I fully believe you couldn't have been in the midst of a better community of folks than those found at GABC. I have only really been in this world for about a year and a half, been to Blade twice, and the Gathering this past fall. Just can't get over how welcoming, friendly, and helpful everyone is. No egos, no "know it all" attitudes, just good people who want to help, and teach others. Looking forward to the Spring Campout next month!
The way everyone pitched in to help is very rare these days. It's like a very close family helping each other out. What a great community feel proud to be a part of it that shit is hard to come by.
I solved my overheating Suzuki (similar symptoms - not visible leaks) by replacing the radiator cap….. that’s it. Just the cap. Maybe worth a try.
I once had a whole bunch of work done for a boiling system, including replacing water pump, but the actual problem ended up being the spring in the cap failing.... $15 part...
Taylor, I certainly don’t know you but you have to be an awesome person because the folks around you and the strangers that you encounter on your journeys, without hesitation, jump in to help. People can sense someone that is genuine with a youthful spirit and I believe that you’re that guy. You are truly blessed to roll in a community of such awesome people. I hope to visit Georgia Bushcraft after I retire and meet these incredible folks. Safe travels Brother!

best part of being in the gear, survival, bushcraft, etc community is youre typically prepared for an issue and helps available if something slips through the cracks

I'd really love to see you guys continue the mini truck series! I was glued to this while waiting for my mini truck to arrive. Now that I've got it and have run through just about everything on it myself, I've begun to outfit mine with the things I actually want to use in it and I'd like to see guys get back out with your's again!
Despite the hiccups, good to see you’re back and intact. 👍 Mini Mog is pretty cool. But it looks like too much weight. I’ll probably do a build similar to the PNW camper guys (Mike Festiva & Olympic Overland).

I agree! They're all so kind and helpful. During the event, there were at least 7-8 different people working on the truck, not including me. Also, hated not getting to see you and catch up, brother!
I was just thinkin you should just use the rack as a frame & enclose the back with a waxed canvas tarp or somethin.. Maybe even take it up a notch & do some sort of carbon fiber or plastic. If you do that install one of those fans that can blow air in & out for circulation. Once you do that just throw an actual mattress or just an air mattress in the bed. I wish I had somethin this size I could take 4 wheeling here in utah when I go elk hunting. Itd be ideal. Lol you got me all excited now.

You should check out the Japanese channel TABI-IE, he has a mini truck like this and built a removalable camper on it.

1st failures are what memories are made from 2nd if you manage to make it next year with zero failures you should park like a mile down the road and hike in just to ask for a lift back to the truck. Keep them guessing.

As Far As Thermostats If the engine is compatible with Toyota make sure to use the Aisin Brand is OEM for Toyota Motors most knock off brands usually don’t let as long as the OEM in my experience I have a Daily Driver 2000 Toyota Camry

It honestly only took a few minutes to not feel weird. Same goes for shifting left-handed. Might be because it's such a small vehicle, but it's really not that bad.

This is the reason why I have a Suzuki mini. I have it for 5yrs now and it never let me down. Like from my house to my farm is 75km away. I usually do a round trip almost every weekends. The biggest problem it gives me is when I blown my rare tire and fan belt annoying sounds. The cab of a Suzuki is bit tinier than yours but I solved it by cutting the cab and added extra 5incs extension.
Your reason for having a Suzuki is because I definitely overloaded mine and tried to take it on a 500 mile round trip? That makes total sense.

This is why despite the room, I'm hesitant to go with the Sambar vs the Carry or Hijet. Subaru is just not as reliable as Suzuki or Toyota (Daihatsu). Might have to go with a Hijet Jumbo though, as I'm 6'5". I'm also looking to get one to use as a UTV though, so I won't be on the road or taking long trips at all, just plowing snow and getting firewood/chores around the house, so being cramped inside might not be as big of a deal as I won't be in it for long periods of time. Hopefully, you'll get er fixed up and running well enough to do a road trip without any issues in the future.
I think it has a lot to do with how much weight I had in it and how hard I was driving it for 5 hours with few breaks.
