Thanks for watching. They said it only needed a new purge bulb but something tells me it needs a lot more than that.

Regarding the question you asked at the end of the video, yes my dad usually keeps fuel in his machines all winter long. We don't typically have cold winters here, mild at most. My dad will occasionally run some of his machines during the winter to keep the fuel from sitting too long. Sometimes, my dad will use a fuel stabilizer in his zero turn lawn mower if he plans to not run it for a long period of time.

I run everything dry before long term storage. Sometimes I’ll use aviation fuel for the last use during fall leaf cleanup, that stuff has a shelf life of years and can be left in over winter.

@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE should be able to get it at any small local airport. I usually buy 2 1/2 gallons for mixing two stroke fuel and for storage when necessary. It’s especially great in two stroke gear, no more rotted hoses or diaphragms, warped fuel tank lids or poor running equipment. Been using it for years and all of my old Kioritz two stroke stuff is still like new. Never changed a single fuel line or carb diaphragm in over 20 years of use. I still store them dry, though.

Fuel is definitely a problem, I got away from 5 gal cans I now use 2.5 gal can that’s enough for a 1 week lawn cut and using power washer around patio and driveway. I also use high octane gasoline the ethanol has a lousy effect on small engines. Since most gas stations have only one hose you need to pump the first 5 seconds into your car gas tank then fill up your gas can or you’re going to get what ever is in that 10’ of hose into your gas can and 9 out of ten times it’s goin to be ethanol.

I had one of these things that I got for free.
It ran great and looked almost new but it would smoke like crazy if you held the throttle down for 10 seconds or so but would clear out if you didn’t hold it down for extended periods, ended up being that the crankcase vent nipple on the airbox had no hole through it, bad casting with plastic still inside.
Drilled it out and it was fixed!

Hey bro what's up? I normaly store my equipment with fuel in it because I'm from the Caribbean and we don't have winter in the Caribbean. I usually choose to do it this way since I typically cut my lawn on a fairly regular basis especially during the rainy season since the grass grows a lot during this time.

glad you asked, they are meant to be less work since you don't have to mix our oil and gasoline. But they forget to mention the you need to do oil changes. However, they're hoping you never change the oil so that the engine will eventually stop running.

I’m working on a lawn mower that belongs to my mother that’s not running properly. When I checked the oil, at first I thought it was good just by what it looked like at first glance however, something seemed a little off about it. On closer inspection it appeared to be a milky tan color and smelled as if it got gas in it. So being a novice to this kind of stuff I looked up what gas in oil looks like and I did find an image that looked almost exactly like it. So of course I drained it out, but before putting in fresh oil, is there a certain process that I should go thru to completely flush the tank and clean it out? Thank you.
