Don't use index finger for highs... Use all the four fingers from tip to the second knuckle tread (Go-Do)... And for the Pa-Ta highs use ur little finger on a sideways hitting motion on the rim... This is not the correct way to play Djembe

This «,Djembe' » has n'realy nasty sound, nothing to exalt about. There would be a way to play it right but for this one needs already a perception making this possible.... All this is not to consider as a good exemple in no way !

How different is this drum to darbuka?
This is a west african instrument and darbuka is a middle eastern instrument. The approach of playing is completely different
