Is it just me, but since he got married or engaged or whatever, the videos have lost that excitement. No more Collaborations...........not dull but I know I don't watch them like I use to. That being said, any suggestions for a better channel to get my starchy Asian fix?

I haven't fly with Cathay Pacific in yonks.
Why does he adjust his camera so much? Shouldn't you adjust the camera BEFORE filming and not constantly adjusting/tapping the camera while filming, he does this in EVERY video.
These business class food reviews are so interesting. Most of us will never experience these higher end dishes when flying. Mostly wrapped sandwiches, potato chips and stale pretzels in economy class if we're lucky.

I've always found it interesting that's how Western airlines do things. Even in Economy most legacy Asian carriers tend to serve hot meals of decent to good quality, and some of them even use metal utensils.
@debrosenbloom. Then why are you still watching Mikey? So you can wallow in your sour grapes? Mikey is a success and gets to reap the benefits of his success by flying business class. Why don’t you go start a TH-cam channel and then maybe if you succeed you can fly business class as well.

For those who enjoy McDonalds fries... when I was a kid (I'm 53 now) McDonalds use to fry everything in beef tallow... aka beef fat. They were so much better than today's fries.

Great video. Pier Lounge is not new. I have loved it on several visits since 2016. Maybe recently reopened. But the way you describe it is perfect: “elegant” with amazing food and apron views!
I almost made the mistake of watching this late at night on an empty stomach.
these videos should only be watched right after eating so that you don't feel as tortured while looking at the food he's eating.
You being in Hong Kong was interesting, with the zero Covid rule, It was interesting to see what it was like there. I wonder if the buffet would of been open in more “normal “ times.

I enjoy watching your food experiences across the world. Really though, most of us TH-camrs can't afford traveling and eating across the world. Personally miss you being home and eating locally as cheap as you can.
Totally agreed. We cant afford to fly as Mikey has now been and his recent videos feel more like a guilty pleasure vs relating with him as our hero!

@@tofuteh2348 Well yes, but when he was a traveling guy he still showed amazing, cheap street food in every country. And he used to be more adventurous (Uzbekistan, Romania, Peru). AND he used to do all the McDonalds and all the convenience stores. Overall, he doesn't really do cheap-delicious food anymore.

As a New Englander, Salem in October is the worst time to go, especially later in the month. Allow yourself lots of extra time to get to & from everywhere, and expect to wait for everything. I hope you have a lovely trip!

Still hard to believe that Anthony Bourdain is gone. I've been recording his shows, "No Reservations", and others for years. Starting with VHS tapes then to cd's. I'm glad now that I recorded so many hours of his past episodes that I can fondly go back to view. Good food reviews Mike.

One way to beat jet lag, I learned from my English teacher, because when I was in High school my English teacher always took a group of students to England, he said when you first arrive don't go to sleep until your regular sleep time so if you go to sleep at 10 PM stay awake until then, then go to bed.

Never heard of Bavette, but it looked familiar, so I googled it!
We call it Flank steak here in the US. Really tasty, but tough if not cooked and served correctly. I pan fry it in flour and butter and season with salt and pepper. Best eaten rare, IMO!

I have not flown Cathay Pacific for 15 years - I think I need to try them again very soon. Looks like a huge improvement.

I feel the exact same about Anthony Bourdain. I’ve watched everything he’s ever made. However, I haven’t been able to watch Roadrunner. It may be unusual, but it still feels like I lost an amazing friend still.

Most people probably don’t know this, you can access the lounge without flying Business. There’s a thing call “Dragon Pass” that you can either buy or vouch for free. I can vouch two per year with my credit card. Though the lounges are nice, food great, I hate overstuffing myself pre-flight to find myself feeding again once onboard.

Its good to see the Pier Business class lounge hasn't changed from when I used it back in 2019 I've used all the Cathay Pacific First and Business Class lounges in HKG and I actually prefer the Noodle and Tea bar in the Pier Business Class lounge, I guess because I"m an AYKE buffet person rather than a sit down and order person. If I weren't a buffet kind of person, the First Class lounges are a step above.

Cathay Pacific is always been best in services even for the non business class seats. And these unlimited noodle treat is super awesome.
singapore, emirates and qatar are much better.

Do you get to use the Lounge after you get to your flights destination (assuming they have a lounge) or only before?
You only get access for departing or connecting flights
You can find cheaper hotels in London. Mine had a shower in a closet, the door was 50 cm wide and the whole shower was 50 cmx 50 cm and there was toilet and sink in there too but it was better then my friend who ended up with bathroom with a room Hight of 160 cm.
