I agree with randombartard, getting to that size/weight at his height is next to impossible. I'm confident that even the person asking the question knew what his answer would be. Drug use in China is extremely prohibited garnering heavy jail time and in some cases, death. Bet your ass that the gov't there knows and maybe even promotes steroids to there top (world recognized sports) athletes that represent the country but with strongman not being recognized as one of said sports than it would be very unwise for this gentleman to admit to steroid use. Awesome guy though, props to him and his mindset/outlook on life and competition, cheers
xxnike629xx - ROTFL...😂😂🤣🤣. This guy deffinitely was or is using performance enhancing drugs. 9:28 - watch closely and you can see the lie on his face. One commonality I've always appreciated across the globe, humans all lie the same.
He wouldn't be the strongest man in the world if he didn't use steroids. I don't even mind him lying about it, because this is what he has to do in order to not gain negative publicity and even lose sponsorships. But the reality is that if you don't use steroids, you cannot even come close to being the strongest in your region, let alone a country. Why? Because some people are using them. You don't become the strongest person in the world by not using steroids, the same way you won't win a Nascar race using a cheap family car, no matter how good of a driver you are.
He's cute actually, cello and weightlifting are two different things but he made it himself by not using any steroids, still have a taste of musical things, having beautiful wife,it showed how much great he is as a person, thank you Asianboss for bringing the story, again as always, u guys are rocks!!! 👍👍👍👏👏♥️😎
Suicide grip allows one to keep stable strong wrists at heavier weights, you're right its pretty dangerous, but I've literally felt my wrists bend with a normal grip when benching 300lbs+ incline and flat
Use the Bulldog grip instead. It has the both the benefits of being safe like a traditional grip as well as the stable strong benefit of the suicide grip.

I met Zydrunas and the rest of the athletes when i was 7 years old cus they did the WSM 2002 in my country. Started competing at 16yo where i hoisted 240kg SQ, 165kg BP and 265kg DL in my first PL meet and now i'm at 325kg SQ , done 220kg BP (before injury) , deadlifted 350kg , 155kg strict log press, 95kg circus DB for a double, 190kg atlas stone etc at 23yo now (nothing crazy compared to the westerners and europeans) but then again both of the strength sports are fairly new (
Great content Asian Boss! Much respect to this man! Thoughts: 1) When I saw his 5% Rich Piana tattoo, I kinda rolled my eyes . . . "Oh man, a Chinese 5%-er!" But he sounds like a really good dude! 2) I love that his wife is his biggest cheerleader! As she said, she's more emotional about it sometimes than he is! She's right there with him with every rep! That's a Blessing! 3) TH-camr Larry Wheels is in the middle of his series of training videos with Thor (from Game of Thrones and is the current World's Strongest Man) and I am totally glued to his training . . . so it's awesome watching this guy training with the same passion over in China. I've been powerlifting for 15 years and have been following the strongman community for almost as long. I don't want to take anything away from this amazing man but I can tell you with 100% certainty this guy's on steroids. Just look at how he immediately breaks eye contact and is awkward when faced with the question. Again, this is of course very obvious to anyone who has been serious about strength training at some point in their life but I think it's important to be transparent about drug use in any sport (even though every strongman is on gear).
I hope this goes viral in China. The society is so prime to take the next step in the health, wellness and exercise field. Modernize is all aspects, but this in particular, mixes well with Chinese culture. Hopefully this bleeds into every day life too
They compete in different fields. You can't compare them. It would be like comparing a mountain biker to a BMX rider. Lv Xiaojun is stronger in terms of the weight he can lift compared to his bodyweight, but Yang Yue probably holds more powerlifting records and can lift more total weight. Not sure, haven't researched it myself, but I imagine that's the case.
@Conscience Observer Yo, if you think strong = height then you probably are dumb. Besides he could kill you with one punch which proves him being strong.
@Conscience Observer Hey I think China and most of Europe have almost the same potential for height development, China has always been the tallest nation in Asia since ancient times you can see from the terracotta warriors on average they are like 175cm which is even quite a lot taller than Romans, and During Ming and Qing dynasties the German anthropologists who visited China also recorded that the Chinese looked vastly different from each other based on different regions but on average they were just as tall as Germans, and some northern provinces were even taller. You need to check out the wikipedia page on " human average height worldwide" by the way, despite decades of poverty, now many povinces in China are catching up very fast with Europe, some northeastern provinces up there are even taller than Britain and France. Most early Chinese settlers in US were from Hongkong region they are usually considered the smallest type of Chinese if you go to other places you probably get to see bigger types of Chinese.

The fact that he achieved this title by himself, without proper coaching and equipment and without taking steroids is very impressive. There ain't only strong and wise martial artists using chi in China. They also have Hulks !!
There's genius... and then there's Asian.
Without roids....... LOL
@@Dima1415
He said he doesnt use steroids at 9:30
So many experts on roids ... wow
@sunnyjjng
No but I also wont assume skeptics are always right too, so Ill say 50/50 chance he uses roids to be fair.
Man, this dude seems pretty awesome. He's really humble and has a wonderful mindset of not being afraid of failure. I think we could all learn from him. I'd love to meet and hangout with him sometime. Too bad I live on the other side of the country.
His tattoo is 鐵(iron).
Wouldn't that be like a white guy getting a tattoo saying "iron" in comic sans?
On his neck
@SATI REV tbh get a good font and thats dope!
@@DaGoldC also, iron has more significant meaning in chinese mythical and superstitious culture. Even if he himself doesn't fully believe in it, it's still very motivating.
Awesome as always !
I never skip ads on an Asian Boss video ;) Love you guys and wanna support in any way I can 💕
humble beginnings and tunnel-vision focus... true warrior! very inspiring
A respectable athlete and he plays cello? Dang.
Also props for no illegal steroid use in an industry where even a lot of pros use it.
Working out naturally with no illegal substances is the way to go if you're sincerely into it and mentally prepared to go all the way.
xxnike629xx That's the most hilarious and naive thing I've ever heard
@@winstonwei9694 lol First off, the US does medal. Second, it's ironic you're implying you know about steroids and weightlifting when US weightlifters have been popped multiple times and still struggles.
Taking 2 days to download a short video is the textbook definition of perseverance.
This was a fun and interesting episode.
He's cute actually, cello and weightlifting are two different things but he made it himself by not using any steroids, still have a taste of musical things, having beautiful wife,it showed how much great he is as a person, thank you Asianboss for bringing the story, again as always, u guys are rocks!!! 👍👍👍👏👏♥️😎
I LOVE THIS INTERVIEWER JACKET
Awesome guy, completely disregards what people think and pursues his dream.
My god, he shouldn't use a suicide grip while benching those weights. That's dangerous!
What a cool dude, very inspiring
I was thinking the same thing! But then I thought about it, I can't put anything past 365 up - this man could press two of me. Yolo grip if ya want!
i dont know but ive seen lots of big guys use the suicide grip. i think its different for them, but i dont know.
its not different for them, in fact its even more dangerous @@stufoo
Suicide grip allows one to keep stable strong wrists at heavier weights, you're right its pretty dangerous, but I've literally felt my wrists bend with a normal grip when benching 300lbs+ incline and flat
Use the Bulldog grip instead. It has the both the benefits of being safe like a traditional grip as well as the stable strong benefit of the suicide grip.
Love this guy. So modest and self confident
Title: “Meet the strongest man in China”
*_Bruce Lee is typing_*
Bruce Lee is American :)
Evariste Galois , One of my friends who is a bit disfigure in his leg also naturally built strong.. It seems like the strength of his leg which is a bit disfigure is accumulated all in his hand muscles...He's so persistent that he even learnt and perfecting any martial arts movement despite having leg problem...I use to practice with him and once he hold tight of me, there is no way to escape...Too strong that trying to freed from his clutch is like pushing a big strong wall. But like this guy, he's gentle and very friendly in inside and i never seen his anger till this day....One has to avoid body contact to fight him...
Bruce Lee was American, anyways, he was quick and strong at combat, but he wouldn’t be able to lift a fraction of what this dude lifts.
Bruce Lee was Chinese product who did best in America...If he remain in Hong Kong, he'd have either died in gang war or became a ganglord wanted by Chinese Authority 😁😂😁
From heaven?
Thanks for the nice content!
He played the cello. Seriously? Oh he is Asian. Almost forget.
Is he starcraft pro player?
Yeah, Asians sure like appropriating European classical music.
Do u play planetside
😂 totally not a stereotype. I’m chinese and I don’t play any instruments
@@tafkapi9840 Why do Euros appropriate Chinese paper and gunpowder then? xD
Truly inspiring, from his humble beginning and where he is at now. Not trying to gain any attention but i started strongman since i was 14 and am from Malaysia (more towards powerlifting since strongman wasn't recognised nor known of here). I met Zydrunas and the rest of the athletes when i was 7 years old cus they did the WSM 2002 in my country. Started competing at 16yo where i hoisted 240kg SQ, 165kg BP and 265kg DL in my first PL meet and now i'm at 325kg SQ , done 220kg BP (before injury) , deadlifted 350kg , 155kg strict log press, 95kg circus DB for a double, 190kg atlas stone etc at 23yo now (nothing crazy compared to the westerners and europeans) but then again both of the strength sports are fairly new (
Asian Strong!
I like this guy..he has a realistic view of success and failure.
It's awesome.
He probably didn't get that tattoo because of Piana. 5% thing has been around longer than piana.
stimpson j cat at about 5:30 he actually has Rich Piana above the 5.
Best channel ever. I love this video.
I applaud him for never giving up and showing younger athletes that you don't need to take steroids to build you up but hard work and determination his the answer 🌍🇺🇸🇬🇧🇧🇷🇯🇲🇦🇺
LOL. You don't reach a 500lb bench press without steroids. China is one of the biggest producers of steroids too. Dream on.
Donna Kirton Are those flags supposed to represent the whole world? Just curious
Nice work! Boss!
Amazing, he has all the things I love. The cello, pitbulls, tattoos and a Harley Davidson. He is just the perfect man but he is young enough to be my son! Lol.
lol
😍 And he can cook too!
@@hellokitty11432 ok, officially a dream man! I didn't get to the cooking part. But the cello is a win for me! So sexy he has a soft side with all the bad boy sides!
I can imagine him being the final boss in a video game and before he fights you he plays the cello and after he defeats you he returns to playing the cello.
Cello that is amazing...
AMAZING.. when he said during his times internet speed compared to now.. i feel him.. but that passion.. respect!!!
*Strong!*
i love this video. good job asian boss
His wife is really beautiful.
Standard east asian beauty.
her?
Sorry, mistake.
She looks like ordinary Chinese
@Yongjie Jiang All Asians look alike.
He didn't try to lift more weight. He was tired, knew he couldn't do it and he said it. I hate strong men who thinks they are gods or something. This guy seems humble.
Just fyi, that 5% is a symbol created by Rich Piana, a legendary social media bodybuilder. RIP
His story is very inspiring! And he looks so kind and sweet

Such a new perspective on how different people from different countries train.

whatver it takes GODDAMNIT
he also has 1903
Love and Peace, much more than a respect to the beast. Really admired watching him doing his level best naturally. Love from your neighbourhood country, Pakistan. ❤💚
He don't need it.
bernieboy I agree with u. He sure is hiding something
@Website guy Its mostly about how he looks, you cant get shoulders that big without roids, our body just isnt capable of that.
@Website guy Man if you're not completely full of bs I'd Love to see a natural 55 year old incline bench 385... Please do post a video..
@Website guy i believe you, Trolls are strong creatures!
I hope this goes viral in China. The society is so prime to take the next step in the health, wellness and exercise field. Modernize is all aspects, but this in particular, mixes well with Chinese culture. Hopefully this bleeds into every day life too
Amazing. He probably has to buy clothes from the US to fit those guns 🤣
LMAO

Really interesting window into his world
i couldn't help laughing when I saw that guy's shape of body in the video, than I was really shocked when seeing him playing cello.
loved this video. there is so many interesting characters in China . please do more . love from Beijing
Pretty sure Lü Xiaojun is the strongest man in China
They compete in different fields. You can't compare them. It would be like comparing a mountain biker to a BMX rider. Lv Xiaojun is stronger in terms of the weight he can lift compared to his bodyweight, but Yang Yue probably holds more powerlifting records and can lift more total weight. Not sure, haven't researched it myself, but I imagine that's the case.
@@DrDemosth Agree. Lü is extremely strong for his sport. His body is accurately tuned for Olympic weight lifting only.
Nope, tian tao is stronger in every way. He is however in a higher weight class tho.
This guy is a beast mentally and physically you can tell he is really disciplined
He is stronk.
@Conscience Observer the average height for a man in America is only 5'9". Try doing a quick google search before saying inaccurate things.
@Conscience Observer Yo, if you think strong = height then you probably are dumb. Besides he could kill you with one punch which proves him being strong.
@Conscience Observer I'm slim, 5.10 tall Chinese, Are you taller than me? What is your height?
biggest boi in china
From California with love. Respect. Get those gains!
