Flying from Seoul South Korea back to St. Louis with Etihad Airways business class. The total trip was over 30 hours, here is my review of the food and flight experience.

Mike, you don't need compliments from me but to see you grow from a kid out of college who left a Wall St job to start filming cooking in his small NYC kitchen to traveling the world to having your own show to owning your own restaurant, you have come really really far. Just to let you guys know, that one meal named foul medemes is pronounced as “fool med-em-es”. Foul is fava beans, and it’s a traditional Arab street dish that tastes amazing!
He also should've known that as he ate it during his trip to Egypt. He may have just forgotten in the moment.
A few minutes on Google before you say something goes a long way. I wish other food vloggers would spend a few minutes on Google too...

Somehow though he knew how to pronounce Zataar, I love it I have grown it in my garden in California. By the way Fuul or however you want to spell it is commonly served in the Middle East with eggs fried with sheep brains. This is not a joke. And it isn't awful or gross either.

As you should! Yeah it's better to fly direct, but there's nothing wrong with treating yourself! A flight should be all about relaxation and calming the mind before and after a trip, if you have the time and money to splurge on a flight, do it! It's not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself, and to make your happiness a priority. It’s necessary. Also, love how Häagen-Dazs is an option, always get the ice cream bars from my local Walgreen's and never viewed it as luxurious but here we are lol

I rarely watch video on TH-cam from the beginning all the way to the end. Just because I love traveling, watching planes take off and landing at the airports. And of course the foods at the airport lounges and on the flight! Love this one!

Yes I definitely agree Qatar airline is unbeatable ....Etihad seemed OK but 14hrs they definitely needed one or 2 hot snack options in between. Thanks for the video

Loved the Vlog Mikey :) 0:25 The noodles are phyllo dough, its often used to make Kunafeh. Interesting mix of PB cream & Phyllo dough. must try it
@@jttang3148 It was funny that he wondered if it was green mashed potatoes when it was served. But he corrected himself later and admitted he liked it but didn’t know how good green mushy peas is made. To be fair, mushy peas or pea purée isn’t really all that well-known especially in places where peas or puréed food aren’t widely eaten. 😊

My dad invented the gogigyeopbbang/double bread with meat (or a burger in the West) for the airline, and it is now one of the most recognizable food items in the world. Etihad business class flight and lounge experience was awesome in Abu Dhabi, even at the height of early pandemic. I stopped in Abu Dhabi as well for a great lounge experience for around 5 hours. Food was individually wrapped and selection was limited, but still very nice. When I return to Bangkok I will use the same route on Etihad…so comfortable and pleasant! Great value as well!

You have to try the Etihad First Class when there are Companion Deals. You will love the suite, the lounge(like the Emirates First Class Lounge) and the food of course.

You should go to the Mount Nelson Afternoon Tea in Cape Town! That's fabulous 👌 We fly to Cape Town every year or two to visit family and that's always a wonderful treat 😀 South African Milk Tart, warm scones, homemade marshmallows and lots more.

Those mid-flight snacks were not a quality business class product. I'd almost bet that basket of candy was an assortment of economy class handouts. You're right - Qatar Airways is 1000 times better. Thanks for your informative review.
Qatar definitely has the best business class product, by far. Maybe the new ANA “room" business class, but those are pretty rare to find

Qatar Qsuites and ANA the room are both awesome and IMHO are better than Etihad for sure. Their cabin crews are so much nicer on both of them as well and the food too! I had the privilege of flying them both and I flew Etihad's FC and Buis and personally Etihad is a hard pass for me now...

It is amazing what airplanes are like now. Everything is so catered to each person. So private. I'm thinking airplanes like, you get a seat and maybe a pillow and lean back in your seat and maybe a snack or two. You, it's like being in a motel room. Maybe you can show us what the restrooms look like next time. Are they still a little cubby or are they improved like your personal space? And are there a lot? Also, it sounded so quiet. Food look good, service looked good. I think I could sleep on that kind of flight! I enjoyed seeing this.
Usually business class is considerably more expensive than economy so that's why everything is so nice and looks so good. People in the back probably got a plate of food where you can't tell what it even is lol.
This is the case only for business or first class. Back in economy there’s no privacy (the configuration is anywhere from 2-4-2 to 3-5-3 depending on the plane), the restrooms are still tiny and tight, and the food is seldom as good or generous in portions except with the more premium airlines like Singapore, Emirates, Qatar, ANA, JAL, etc.

Mike if u ever get to come back to seoul, you gotta visit "Crab 52" a new seafood buffet opened days ago in seoul. Its run by a company that also runs vikings wharf which you've already been to. Every seafood, including lobster is alive, fresh truffles and caviars are unlimited as well. Its woofin 200$ but ppl say its worth it.
