Love it to see you and James together again. Do the FL Trail. Jan thru Mar some van group does it. Lots of slack packing. They carry loads of amenities for the trip. Van couple meet up with you at the campsites the group will use. Only 3 wks you have to full pack it, as van had no access.

We're less than an hour from St Augustine. One place you shoulda hit was Ginnie Springs. I told you once before but you may not have seen it. I know your glad to be home.

I lived on cumberland island national seashore before I came here 10 years ago.
Florida (excluding sever wind weather), looked like it fit your way of living; water, boating, some animal viewing, etc. Time for another adventure chapter. Happy 🦃 Day.
Nice, I never had any desire to visit Florida because of the humidity and bugs but after watching you and all the cool places you went to, it is now on my list of places to go. After watching you deal with that hurricane I was sure I never wanted to go there. Then you did all those cool kayak paddles in those beautiful locations and I was back to wanting to see them for myself. I hope your next contract puts you somewhere awesome and you share it with us. Where in Virginia did you stay. I am from the Richmond area. My family has been there since 1611.
Next time stop and buy the toll pass. Much cheaper in the end and much more convenient.

I have a sister living right on a tidal marsh in St. Augustine. The last hurricane, though only a Cat. one, prompted them to think about retiring and moving to the mountains of Virginia, not far from Damascus. I love both places! What a great adventure you had, and many more, I'm sure! Take care and God bless!🙏
Everyone in America it seems started coming to the mountains of western NC during covid and now with hurricanes it’s worse. It’s crazy busy and no fun in the smokies anymore. It’s the new beachfront/Orlando wollyworld/vegas gambling/lets tear down a mountains and pave a parking lot , hot spot.

What a cool way to get a taste of “boat” life…or at least dock life/marina life😊. You should have took that boat out! Lol. That would have been an adventure. I wonder if they even let you take that boat out? Probably not. Also, wondering what the specs are on it(size). Seems like it’s the perfect size. Anyway, seemed like fun!😊
So glad you got to see St. Augustine. When you drove up the beach from St. Augustine you came within 6 miles from me. So you got to see some of the best parts of Florida but you still have the panhandle to discover some of the best beaches in the world. Can't wait for you guys to come back and explore. That was nice you took us for a little tour of the fort since I was stupid and never bought a pass to go inside, yet before that I was in Great Smoky Mountain NP, soon after I was in Big Bend, Tonto National Monument, Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, Grand Canyon, Zion NP, Bryce Canyon ... after the fact as I didn't know how many parks I would end up in on that very random trip I thought why had I not bought a yearly pass, did I say stupid ? LOL.There are some fantastic looking old buildings in the St Augustine area, love architecture like that. Anyway aside from my screwup, I was curious if you did ever have a chance to taste some Alligator as it never even occurred to me as I didn't know that was a thing nor in a restaurant that had it on a menu to clue me in.
if you like pirates and history, go to Okracoke, off the coast of North Carolina! It's one of my facourite places on earth.

As a veteran van life and trail life gal, the boat life would suit you fine. I had opportunity to cruise up the ICW from St. Augustine to Charlestown SC back in 1999. It is a different sort of camping, and it is quite serene to glide by while manatee and porpoises swim. Have a great time at home.
And good riddance to ya too! LOL But really three months and one hurricane and one tropical storm. Please warn us before you return! So we can be elsewhere! Good luck on your next adventure!
