But I couldn’t find anything in terms of tutorials for that kind of Darbuka.. I mean, the playing basics should be the same, But the fine-tuning details are different -I realized it when I was testing this kind of “doumbek” in comparison to one of mine… Even though the playing feeling is also different & sound, so I’ve definitely decided to buy another one))) and now I’m really happy to find the best tutorial on youtube😍
I don't know if many women take up the doumbek/darbuka, but, at 53, I hate that I am just now discovering it. Where has it been all the years of my life? Good thing we're never too old to learn something new, right? Thank you, young man for posting these lessons. You are an awesome teacher. I must be improving too, because the cats have stopped running away when I pick up the drum. When I have mastered the rhythm in this first lesson, I'll definitely move on to the next lesson... and the next lesson... and the next. This instrument is a joy... and so is your teaching. Well I'm 57 & just taken up learning the Doumbek. My arthritic hands not like it, but I love it. 😆
