Bear Down!!! Matt. Love to see the Arizona Mafia doing great!! Do you know what happened to Capt. Barhardt? My folks felt good leaving me with Col. Cone back in the day. The process for scholarship today is different than it was in the mid 80's
If you don’t make the cut for the October board (no decision has been made on your file), does that mean you will get bumped into the April board or will you get reviewed at each board between?
How much does this apply to NROTC Collegiate Mids? My daughter did not apply for NROTC scholarship, but was approached to apply for the NPP scholarship (which she did not get) but was accepted to join the NROTC program as a Collegiate member. She is now very interested in participating, and hopefully being considered for a 3-year scholarship next year.
We highly encourage joining NROTC and competing for a side-load scholarship. If she blooms where she is planted, she has a great chance of earning a scholarship.

How much emphasis is placed on physical fitness vs academic studies for prospective students in the scholarship selection process?
It depends if you are looking NROTC or Marine Corps Option, as they vary a lot! For NROTC, academics is 45% and PT is 5%.
Is PT a bigger part of it for the Marine option?
An average ACT of 33! That’s top 2% of test takers. Is it any wonder why they are short 2300 officers?
They have actually de-emphasized the ACT compared to the other ROTC scholarships. Only ~13% of the overall score for candidates is now SAT/ACT.
