Great review, I purchased this bike a couple years ago (2016 S model) and I can't think of anything that it doesn't do well "street rider" my favorite feature are the brakes they are out right amazing (S model) and the motor is just outrageous and smooth. I guess if It has a shortcoming in town traffic, she gets hot and she's tall so if you're under 5' 10" maybe not so great
@@samboles3670 they are fantastic bikes Ducati, the improvements made over the older models was massive. And the year by year refinements have been great! That motor is glorious!
I know this is a older review but if you or anybody else could chime in with experience I'd appreciate it. Been looking at this year and model. I have a buddy with two multistradas, both pikes peak and he is a stickler for suspension. Him and all is Ducati riding buddies detest skyhook suspension. I've never ridden one but I think I probably would like it if it's just a comfortable ride. They never could get used to it to like it. Does anybody have experience with this? I won't be doing track days, I do ride spirited around town and in the twisties. I like the idea of adjusting like that on the fly. Plus it's just easier to find one of these. Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)
@bolo1263 The skyhook Simi active suspension is complex, and some of the components are not serviceable and as with many active suspension systems they are not adjusted in the same manner as non active systems, so they feel soft at a standstill and stiffness is applied by an ecu as you ride for the conditions. Many people criticize this aspect, and do not like the idea they can't make the changes them selves. Others absolutely love it. It's soft when it should be a stiffer when you're riding hard or conditions call for it. With my rides on bikes with this system, I was impressed, the suspension worked fantastic with everything I through at it! I guess the downside would be if something went wrong with it, it would be an expensive fix....like anything on these bikes! Your not racing the bike, so I'm betting you would love it, and even if you were racing, you would need to know another about suspension to do better that this setup!
@TRCAdventures awesome! Thanks for all the info buddy. That helps a lot. I mean my other friend that tells me that they suck never could tell me why. He would just say they suck! Got to get you an ohlin's! Lol. It just makes it harder to find a multi straw that if that's what I want to buy as it's got to be like a 2012 or maybe a 15 or so I think? And only then it has to be a pikes peak as far as I know. But thanks again for the feedback.. definitely food for thought
Excellent review. Just picked up a 1260 S and loving it! Good explanation on the front brakes. I wondered why it free-wheeled so easily.
Thanks, Brilliant motorcycle! Congratulations on the new bike!

Hi there, would you happen to know the bend or model of those pro-taper bars?
I believe they are the Pro-taper adventure bar, they have two adventure bars, standard and high, I think these are the standard
