I politely got out and walked back there and told the woman that there was a train and if she was in a hurry she was more then welcome to go around well she about ran me over, flipped me off and by the time she got to the tracks the train was already there and not only that but it cane to a stop. We set there with her right next to my truck in then other lane for over an hour when it finally moved. I seen one of the guys that was on the train and thanked him, he was a bit confused until I told him what had happened. Made my day.

Lost two friends to a train in Wisconsin 30+ years ago. Even more sad was they left behind a very little girl that miraculously survived the crash. The couple were taken to a local Hospital (band-aid station) that regrettably could do nothing to save them from the trauma they suffered but compassionately moved the conscious couple together in the same room next to each other so they could painlessly pass away together, softly talking and holding hands in a dimly lit room. My wife and I were in the same bowling league. It was very hard.

Fatal in less than 2 hours but simultaneously you are conscious (brain not that seriously injured) + working heart/lungs (talking); and they just put you in some dark room to die like it's the 1500s. We have a crossing like this on our road. We cross the tracks a few times every day. We know roughly when the trains travel each and every time, the traffic changes seasonally (more frequent crossing during harvest time.) We know the speed at which the trains travel when they cross the road. There are no arms or lights at the crossing. Each train that crosses is pretty short - rarely more than 15 cars. We know to look both directions each and every time we cross the tracks. Because the tracks are basically like a speed bump, we have to slow down to about 25 mph to cross without going all Dukes of Hazard.
Because of the very low speed of the train when it crosses, we know that as long as we are even or ahead of the train when we look at its location, we will cross the tracks first and in complete safety. In those rare cases where it might be a close call, we wait for the train to cross because it is extremely rare, and a lot of fun to watch trains. In any case, the vast majority of time we cross, there is no train. Still, we look in both directions each and every time. Even though the train travels very slowly, physics still tells us the outcome of train and car collision.
The drivers who crossed in this video probably know this crossing very well, and know that crossing in the way they did is very safe.
