see. Thanks for posting the video - good stuff as usual.

      Gordon hiya thanks for the information. This bike came with a standard chain as the ‘new’ super chain is only for the top end sports bikes for the moment.... However I’ll be getting one as soon as it’s ready for this bike. Ride safe.

    Mitchelin road-5's, on a road bike obviously, the dog's or as the in crowd say "banging". The "crowd" know feck all.
    Every bike is different, different handling characteristics, you do not get many bad bike tires today.
    The IMPORTANT bit is to check your bikes user manual where you will find a recommendation fitment size, weight, etc
