@@SamWilder.I live in seville. I might try a comparison between the offerings in Aldi and Lidl here. I do know the kids like the nuggets in Lidl, haven’t seen them in Aldi yet tho.
@@SamWilder.I have to say, if the burgers were that close, and they seemed to be, why wouldn’t you choose the duos. It was literally 1/3 the price. (1.49 vs 4.49). The Big Mac would have to taste 300% better and you made it seem like it tasted maybe 5% or 10% better. That cost difference (and the soda one) were shocking! The savings on the fries probably not worth it, just buy a 2 lb bag of shoestring fries.
If you get a 20 box it's normally less than £1 more. When I worked there about 2 years ago a box of 20 was £4.(something), a box of 9 was £4.19, and a box of 6 was £3.89. Buy a 20 box or go home.
Fun fact a load of aldi and lidl products are made in exact same factory as the big name brands, people have found aldi hula hoops in proper hula hoop multipacks
Bakery items too. M&S chocolate twists come from the same factory as Lidl. Worked in M&S and the boxes were the same as the ones I’ve seen outside my local Lidl!!!
you should try going to heron foods and trying their 'xsell' range! they literally have THE real mcdonalds nuggets repackaged there for a lot less! i know the rest of the xsell stuff is also just repacked big brands....you could review some products :)
Yes the do. Only difference I can see is they would be rejected off the line to got to Mcdonnalds for either being stuck together or the batter slightly to dark but they are absolutly McDonnalds nuggets! Also 'xsell' do the Chicargo Town microwave pizzas and again rejected from the line for having to much or to little filling.
McDonalds have gone right down hill over the last few years, burgers more squashed and the cheeseburger doesn't taste like it used to plus they all get served to you bloody lukewarm.... The price has even overtaken Burger King!
Agreed, I used to love grabbing a Maccies as a weekend treat or something but I'd rather just get a take out from my local grill house instead now. The Big Macs are soo wilted from heat and moisture it's like they have been on the hot plate all day. I wouldn't put it pass them if they have.
McDonald's fries and flavour in the same sentence? Last time I had McDonald's fries, they were cold cardboard with some salt. The Big Mac which isn't big anymore was bland as hell. It was two years ago as an American friend wanted to go. Never again. I'd choose eating my own arm over McDonald's tbh.
I’d love to see you do a challenge like Atomic Shrimp does here on TH-cam. Buying the cheapest item in each category like veg, fruit, etc etc. Love your videos ❤
Thank you. Great comparisons. I love the taste test videos, I used to follow a guy that did these but he’s gone all “feel sorry for me viewers because I fell over drunk “🥴
@@tfairley1187he’s been milking it since the 1st video. Man gets drunk and looks like he got in a fight rather than fell over! I did unsub since the whole never drinking again is just rubbish. His views were dropping massively and he earned plenty of his waffle, feel sorry for me videos!
I hadn’t had a McDonald’s for about 10 years until about 5 years ago my mate I was working with bought me a Big Mac while on a long shift. Took one bite and realised why I hadn’t had one in so long 😂
The big stack, if you defrost it, use a pan or grill, get some fresh sliced pickles and caramelize some onions. Is actually really good. Granted I make my own all the time and have all of that in my fridge most of the time. I usually buy them to use the burgers for nacho or chip toppings, saving the buns to make my own stacked burgers. If I want a fast premade burger, I usually grab a rustlers or something similar, don't need to defrost it, throw some crispy onion on it. Toast the buns with a bit of butter. Soak the burger in beef broth while doing that, then pat dry and fry for a crust. Any excess buns go in the freezer. Usually use 1 bun to 3 burgers with the sauce and cheese, extra crispy onions, some of the Aldi topped chips thrown in the air fryer.
I’ve found with fizzy drinks if you add ice it makes it flat, so it makes sense the diet cola from the bottle being fizzier cause there’s no ice to begin with
Never voluntarily eaten in a McDonalds so wouldn't have a clue anyway. So if i ever have a craving for junk food at least i know where to go for some cheap junk.
A few of the things you've tested are fried in oil at McDonald's (like the hash browns), so I'm wondering if you'd like to have a true comparison, you'd need to fry things in oil.
Loved this one Sam, I've npt tried anything from lidl except their beans and have never been into Aldi, i will have to pay them a visit! (also nice to see your partner getting involved 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼)
Local greengrocer (veg for the whole week for £7!) and butcher, I bake my own bread. For store cupboard items, alcohol and ice-cream I tend to use any of the usual suspects (Morrisons, Tesco or Waitrose) I tried a soup from Lidl/Aldi before also, it was really good, better than Heinz! I also tried a frozen pepperoni pizza from Iceland recently, it was called 'ItalPizza', better than many pizza places!
you should make a video of fast food vs your own cooking. Also you come up with some creative meals using budget items. like to see what you could do with £5 for a meal
As someone who ate alot of McDonald's in my mid to late 20's and loved it, I now really don't like them- in fact the only " fast food" I like is Fish and Chips at the seaside.
I appreciate the video because i order mcd a lot, and the difference in price of the faux big mac would make it preferable for me. I do think that deciding the overall winner was still mcdonalds after blind taste preferring shop brand fries and cola is a tiiiiiny bit toys out of the pram-ish, but hey it's your money and channel!
Good video, but your eating habits grind my gears. I’ve met very few people that stick their tongue out before they eat anything, but when I have it annoys me 😂 sorry
the only thing mcdonalds had going for it was that it was cheap. Now that it isnt cheap its never worth going there.
THIS. It's almost the same price as Burger King so if I had the choice I pick Burger King instead.
it wasn't ever cheap lmao
Plus the entire boycot
Personally, I think it still is cheap
@@gbrodie49Burger King is horrible lol.
Love the dog coming to see what’s for dinner 😂 such a cutie!
no he was looking for any left overs from all those cheap meals OMG the calorie intake blimey!!!!!
How the fuck do they get away with charging £4.69 for a few nuggets!
always some deal on
Even more as a meal

Excellent video sam ! enjoyed the content
My god…..a Big Mac is nearly a fiver? I remember when that was a cheap burger on the menu! Crazy prices!

Did you deep fry the nuggets?

I wish curry dipping sauce was a thing in Canada. Also that I could find frozen chicken nuggets that are battered instead of breaded.
Would be good to know how you cooked each one? Air fryer, oven etc. sorry if you said and I missed it.

Haven’t had chicken nuggets for years. Oh fancy chicken nugget or 2 now 😂😂
I always feel sorry for your doggo in your videos, wee face always makes an appearance somewhere or other whilst you are eating:)
She would love it if she got a burger! More often than not she has literally just eaten before I film haha
I feel like the deep fryer won this competition more-so than McDonalds.
Why do you remind me of Tim vine???
McDonald’s is gone way to expensive for what it is ..
Has completely turned me off it but nice to see places trying to give cheaper alternatives ..
I didn’t realize lidl and aLdi were hidden gems!
mcdonalds never put enough salt on their fries which are often cold even when eating in

Hi how are you doing
Deep fry your nuggets for 2 mins to get them a nice crisp.
Iceland nuggets are great
But was they all cooked at the same time the chicken select 🤔
Cooked at the same time I ordered!
“You can’t go wrong with a Big Mac”
Really? You definitely can. They’re absolutely foul. They’re the worst thing McDonalds do by a significant margin.
Nobody betters the milkshake !
Milkshake is absolutely elite
Sadly it looks like you left the lettuce in the big mac even though you said you'd take it out...
@@tueton. almost all was removed but I think a stray piece or two got stuck on the side of the bun. 😅 didn’t affect my bite though :)
Aldi coke at a quarter of the price of coke and blind tasting is identical is a sure winner.
The McDonald's coke was probably from a pump/gun hence why it was flatter.
