You are going to wonder what you did before this machine. I know,,,,,,spent most of your time waiting painfully for the hydraulic splitter. A word to the wise there is a small bearing that rides on the top of the I-beam. The 1/4-20 bolt has a small hole in the head. This is to squirt your favorite lube into to keep it rolling. There are 4 large cam followers on the bottom of the splitting head. They ride under the top of the I-beam. They is no way to get lubrication to these except dismantling and applying grease. I have some videos on youtube showing my solution if you are interested. It took about 3 years for mine to seize. Also the six bolts holding the head to the rails will come loose, keep an eye on those. Enjoy that beauty!!

I’m ordering the J model and there is an 8 week back order.
    Cannot wait to get mine.
A buddy has the Split Second and I have operated it quite often.
I’ve looked at just about every kinetic splitter on the market including the DR, Speeco and Oregon and I’m going with the best!
Btw, Oregon has ceased production of their splitter.

So, I'm not seeing how it could split the 30" Doug Fir rounds that I'm currently working with.

Its funny, I split my wood the very same way...I like to flip the split piece off my splitter...

What kind of conveyor is that?

You shouldn't have to hold the lever up for it to work, you pull it up and let it go

Why did you get he “J” model vs the “HD”? What type of wood did you split? Any pro’s or con’s you want to share? Thanks

When buying it called the owner said that the majority of his people get the J model. He said he would’ve recommended the HD if I was going to do 2 foot splits for example For an outdoor boiler or something. People that come back to buy another one that had the J model usually by the J model again.

@@rottiejakeluke Yeah no problem let me know if you have any other questions I’m approaching 100 hours on it so I can moved some wood through it. In that video it was the first tank and it was breaking in the return on it got much faster after the first few cord. A friend of mine just ordered the HD model I’d like to try it to see if I can tell a difference with some of the tougher splits but 90% of the time it’s one maybe two hits and you’re through the piece

How does it handle knotty spruce or a hardwood such as green elm, sycamore or locust?
