San Francisco: Cliff House Through Time (2020 to 1863)

My last film for 2020. A look at an iconic San Francisco landmark: Cliff House. I was saddened to hear about its closure so set about researching its rich history for this film. Credit to the Image Owners Featured.

A beautiful and imaginative way of story telling. I loved the film and the way it seamlessly transitions the various looks of my favorite S.F. eatery. Such history I never knew! And I would go there almost weekly since I lived in walking distance from 1977 to 1989. Sorry to hear it closed. I knew it did not stand a chance on the last time I was there and corporate world ruined its unique vintage look and menu. That's a large part of why locals and tourists kept it busy. Great work film makers and graphics people. Loved the points of information and Presidents too.

I can't wait! It burnt down like 2 times. You should do the Sutro Baths through time also since its next door. Imagine how massive and beautiful the Cliffhouse would have been if it was still in the condition it was

I was doing some research on Cliff House for a postcard I had. I buy and sell postcards online. I came across this video. Loved it! Thank you for this. I was sad to see it has closed for good.

A wonderful lady has sent Rosie the Riveter post cards with letters to the San Francisco Chronicle, Cal-Mart, Appel & Dietrich Market and Standard 5 & 10 Ace. That way, she can get readers and customers to chip in whatever they can to save The Cliff House.

That was really a fun way to look at the history of the Cliff House. I'll be checking out more of your channel soon. After living here for 35 years I've discovered so much hidden history in San Francisco especially there at Land's End and along the coastline in both directions. Do you live in SF?
