Tim Cook has been a surprisingly great CEO of Apple since we lost Steve Jobs. Apple could have gone either way in late 2011. But the company’s value has soared. One thing I really appreciate about Tim Cook is his integrity regarding his values and his maintenance of Apple’s core values. But I think the challenges of our time are just beginning.

Okay so here's my opinion, I loved Apple from the get go, I fell in love with their culture and way of business, sure, most recently it may seem like they have run out of ideas but can't that be said about other companies? Everyone seems to be taking a hard hit on Apple purely because they're not "innovating", but seem to forget that apple changed the smart phone era, and made it revolutionary.
Technological advancements today are at an all time high, there are so many things out there today that it's hardly surprising for consumers to see something magical anymore, until we hit that bazinga moment like the iPhone did in 2007, I think a lot of people will give Apple stick for doing minor improvements to their brand. Personally, I think they're doing a great job, making existent Apple products better and paving the way for the future.
That's just my opinion, I've owned countless Apple products and have not had a single issue with either them, in fact, I tend to have more issues with an android device. But, each to their own, we should all just be excited that we live in an era where everything is advancing, my next wish, better improvements and wireless charging over networks.

Apple's biggest problem is its pricing.
It could be more successful if it made its products a few hundred cheaper.
They can still be premium but just not as expensive.
The iPhone's are amazing and are still affordable. You still need a phone contract but they aren't ridiculously overpriced. I absolutely love the iPhone 7 Plus. It is an amazing piece of technology and it works like a dream.
Apple is going to have some serious competition from the Google Pixel next year. I wouldn't be too worried about Samsung as the people I know who have Samsung S8's don't like them and are already complaining about lag and ram management issues.
The iPad's are great. The new iPad Pro from Apple looks brilliant. Looks like it could compete with Laptops very easily. The Apple Pencil and Apple Keyboard make this iPad extremely useful.
The Apple Watch series 2 is my favourite apple product. It is amazing. I run and swim with it in on all the time. I have lots of different watch straps. It looks beautiful and I love having it.
The Apple Ear Pods look amazing but I haven't bought them yet as the higher price of £159 for wireless earphones is too much. I would buy them for £100 but not more. The sound quality is apparently roughly the same as the earphones which come with the iPhone. I do however think this is an awesome product. The fact it will work with my Watch, iPhone, Macbook and iPad is awesome.
The Macbook Pro I'm using now which is the 2015 Macbook Pro 13" with Retina Display is awesome. It only has 128GB memory but it's great for what I use it for. The biggest problem again for Apple is that the competition has caught up. The Dell XPS and HP Spectre look great. Even the Microsoft Surface range is looking pretty decent these days. The big price bump for using the Apple brand is now less justified especially when you compare the Dell XPS top of the range to the top of the range Macbook Pro.
You should only price your products much higher than the competition if you are miles above them. Apple has great design, great battery life, great software (MacOS and IOS), great interconnectedness, great virus protection and a good resale value. Apple, unfortunately, costs a lot more than the competition. I think the Dell XPS, HP Spectre and Windows Surface range look really good. Windows still aren't as good as Dell or HP but it's recent Windows Surface Book and Windows Surface Studio look great.
Apple needs to do one of the following:-
    1) Continue the current line of products but reduce the pricing. At least make it the same as the competition.
    2) Significantly increase the specs of all machines to make the increased pricing make sense. So this means lots more 256GB SSD's or 512GB SSD's as a minimum. A minimum of i7 chips being used. Screen specs should always be fantastic (4K). Reduced pricing on dongles as getting rid of some of the legacy ports was stupid (Magsafe, SD Card and normal USB).
People will otherwise start moving elsewhere and they will notice that the competition is much better than it used to be.

R C the point of Apple is to be overpriced. They always have been they are and they will always be

    • @user-tb9jf2jp6n
      @user-tb9jf2jp6n 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      R C
4K? I'd rather have greater battery life and a 2K display. You can get an external display if your profession revolves around a monitor.
Pricing is reasonable. Their ecosystem and build quality overpowers the price.
The specs are balanced between battery life, performance and portability. You can't compare an Spectre or an XPS that overheats or sounds like a jet. Specs matter when you can actually utilize the power, which you can't or uncomfortable with in most scenarios.
MacBooks are there in millions for a reason. The only reason to not go Apple is the price, which again, is justified by quality and longevity of said device.
The unique few who have their possessions in pristine conditions are who they are: unique few. Nothing holds forever, but Macs definitely hold the longest.

Being CEO is more than just about making and marketing products. They have to deal with stuff like when Apple had to go before congress on live television and refute alligations of them withholding profits to avoid taxes etc.
They're the ones that have to deal with answering to the Board of Directors. When profits are down, they're the ones that take the heat from the board. It's a highly policitcal position and not everyone is able to handle or even wants that kind of responsibility.

Sounds like a plot for a Stephen King novel! How insane is this? Just another case of American Psycho...

I'm totally sucked with iphones which are all same design same quality, poor and no innovation. I couldn't see any difference nowadays. I better applaude samsung who had tried to be innovative and ended to multipule explosions on their phones rather than sitting back and get damn easy money by deceiving people with nonsense cm. at least they tried hard.

Do you know how risky of a move it was to remove the headphone jack? But, in a way removing it was pushing the innovation of a cell phone even further into the future. With better water protection, better quality sound, and it's simpler.

You do realise that galaxy s7 had a higher water resistance rating the iphone 7 even with the headphone jack, right?
Go take a peek at how much money Apple has made by selling all those new dongles.
Apple knows that their customers will buy any crap they put out and they do exactly that. You don't believe me? Just look at all the new macbooks, they all have headphone jack but NO LIGHTNING. So you have got an amazing lightning headphones for your iphone and you want to use it on your brand new macbook? Too bad, you have to buy an adapter.
Kevsky, can you please tell me again how Apple is "pushing the innovation of a cell phone even further into the future" and how "courageous" Apple is for removing the evil headphone jack.
      PS
I hate Samsung equally, if not more for completely different reasons (mostly software related).

한재원 so just because Samsung note 7 exploded that means Samsung tries to be innovative and Apple doesn't? Really?
