No job or amount of money is worth your peace. Peace of mind and your mental health is priceless. People don't want to work because workforce environment are toxic and abusive.
I feel this. I’m not a nurse but my job was getting toxic but I stayed in fear of not being able to pay my bills. Huge mistake. I got fired but I should of quit LONG ago and trusted God to take care of my bills. Now I’m running my own business and life is so good. Quit if you need to !! Go out on faith and trust God! ❤️❤️
OMG! This comment resonates with me because this situation recently happened to me. I learned that when you see the signs early LEAVE A TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT! Don't give these jobs the opportunity to terminate you. At 27yo, I learned that no job is worth the stress or someone to play with your livelihood. Now, I'm planning on going your route of entrepreneurship and utilize my many skills and go for something huge. I don't have anything to loose. Thank you two ladies sharing yall stories this is truly inspiring to me.
It(bullying and micromanagement) is EVERYWHERE. I recently resigned via retirement from a government agency where I was employed for almost 30 years and served in management for almost 20 of those years after being bullied, harassed and micromanaged. I am glad that you chose your peace of mind over money. As the older folks used to say, "all money ain't good money."
For sure! It’s so discouraging that you find these awful behaviors in so many settings. I think it’s one of the biggest reasons why people don’t want to work anymore.
Sad to say my current situation just got a supervisor position last year it's almost coming to a year in a few months and I'm left feeling like I should of never took the position I'm in my early 30's I have anxiety now my blood pressure has went up I find myself wanting to cry in the bathroom ! I'm yelled at and disrespected every day !! The people who don't do right never gets anything did to them yet I try my best at everything and always get picked apart. Not to mention was never properly trained and the women I work with offer no help is like I'm always set up for failure and every man for themselves no team work at all!!😥😔
I quit my my job as a registered nurse last two years ago after almost 12 years in the field. It was not an easy decision, but life is too short to dread going to work everyday. No amount of money can buy real happiness Lol 😁but friends I'm not asking you to resign from your job or abandon your business but be wise!!
@@labeebasonia3781 While I was still in service I planned towards early retirement, making about 2k weekly from my retirement investment portfolio trying so much to build more side hustles and extra income
@@kimayaknight7180 wow impressive! You're making quite a fortune speaking of investing I have heard about this but I don't really know how to start and make a good investment. please can you explain
That toxic, junior high 'mean girls' mentality w/ minimal to no support from upper management is part of the reason nurses are burning out and leaving the field. I agree w/ you that *no* amount of $$'s is worth sacrificing your emotional/mental health for. Good for you for resigning and moving forward! You got this!!
Out facility actually Asked me, and encouraged us all to be that playground menace to teamwork which is essential in healthcare. I straight up told them how destructive that is and that I am too mature for that. I speak directly to someone if we have a difference. The people they liked the best and rewarded spent the most time in their offices.
No wonder why there is so many mistakes being made and malpractice. The medical field is not the place for that BS. Only the best of the best should be recruited because people's lives are on the line. 😔
Girl, I feel you. I walked away from the medical field entirely. My mental health is more important than having to navigate a toxic environment on the daily.
There should be stricter punishment for bullies in the workplace. When legislation is passed where you can sue your employer for allowing intimidation, harassment, and bullying by toxic people while doing nothing to weed them out, then things will change.
Some folks are really a liability to the institution. I think often times, the recipient of bullying/lateral violence exits the institution without putting up a fight. It can become so draining, most nurses resign quietly.
@@KendraRN You’re absolutely right. I had to walk away from a job at a hospital once because the environment was so toxic. There was a group of what I called gang-banging nurses that revealed in creating strife, confusion, and discord. Management was fully aware of it and some were a part of it. They were always short staffed because they couldn’t keep anyone there for too long before the gang bangers ran them off. I lasted two months and decided it was not worth me coming there and subjecting myself to the hostility of those psychopaths. I heard of one case where a nurse was driven to suicide by a toxic work environment controlled by mean nurses. There should be zero tolerance for this kind of foul behavior. Until laws are passed to punish bullies with termination of employment, and sue employers for allowing bullying to take place, nothing will change.
@@ohbreigh I also wish anti-bullying laws could be passed and enforced. Bullying is a very real and serious problem in healthcare. It has an adverse effect on every aspect of healthcare including staffing problems. There should be zero tolerance for bullies in the workplace and stiff penalties for those who bully and for management who allow it.
I work in LTC as a LPN. It’s not just the toxic staff. It’s management ,the patients/residents and the family members. All of these things add up to such a toxic work environment that you can’t believe. Nurses are 🏃♀️ out of my job like the place is on fire.
Tracey, same here. I worked in LTC as an LPN. I left my full time job and went seasonal instead. I'm going into trucking. I start cdl school next week. The goal is to team drive with my husband. It's over the road so I'll be driving to all 48 states. I can't wait to start.
Yes the nursing home is one of the worse I’ve experienced!!!! It seems like everyone is in a bad mood and the CNAs and nurses are either arguing or it’s family and the patients creating toxicity… 😫😫😫 Until these nursing homes change patient nurse ratios, provide better pay, and ensure proper resources it will never get better!
Facts! I work in a LTC too, and it the most messy place to work. Thank God I work nights(PRN) and have good staff, no family, management to deal with. And they are running away. 😆 🤣 😂 😹
@@alexandrahendrick4352 congratulations on becoming a nurse. I am just starting to change my career to nursing. The stability not money is attracting me but I would think that with the shortage of nursing older nurses would be more willing to help instead of eating their young. The toxicity has to go definitely.
I’m not a nurse or a black woman. I stumbled across your channel on accident. I have a lot of admiration for you and how you handle things with toxic people at work. I’m struggling myself with being micromanaged at work. No matter how kind i am or how hard i work, i get treated like ass by my boss. She bows down to the ones who come in late, stand around, and do half ass jobs. She’s constantly on my ass all the time. I can’t do anything right. Do not ask her any questions bc the answer will be another question or a huge belly sigh. She likes to point out any minor flaws i may have and she never gives any positive reinforcement when i deserve it. The better the mood I’m in, the harder she is on me. It’s her personal mission to knock me down instead of lift me up. She sings the praises to the ones who come in late or call off constantly or do half ass jobs. It’s school girl mentality. It’s petty and childish. I’ve done a lot of self reflection bc it’s really bothering me to work so hard to be the best person i can be everyday just to be treated like a POS everyday by someone who’s supposed to be my leader. I’ve concluded that the problem is her and not me. She’s already run out 3 other really good employees before i came on. Im making really good money and the people i take care of tell me constantly how great they think i am. I am a glass half full person and I’ve been through a lot of shit in my life. So much shit that the glass should really not be half full at all, it should be broken down in a million pieces all over the floor. I don’t wear my problems all over my shirt. I’ve gotten really good at hiding them and leaving them at home especially when I’m on someone else’s clock and I’m getting paid. Misery loves company is what it boils down to. She hates herself so she sees me all happy and sweet and she wants me to hate myself too. I really like what you said about how you have your own set of goals and you won’t let anyone make you feel like you have to quit working towards them. I also really like what you said about $$ and no amount will ever be enough to make you stay somewhere that makes you uncomfortable. These are the things I’m struggling with at work. I feel like it’s all a test from a higher power. Thank you for being someone who people can look to for strength and courage with these issues. I need a little bit of you inside of me; A fierce, intelligent, kind, and outspoken woman who knows her boundaries and worth.
Mam you need to quit that job...please start applying for positions elsewhere. This boss of yours will eventually dim your light. You spend 8-14 hours a day of your life at your job so its too many hours of your life miserable
quit the job. staying there would just worsen your mental health. your manager is just projecting towards you. her acting that way towards you does not have anything to do with you personally, so do not think that there is anything wrong with you. unfortunately many professions with majority women are catty and toxic. i never had a good experience with a female manager except for 1. theres plenty of other nursing jobs out there and you can even get into nursing informatics. the opportunities are endless.
This mess is SPIRITUAL & cannot be fought by natural means! People are using all types of mind games in order to control others. Laugh if u will but those who are succeeding are winning because we've bn taught that spirits, etc are not real. They are indeed real & have an impact on people. The solution ? Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ!!! He will answer!!!!
I quit my very well paid job because of a toxic supervisor. It wasn’t planned it was a cross between dealing with a severely sick daughter in ICU back to back plus a toxic supervisor - not everyone there was toxic but the issues she had with me was to the point I said ok I come in every day give it all I got, correct mistakes I make but you want to rub them in like nobody else makes typos - so then find someone better. It’s been a terrible situation and I should’ve found a job before quitting - that’s my advice if you do decide to. I’m starting from scratch and it’s the most terrifying experience since almost losing my daughter to asthma.
Can I just say that I was a Respiratory Therapist for 30 years. I started out in the 80's. No way in hell would I be able to work in that mess. I have Nurse friends that are going through that now. I live in Florida. It's like that EVERYWHERE. Too many Chiefs or want to be Chiefs and not enough Indians. Back Stabbing, Bullying, running around like little Bee's wanting to tell this one and that one. I am so glad I'm retired as I would be telling people off daily :-)
Unbelievable smh I work in the IT side of healthcare and is same awful in my dept. People get corrected reprimanded chastised for some of the most petty reasons - like I completed 80 orders but ur correcting me because I did not create repetitive comments in all 3 disjointed systems. R u done - good now let me regroup so I can assist another 80 request.
I've worked as a nurse for approximately 15 years, most of it in Atlanta Georgia, it's been tough as nails for me, I couldn't wait to retire.....Nurses don't treat each other well for the most part, I've experienced jobs where nurses were stealing the narcotics, coming to work smelling of alcohol, hanging the wrong IV meds on patients, In cliques with CNA's.....I was trained in the military so they took offense to that because my way of practicing nursing was different, a higher standard, I actually worked at Grady Hospital.....I left Atlanta and retired soon after, I suffered PTSD not from the Army, from my nursing career having to deal with the level of unprofessionalism, and witnessing the mistreatment of patients at different facilities......Thanx for sharing your story✌🏽
I moved to Georgia right after finishing my RN clinical program in Chicago. Before I took my boards, I found myself the only person on post cardiac surgery floor who could identify a dissecting aortic aneurysm or change the paper in the EKG machine. This was at the leading cardiac hospital at 400/285 back in the mid 80s. I elected to work across the street as an RN, it was no better there. I guess even a teaching hospital like Grady isn't immune to the problems.
Omg nurses are evil to each other and to CNA. It's shocking. If they get together all they do is gossip about one nurse or the other. Always up to report someone! Gosh plus the racism! I'm stunned!
There is a bit of everything everywhere, but for the most part, we leave the bedside because we cannot and will not subdue ourselves to a broken system of poor work conditions and abuse. I am retiring also, and very happy to do so. When I went into nursing, I thought I will continue working as long as my body allowed it because I wanted to help and be a good nurse, until reality set in.
I’m always intrigued by these kinds of videos because years ago I was pressured by my family to get into nursing. They didn’t care that the mere thought of blood made me nauseous. It’s what the women in our family does to live a financially comfortable lifestyle. I quit school after my first year and decided to go for a career in aerospace. Hearing these stories makes me feel like I made the right choice. What’s the point of making all of that money if you’re miserable and have no time to spend it
I had my moment of clarity eight years ago when two doctors ticked me off.Simply put in my papers ,retired and called out the last two weeks. Received my sick, vacation, comp time ,extended illness, 457B money, and monthly pension.Glad I retired it save my life .4 former coworkers of mine have died over the last eight years.
Yup my wife use 2 go to a job she hated! I encouraged her to quit and it took time but she eventually quit. Being your own boss isn’t easy either as we started our own business. However you control your time and your own financial security being your own boss. My thing is trust God and faith with hard work is the key. You will be surprised once you start on the journey on being your own boss doors start to open and the Good Lord bless you! Me and my wife don’t want to ever go back to nobody’s job. I have always wanted to be my own boss and my wife’s personality doesn’t fit working for a job. Keep us in prayer yall and we will do the same. Believe and walk in faith and trust everyone you can achieve no matter what it looks like. We are no different than anybody who makes their dream a reality. Let’s go!
So glad things are working out for you all. Unfortunately, not everyone can be self-employed because their are too many services that you and I need in order to survive in this society.
I did every exam and met every qualification to go into nursing school and I was a CNA and needed to improve my income. Well, working as CNA MADE ME KNOW THAT I DONT WANT TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH PATIENT CARE, NURSING, DIRECT HEALTHCARE AND DEALING WITH NURSES WHO THINK THEY ARE DOCTORS. So, I moved into laboratory science where I can be by myself.
@@CAcakefacemel medical Laboratory scientists. I used my bachelors in biomedical science to enroll in the program. We process and result blood & bodily fluids (urine, sputum, stool…) as well as microbiological specimens (wound cultures, vaginal swabs..)When you go to do routine blood work we work behind the scenes to get it resulted accurately. We are the backbone of hospitals and healthcare systems. Without a lab there can be no true diagnosis.
@@KendraRN at my hospital the nurses take no initiative to collect patients blood. As a matter of a fact they cannot draw blood (a skill I think would be critical for any nurse). They constantly call the lab to draw blood and will leave the patient without bloodwork for days if no one comes.
This is why I try to be super welcoming and opening to all of our travel nurses. I introduce myself and tell them to call me for anything or if they need any supplies or have questions. Bullying is a real issue and as a tech, I do my best to make sure they feel comfortable🌈
Thank you. I'm a pct at the hospital and 2 people have welcomed me and these aren't even people I will ever work with or see again because we're on different floors. I feel extremely unwelcome, esp because this is my 1st pct job ever.
I had a roommate who used to be a nurse, and the toxic work environment there (especially the bullying, tattling, cliques, and backstabbing) are worse than anything I’ve experienced in show business.
I am sick and tired of the bullying, sabotage and micromanagement in these hospitals! You are correct! You should be able to use your phone when you would like especially if you are not taking pics of patients or their charts. So glad you took a stand! Would love to work with you!
I'm an OR nurse and sometimes when the anesthesiologist asks me to go get a certain drug from the pyxis and I have no clue what it is I whip out my phone by the pyxis and Google it. Then I show it to the anesthesiologist to double check. As long as you're not taking selfies what's the problem with using your phone as a resource
I’m a RN too. In my last permanent job, everyone just use to sleep with each other, so just imagine the toxicity in that place🤮now I just do agency work in different places across the city. I earn 2x more than what I was before.
My work was like that. We worked long hours and their were affairs going on . It was disgusting people did this. One guy was messing w two girls and got them both pregnant. At the same time he got promoted to manager knowing all this. Most unprofessional place ever
I am a nurse and I work in Baltimore so I have my thoughts as to which institution this was. But this behavior is true at EVERY institution! It sucks what nurses do to each other! The "mean girl" cliques are alive and thriving. Some people love reliving the 5th grade....
I’ve been an RN for 21 years and my stress and job/life balance isn’t near what you’re describing as a bedside nurse, and I am at MY wits end right now in nursing! Quitting the field has crossed my mind at least 3 times a day in the last 2 years!! It. Is. Insane.
Same here! I’m in 18 years and completely agree with you. I have been proactive with new jobs, searched new jobs based on current employee statements, I have stated my intentions to promote positivity and teamwork with growth in ethics during interviews and nothing, absolutely nothing works out. It’s always the same thing. Where RNs used to get 2-3 weeks training at new jobs, is now 2-3 days. Management has fake open door policies, HR is never on the employee side, upper management is immature with poor communication and leadership skills who bank on the “they are a dime a dozen so who cares” philosophy. Meanwhile, it’s the patients that suffer. Now it’s acceptable for patient to nurse abuse because at least the facility is making money. Healthcare practices are CRUMBLING VERY VERY QUICKLY. Nobody has control or authority or accountability
People want to work that many hours?! Couldn't be me at all. I will do my cute 36 hours and keep it moving. I have only been an ICU nurse for 2 years but I have seen so much toxicity that goes on and it is so tired. But this is what happens when people don't get checked on the regular by friends and family and get power happy and try to bring that into work. I am hoping my second travel assignment goes well. I am so sorry you had to deal with that!
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! The hours were crazy. I went against my personal beliefs and values by working that contract. I don’t believe in working such crazy hours. It results in poor care for the patients. You would like an amazing person, I hope your next assignment goes well also.
All the mean girls in high school are now Nurses..90% of encounters with Nurses are super rude . I was CNA at a hospital, and hated it b/c of the Nurses. Left and went to skilled nursing.
I can't laugh!! They should call them.."bad nurses club," and I'm an RN..I'm nice, but it's true half of the nurses I work with are trouble makers..so I keep to myself.
Preach!! I’m currently in the most petty, cliquish, toxic and targeted bullying I’ve ever been in. There’s always toxicity in nursing but this is on a different level. The nepotism and blatant exclusion of people there is insane. I gotta get out of there asafp. But I’m not going quietly and honestly I’m prob going to see an attorney.
I’m on the other side, my mom had a very large tumor removed on May 2, 2022 at Johns Hopskins in Baltimore. The nurse shortage was very apparent, I saw it, felt it and experienced it. I stayed with my mom for six days. The nurses were obviously over worked and depending on help from lab technicians. By day three, the nurses were depending on me to help with minor things.
Thank you for sharing your story. Working in a toxic environment is the worst and can bring a nurse a lot of anxiety. I hope your next job has a positive and supportive environment. Also, remember HR is never your friend, they only protect the company and not the employee . Lol.
I worked critical care as a cna and it completely burnt me out. The cliques were bad and had been there for over 20 years, the racism, the micromanaging. It was a cold mean environment and it was 12 hours overnight. I was so excited to work in critical care to learn and grow and all it did was burn me out and I left the medical field. I plan to return to the medical field because I’m great at nursing and I don’t want to let that horrible experience stop me. It’s been about 4 years. Thanks for your video❤️❤️❤️❤️Sorry you went through that!
I am a nurse assistant I wish I saw this video earlier, I would just quit instead of staying there to be fired. I got hired at this place where many of my coworkers feel like the only way to get up ⬆️ is to bring another person down . With that being said the littlest thing they stretch it as much as they can to make sure they look good, one even lied about me to the managers, at the end of the day all she wanted was to look like the perfect nurse. With complete disregard of what this will bring to someone else’s household , I was already living paycheck to paycheck then to have this lady for no reason at all decide to petition for me to lose my job, I am glad in a way I left this behind , maybe there is something better at the horizon waiting for me ❤
The most annoying thing is that they make it look like they are promoting safety when all they are being is toxic. When you try to defend yourself, they tag you a threat to safety. May those toxic nurses experience their kind .
I am a Healthcare assistant and this issue is very prominent here in the uk too. This is why i have fell out of love with the whole healthcare industry. There's far too many people who make it such a hostile environment and uncomfortable place to work. I've planned my exit and couldn't be happier to leave as much as i love the job. The staff aren't the nicest people you will meet it seems to be a common trait where ever you go. I've worked all over England and the sentiment remains the same. Great job, miserable staff. 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿💩
I am not a nurse. However I do work at VA hospital. One thing I have come to know is that nurses can be absolutely wonderful with their patients but towards each other? Woo chile, talk about WWIII!!!
I just came off an assignment where they micromanaged. I was completely TURNED OFF. A reminder is cool, but damn. I would b running around all night & didn't sit down & they're calling me about restraints. I know I have restraints. I'll do it when I get a chance 2 sit down. The money was awesome, so I got it done, but NEVER again. I'm hella professional, so micromanaging me is a no go.
It is such a turnoff! I cannot work in conditions where my charts are being audited as I am working. Nurses are professionals but get treated like juveniles. I am with you all the way!
As another Black RN working in an ED in an urban area (in Delaware..within the Philly metro area) with predominantly white female nurses, who could care less about members of our community; I not only felt this but I feel the urge to make a change ASAP!
Wow, thanks for sharing. This is so concerning to me. I’m not saying stay in a toxic environment bc honey - no one should stay in that. But what concerns me is the lack of representation within our community across the country. So many black women and men in the field are leaving. I have personally experienced white nurses who treated me very nasty, no compassion, yet I could hear the difference in their tone and bedside manner with someone of THEIR RACE close by. It was the first time I could truly note that she was clearly biased and, sadly, racist in her treatment. It truly concerns me for brothas and sistas that have to go under the care of a hospital or medical facility. It’s incredibly dangerous.
As a white Nurse I experienced this in Georgia. Sad That nurse can’t back each other up, we are supposed to be in it for the love of the work, not to nit pick!
@@sveronih5376 As one of the few white women where I worked, I definitely got bullied and harassed. It was insane. I'd never done anything to them. I was very good at my job; patients loved me. I am so glad I got the hell out of there. I definitely felt like they didn't like me cause I'm white.
This videos help me release that it is was a blessing that I never finished nursing school and only settled for a CNA. I’m 27 and I’m changing my entire career path.
Unfortunately, there are people with emotional and mental health disorders(e.g. bipolar, obsessive compulsive behavior) that work in the nursing field. Not to mentioned they are followers of the 7 deadly sins excessive GREED, envy etc. . As a direct result, these type of individuals(bullies, micromanagers) have made the nursing work environment very toxic and unprofessional. SMH
I worked in a unit and at the nurses station all the nurses were sharing their psych meds and how many mg they were on. I realized I was the only one working drug free in my right mind handling all the stress naturally Lol
oouuu lordt i feel your pain! I've been an EMS worker since 2010 and after 2020 and how my department screwed us over I AM OVER IT!! I'm over the abuse, toxic workplace and all around being at my wits end....I cant do it anymore. They dont want to give us a livable wage and they're demanding us to do more than what we're being paid.
Always! It’s important for workers to stick together. There are power in numbers but usually, most people are afraid to stick to an agenda that will shake up the workplace.
girl I have experienced everything you have said. This is why I work with apps, I pick up the days and shifts I want to work. I cannot deal with the toxicity and the micromanagment. And they wonder why nursing is in crisis.
IM IN SHOCK!! I'm in my early twenties and also worked in a toxic work environment and I'm in shock because I had no idea that toxic work environments existed in professional work environment especially where the patients are a number one priority I greatly thank you for sharing your story and oppeness as when I first experienced toxicity in the work environment I truly thought I just misread the signal so thank you I will never be niave to the true dangers of a toxic work place again
I'm happy that you walked away . I believe the entire medical field will transition from what it is now due to staff working under horrible conditions.
Sending huge love from The United Kingdom👋🏾🇬🇧, Sadly toxicity is such a universal thing and in any team work job there are individuals who use the opportunity to bring their high school bulling tendencies along. I have stayed on in less paying jobs just for my sanity and peace, because life is just too precious♥️
This is why I subscribed: you just described exactly what I am dealing with in my current unit your thoughts and experience and everything, and I am so scared all of the time that I am sick everyday, and nursing is scary enough! Thank you for your help with making me realize that it isn’t me it is my unit and that is such a difficult thing for me to say because I work with some awesome people but that doesn’t take away the fact that I am terrified to go to work the next night because I don’t know who is going to tell on me next for any reason, or I get “coached” about something else after a horrible night and that is just no way to live…at this point I would rather deal with sketchy neighborhoods than being in a “perfect” hospital that feels like a prison.
Alot of nurses use their phones as a resource, to check medication, diagnosis, etc. When a nurse is new to the system the time it takes to find info is time consuming.
It's gonna be a lot of anxiety and toxicity unfortunately. It's sad. Me and my friends are so over it. You will be overworked and overwhelmed and it's not healthy. That's why I'm leaving bedside. I'm going into admin side of nursing as soon as I can.
Hi ! The good thing is that you are aware and hopefully will use whatever I share to navigate your way in the career. I didn’t have a head up when I started and that’s why I am sharing these thoughts and experiences.
This vlog just came over my "For You" page. I haven't excepted a travel or agency assignment where everything you just stated didn't happen. I've been a nurse a long time and have enjoyed different nursing assignments. My background is CCU and CTICU, love the fast pace and the ability to critically think. I've also worked in toxic environments and I run far from places like that. I will not be miserable when I spend more time at work than at home. Life is to short and money is temporary and can always be made. I'm happy you stood your ground and left.
You are spot on with the clickety-click clack because when they figured out I didn't wanna be a part of the in-crowd they tried no they did tell every Lil thing I did it was so bad I would go to the bathroom and remind God he gave me this position and only he could take it away, and begin to tell him how I felt. Long story short, my manager she claims she took a director position and the other nurse didn't renew her contract and my fellow co-worker started speaking to me out of nowhere, at that moment which took some time. I knew God had stepped in and worked it out.
I just ran across your video it’s a month old however , you are spot on 💯 correct. I quit my job as a healthcare administrator 6/10 I couldn’t take it anymore. I’ve also worked side by side with wonderful nurses doing registration. I literally couldn’t take the micromanaging anymore and the bs. I’m also familiar with the systems you mentioned Cerner and Epic because we work with the nurses . I start driving trucks Monday that’s how bad it is lately. My family looking at me like really. But yeah everything you said about toxic work environments is facts .
I quit nursing 8 years ago and it was not an easy decision to do so. I worked in ICU and I think I was traumatized by the unsafe nursing ratios. My mental health is much better now.
Nursing is not the same. Covid has changed a lot of things and it is sad. The hospital is losing a lot of good workers and the toxic people are staying. They are polluting the atmosphere. I'm in Healthcare and I can not wait for my permanent exit. Stay 💪 and stay safe.
Honey this happened across the board all the kind hard working people burned out doing the right thing and the lazy bullies stayed behind doing the bare minimum probably 🤣🤣🤣
I can relate to everything you said. I’ve been a nurse for twenty years. Even I experience the bullying in a new workplace, it’s like they “come for you.” If you know what I mean. They need your help and at the same time try to drive you away. Some nurses are just mean to other nurses. It’s sad😞
I recently got fired from a contract nursing job for not using a stethoscope on the patient for assessment. They said it's false documentation and then they reported me to the head of my agency and the board of nursing. Now the agency doesn't want to work with me even though I've had successful contracts with them in the past. I think they just needed an excuse to let me go.
@@tdotwire101 Im a bedside rn. On some patients I didn't feel the need to use stethoscope so I didn't document any assessment of lung sounds for them. All I could document for that system was WNL (within normal limits) if the patient didn't had any respiratory problems. In my pervious jobs, we were told to do that since you can use your nursing judgement to prioritize whom you think needs proper lung assessment. Some facilities understand that in a busy shift there are more important things to focus on than that. Just talking about it makes me mad, because I know they did me wrong.
@@luminouscali I never heard from the board. Thankfully, nothing happened. My guess it that they thought this to be a trivial case, and didn't bother doing anything about it.
Kendra RN, your story is nothing compared to what goes on in hospitals in London. It’s everything you said and more x10, hence a severe shortage of nurses in the UK. Cliques, toxicity, stress, dreadful backstabbing senior ward sisters you name it, it’s very bad here. Another thing, according to statistics here most nurses either end up with dementia, heart attacks/strokes or dead around their retirement age. That is according to statistics.
That’s why God told me to walk away from my job as an RN. You get stuck in that toxic environment for the duration of your career. Now, you know if you want to level up meaning being an entrepreneur, it would be impossible for you to manifest higher realities due to the stress for one and the toxicity of the work environment that includes everything and everyone. Now that I’m out of Nursing my thought are positive and definitely lining up with destiny. #knowthyworth.
This makes me sad. I got out of the field over 7 years ago due to the same type of BS. I was hoping it has gotten better over the years with the way the whole staff should come together with the pandemic but clearly i was wrong! So glad to hear someone standing up against toxic work places!!!
She left she didn’t stand up, it will never get better human nature has so many complexities. Every environment has these uncomfortable toxic issues, sadly.
And it has a VERY negative impact on the quality of patient care. I was a hospital patient quite recently and directly bore witness to the drama (highly unprofessional) and significantly and palpably experienced negative effects in terms of medical treatment as a result of such drama.
Thank you for your honesty! It's really interesting hearing these stories from nurses, as it helps me decide what I'll be doing with this career as an upcoming nurse, when I am finished my last year of school
The main thing I want new nurses to understand is to not carry the burden or feel incompetent due to poor management and hospitals caring more about money. They used to be successful gaslighting us but we’re speaking up now.
@@KendraRN Thank you! This is so true. The toxicity and behavior of some nurses is astonishing. Just watching some co-assigns, compared to PSW/PCA and other staff like food services, shows you the differences in people. Nurses treating their own worse. While other staff are usually so nice to everyone. And as a QTBIPOC, it's always the white, hetero nurses or random POC nurses who have been raised in the toxicity, who act the worst. Management is always shit. I have yet to see a hospital where workers love their job and management isn't problematic
I love your video I've been a Nurse for 14 years and the first thing I learned early was trust no one if you suppose to take care of something and you didn't have time I would rather stay over and complete it or skip my break than to ever trust anyone to help. Nurses will smile in your face and say it's ok and go straight to management to report you its a dog eat dog field and it's sad because we are the backbone of patient care it's this way because these new age nurses are in it for a bag and not the compassion of caring for your follow human being. I recently left my long time job I been in since I graduated nursing school because the lack of respect I dedicate my life and my family life to my job exposing us to so much because my heart beats nursing but I will never sacrifice my integrity for no job so I moved on and I'm some where new and pray I don't have to check no one no time soon lmaoooo 🤣 many blessings to you in your career and keep up the good work 💖
I was a first year nurse just prior to C-19 and was experiencing bullying before my dept. closed. I was very discouraged and now 2 yrs. later I am very reluctant to return to nursing. This really is something that should be addressed because I went back to school at 50 yrs. old to care for others and was told once I achieved that to expect that I would be mistreated, not trained and thrown to the wolves because nurses eat their young. This is stupid. They should be eager to welcome someone who is looking forward to becoming a part of the team. I just don't understand. I think I may be done.
I’ve a friend whose older and I believe to be making her happiness dependent on career advancement. She’s chosen to attend nursing college. I wonder if maybe the interaction with other medical personnel and direct patient care will be the fulfillment Emily is seeking, or if she’s setting herself up for yet another disappointment. From my limited understanding attrition among new nurses is quite high. And it’s a shame because someone is forever mentioning nursing shortages.
Great video. I can relate to many of red flags you mentioned in different fields. Knowing what I know now I’ll never work in a toxic work environment. Many of these organizations are still functioning with dinosaur aged systems that kill productivity and time . Next, the micromanagement culture is terrible.
Hi!!! I am so glad that we are starting to realize what is really important. The days of tolerating toxicity and normalizing it is over. Our employers do not own us, we have a right to peace of mind.
@@KendraRN I totally agree. When I 1st started I had employers not train me and provide me with the tools in needed to get the job done. Unfortunately, during that time I was up tight ( coming from a abusive situation) for a job and needed the income. Working in multiple toxic environments only made my health decline. Knowing what I know now . I know what to look for and what to ask for upfront. I alway ask What systems are used at the organization What is the onboarding process , if they don’t mention training on the system(s), that is red flag for me.
OMG you hit the nail on the head! I am a hospital social worker and traveled for a few years and I experienced the same thing as a traveler. Traveling can be exciting yet you will encounter some very toxic people. Good luck to all of my travelers.
I worked at hospital recently as a PCT that was routinely under staffed. We were expected to handle 12 and more patients working with 4 and 5 nurses demanding that you do what they want done immediately. At this job in my first few days there I had to perform CPR which revived the patient and saved her life, and had to do the Heimlich maneuver to stop a patient dying from chocking. At review time I was judged as average. I quit after a year.
its the same way with a dialysis therapist . The dialysis therapist has to carry out 100 % of the renal replacement therapy and has to monitor 4 to 5 dialysis patients at the same time , but are paid poor wage plus in a toxic workplace .
I worked as PCT also at a hospital about 12 years ago and they had a pair care system (nurse/ PCT). We had up to 8 patients. They switched back to the old way 3 months later. 12 patients and 3/4 nurses who all think their patients are priority. Crazy environment! I quit 2 months later.
@@kloatlanta The simplicity of sitting and scanning items sounds tempting after the complex and stressful work dynamics they've gone through, but these are nurses with degrees. They'll find better jobs.
I’m am dealing with this at my pct job right now. They are short staff and want me to take 18 patients (on a critical floor so most can’t do anything themselves) and draw labs for about 10-12 patients. A nurse complained about me and the manager came to talk to about my time management problem. Like this is normal and I should be able to get everything done. I have so much anxiety going to work now but I need this job cause I’m in nursing school and it is so flexible. There aren’t any other hospitals in my area that aren’t an hour away. I am so exhausted and drained physically and mentally after one shift, I can’t be everywhere at once, sucks.
I've been a CNA now MA for 22 years. Was finishing my prerequisites up when it came time to petition into a nursing program. I decided nursing is not for me anymore, because the environment is just unsafe and toxic. I know all too well what you are talking about. I've seen a lot in 22 years working lots of areas. I'm working on an exit plan from MA.
i understand your story very well, my sister. I have 64 years of nursing, and concluded early on that we are the most non-cooperative group of colleagues! We are professionals and treated like idiots! This is the first time in my life that I truly was fed up with the system! There are some beautiful nurses in this profession, and because of the stupidity and childish actions, and NO COMMON SENSE, more nurses are going to leave the environments! So congrats to you! Keep up the good work and DO YOU! There is no fool like an educated one.....
I’m heart broken. Came across this. I have been a nurse for 28 years and I am so damaged from Covid, vaccine mandates with subsequent job loss and then returning to major staffing shortages. I can’t do it any more. My body won’t let me. I’m at such a loss.
Kendra I LOVE your videos! I totally can relate to everything you present. I’m a nurse for 20 plus years and have “ seen it all”. U are very articulate, progressional and insightful. I LOVE NURSING TOO, but I am burnt out. 😢Keep your videos coming. I love them.
I absolutely love everything you said and how you said it. I am sick of the walking on eggshells mentality in nursing. Being outspoken is frowned upon but being a snitch and a tattle-teller who goes around bullying is highly rewarded. I am done with this career after 16 years. Sick of it
Nurses can be so awful to each other. I haven’t seen any changes and organizations address the issues bakery vaguely. Are you still working at the bedside?
On my first assignment I had a manager that just start talking to me about stuff needing to be done better without getting my take of things as if im guilty of what she heard. The charge nurse was after Me & did a lot of mean things . Many travelors talked about how this lady give travelors the blues . I know that tattle tail crap all too well. I don’t tolerate bullying either, it gives me anxiety . I’ve been a nurse for 12years as well. I can relate to basically everything you said. This is the very reason I’m continuing my education for NP to kinda have more autonomy & to decrease my interactions as much with messy nurses. They tried to hit me with the cellphone crap. I’m thousands of miles away from my fam , my work is done, my shift is ending and I pick up my phone discreetly at the desk. to order food to have for when I get home , and it’s a problem etc . It was like they watch every move & magnify it .. anyway Ty for sharing ! You were so articulate & I liked that you got straight to the point . I subscribed for sure
I clicked immediately I saw nursing and i subscribed 😊,I must commend you for being brave peace of mind is everything in as much as we all like money some shit ain't worth it keep it up 👍
I have left positions post haste that have micro managers on the first thing smoking. There is nothing worse than the lies and work clicks been there experienced that and I have no patience. I now sit like a praying mantis for good positions now and if I find anything wrong during interviews or on boarding it is a no go. I got written up for something petty like the girl you mentioned, just because. Now I have been in Healthcare for years and now I get this it feels like an attack on credibility and good record. If a place appears toxic it is just run.

I believe you. I was an Ultrasound sonographer(26years). I kept a log of years' worth of incidents, insults and other interactions leading up to my complete departure from the field and retirement. When I presented it, although I logged it daily on Facebook, they actually accused me of sitting down and writing 3 years' worth of interactions. I still have them till this day because I always think that one day, I can get together with other nurses, techs, physicians, and surgeons who have had those same experiences. The money is great but the environment of hospitals and clinical settings are indeed toxic, whether permanent or locum tenens.
I had a toxic work environment working for the BIA in VA. I was a contractor and both contractors and gov’t employees were so toxic. I’m about to start pharmacy school. The day they let me go was such a blessing. There are so many toxic people in the DMV it’s crazy.
I would have never thought that nursing would be so toxic when you went through school to heal people. It’s exactly what you said workplace bullying. That’s the problem with these companies their old tactics are not being tolerated.
The instructors are also bullies. My med surge teacher kept telling me I’m going to fail and not graduate I ended up dropping her class. She has no compassion and uses her ex military as an excuse to act that way.
Nurses need a balance between direct and indirect care. Have you considered switching to informatics, case management, education, etc. You can do direct care prn. Doing direct care until retirement in this day and age may send you to the grave before your time. Protect your mental space.
I completely understand what you mean about toxicity, tattletales and micro managing! I left a job I loved as an Oncology RN, my first job after graduating, because of this very reason. I lost a job because of Nurses who were anonymously reporting me via email to management for multiple things I never did!! They even said I was drinking on the job and I smelled like alcohol when they weren't even within 10 ft of me. Humiliation at the worst to be escorted by 2 managers at the start of shift to ER to go through 6 hrs there just to prove them wrong because I don't even drink 😅!!! It's so sad a great profession is so tainted now
I had a massive stroke and was in the ICU in a big hospital in Boston. I would have loved to have you as my nurse. I like how straightforward you are and how you communicate.
Kendra I am sorry of how the load of nursing has gotten so pressing for our nurses. We truly need yall but respect and overload is not what you signed up for. For the past couple of years the overwhelming duty and emotion of nursing has increased tremendously. I pray that you as well as other can find a happy medium with pay for all your hard work. I appreciate you and all Nurses. Actually, my three daughters are nurses and it is very rough.

Wow, I quit nursing because of constantly looking over my shoulder, and the nit picking, etc. It's a passive hostile environment. Those women are very manipulating and evil, some one says if you want to be a w itch or a b itch be a nurse. They are back stabbing and not right. I went into home care which has it's own worries. Big up to all the good nurses out there, stay strong.
Whaaaat? A mole on a unit? A toxic work environment in a hospital? Say it isn't so!!! I can't think of any unit I have worked on that didn't have a least one mole working for a manager. Of course the mole enjoys a preferred patient assignment, only works days, and if BFF with the unit manager. One unit I worked on had 5 super young Charge nurses who all had limited experience but all owed the manager for their early career promotion...they all paid off their debt working as part of a mole network!
Girl that was definitely some pettiness with that sheet. Anddddd that is one of the many reasons I don’t trust people with my paperwork. I’m sure her resignation was a build up. Good for you for moving on “all money ain’t good money”
I understand the whole friend thing. Im gonna tell u a story. Our old manager would not give us raises because we found out these new people she would hire were her personal friends. She would recruit her friends, talked them into leaving their current jobs, and use yearly employee raises to pay her friends more. If it wasnt for one girl who figured it out, we would still be making pennies. It didnt happen overnight either. It was years of underpaying employees. It took months for the top leadership to investigate. I was one of the people who got cheated. I was furious! Thank God i left.
girl as soon as you said " mole", I was like " someone wants to get in good so their contract gets extended". As a former night nurse I can tell you...working 4 days in a row is way different than 4 nights, let alone 5 nights. I remember working 4 in a tow and thinking " im so tired i could cry". If the hospital is so concerned with safety, then do ever use three emr's. when you said that i like gasped. but so typical...wont spend the proper money for one emr so now we have someone watching you chart over your shoulder. Lastly on the cell phones..im not fully feeling you on personal cell use on the floor, but hey ..my pt is getting a weird med im not familiar with..i use my cell, i need to do a dose calc ..cell. It can be a work tool. Also my floor had a saying " dont "f" with someones cash ".

That toxic, junior high 'mean girls' mentality w/ minimal to no support from upper management is part of the reason nurses are burning out and leaving the field.

No wonder why there is so many mistakes being made and malpractice. The medical field is not the place for that BS. Only the best of the best should be recruited because people's lives are on the line. 😔
Half the time, upper management is the problem.
Yes! It is majority upper management without a doubt! How does it stop??

I did to and i wasn’t a nurse. I was a HIT/HIM. It’s toxic all around.
As a patient it is terrifying that all the people who actually care are being nitpicked and bullies out by the nasties
💯
There should be stricter punishment for bullies in the workplace. When legislation is passed where you can sue your employer for allowing intimidation, harassment, and bullying by toxic people while doing nothing to weed them out, then things will change.
Some folks are really a liability to the institution. I think often times, the recipient of bullying/lateral violence exits the institution without putting up a fight. It can become so draining, most nurses resign quietly.
@@KendraRN
You’re absolutely right.
How I wish the government would pass a LAW related to BULLYING at work place environment and can be implemented immediately!!!!

I also wish anti-bullying laws could be passed and enforced. Bullying is a very real and serious problem in healthcare. It has an adverse effect on every aspect of healthcare including staffing problems.
There should be zero tolerance for bullies in the workplace and stiff penalties for those who bully and for management who allow it.
I have submitted EEOC claims and have searched for lawyers numerous times and have ended up empty handed
I work in LTC as a LPN. It’s not just the toxic staff. It’s management ,the patients/residents and the family members. All of these things add up to such a toxic work environment that you can’t believe. Nurses are 🏃♀️ out of my job like the place is on fire.

Preach! PTSD in nursing is a chronic issue that everyone refuses to address. Thanks for u your service BTW.
I'm stunned!
bro 😅 PTSD from work is real
What’s the point of making all of that money if you’re miserable and have no time to spend it
It’s important to follow your passion. My mother was insistent on me becoming a nurse because she never wanted me to be jobless.
You definitely made the right choice. Sounds cool😎!!!

Received my sick, vacation, comp time ,extended illness, 457B money, and monthly pension.Glad I retired it save my life .4 former coworkers of mine have died over the last eight years.
Huh??
Let’s go!
Thank you so much for sharing your testimony. Self employment is my dream. Many blessings to you and your wife ✨ 🙏 💛 .

This is so encouraging! The Bible said that the Lord counted Abraham’s faith as righteousness.
So glad things are working out for you all. Unfortunately, not everyone can be self-employed because their are too many services that you and I need in order to survive in this society.
Amen!!! I needed to see this. Thank yi
Oh my! It was that bad huh?
What did you end up doing in lab? How did you get it going and transition? The steps? What’s the job description?

You’re are an awesome person. I am the same way! Thank you so much.
We appreciate and thrive in a friendly work environment.
God bless you
Thank you. I'm a pct at the hospital and 2 people have welcomed me and these aren't even people I will ever work with or see again because we're on different floors. I feel extremely unwelcome, esp because this is my 1st pct job ever.
I never understood why folks are not welcoming to staff coming to help….. it’s ridiculous
How do you like it?
And what do you do?
@@Kitkatluv33 at the moment I love the agency role, your basically a self employed RN. I decide my own hours and work where and whenever I want.
My work was like that. We worked long hours and their were affairs going on . It was disgusting people did this. One guy was messing w two girls and got them both pregnant. At the same time he got promoted to manager knowing all this. Most unprofessional place ever
Hmm.. Everyone' sleeping with one another wow.. I once wanted to be a rn but ill just stay a truck driver. seems like alot of drama.
I am a nurse and I work in Baltimore so I have my thoughts as to which institution this was. But this behavior is true at EVERY institution! It sucks what nurses do to each other! The "mean girl" cliques are alive and thriving. Some people love reliving the 5th grade....
Nursing school was just as toxic, main reason why I didn’t try to make friends in nursing majority of them catty and snakes
I’ve been an RN for 21 years and my stress and job/life balance isn’t near what you’re describing as a bedside nurse, and I am at MY wits end right now in nursing! Quitting the field has crossed my mind at least 3 times a day in the last 2 years!! It. Is. Insane.
What is making it that way all of the sudden?
I support that! You just might have a case. I hope all is well with you otherwise.
Did you get out?
Lol.
Seriously!!! HR can be so useless, I’ve witnessed so much nonsense, I wouldn’t even consider going to them.
Hallelujah Mrs. Curran
True! HR will work with your toxic manager to boot you out.
💯 HR is NOT there for the worker...
With that being said the littlest thing they stretch it as much as they can to make sure they look good, one even lied about me to the managers, at the end of the day all she wanted was to look like the perfect nurse. With complete disregard of what this will bring to someone else’s household , I was already living paycheck to paycheck then to have this lady for no reason at all decide to petition for me to lose my job, I am glad in a way I left this behind , maybe there is something better at the horizon waiting for me ❤
I understand completely. There are usually so many red flags! At least you know now, I hope you’re in a better place.
@HoneyNut Cocaine what's your new profession now
The most annoying thing is that they make it look like they are promoting safety when all they are being is toxic.
Crissy G, make the change NOW before its too late.
Really? Why do you say so?
As a white Nurse I experienced this in Georgia. Sad That nurse can’t back each other up, we are supposed to be in it for the love of the work, not to nit pick!

We definitely do! It's just another form of control.
Agree- especially if the hospital has ancient internet programs, we need better resources

For sure He'll close the door and give you something better. OR move some folks out the way. For sure!!! :)
You poor thing. My moms a nurse, but she is the type of person to ignore everything and focus on her work. So she just puts up with things.
I think they just needed an excuse to let me go.
did you document that you Assessed lung or abdominal sounds without the use of a stethoscope?
@@tdotwire101 Im a bedside rn. On some patients I didn't feel the need to use stethoscope so I didn't document any assessment of lung sounds for them. All I could document for that system was WNL (within normal limits) if the patient didn't had any respiratory problems. In my pervious jobs, we were told to do that since you can use your nursing judgement to prioritize whom you think needs proper lung assessment. Some facilities understand that in a busy shift there are more important things to focus on than that. Just talking about it makes me mad, because I know they did me wrong.
What happened after the reported you to the board of nursing?
Really?! That is awful! Is this common knowledge? What’s being done to change that toxic culture?
It's terrible, i recently resigned from my old job over here, I didnt feel safe anymore. People work with the fear of losing their licence.

I’m dealing with the cliques, juvenile and passive aggressive behaviors at my work location also.
It’s truly unfortunate.
The only people saying it’s not like that are the toxic ones who think they are not the problem.
And it has a VERY negative impact on the quality of patient care. I was a hospital patient quite recently and directly bore witness to the drama (highly unprofessional) and significantly and palpably experienced negative effects in terms of medical treatment as a result of such drama.
High school mentality. Omg, I can’t believe people are like this.
Right?! Like why can’t we just care for our patients and go home.
Thank you for your honesty! It's really interesting hearing these stories from nurses, as it helps me decide what I'll be doing with this career as an upcoming nurse, when I am finished my last year of school

I recently left my long time job I been in since I graduated nursing school because the lack of respect I dedicate my life and my family life to my job exposing us to so much because my heart beats nursing but I will never sacrifice my integrity for no job so I moved on and I'm some where new and pray I don't have to check no one no time soon lmaoooo 🤣 many blessings to you in your career and keep up the good work 💖
They will turn around and speak poorly if you. Trust me I know, I’ve seen too much.

Knowing what I know now . I know what to look for and what to ask for upfront.
I alway ask
What systems are used at the organization
What is the onboarding process , if they don’t mention training on the system(s), that is red flag for me.
Walmart is hiring
Your telling the truth 🤨
Have you considered other healthcare careers since you have credits?
You can choose other settings besides bedside. Also nights has less staff (smaller nsg homes, nun homes, ERs).
Like Kendra said, I think getting into another field would be a good idea. You can become a PA since it’s the same prerequisites anyway.
Amen!!!
i understand your story very well, my sister.
I quit mine too after 15 years. Healthcare is just to much for me now. I need peace!!!!!
I clicked immediately I saw nursing and i subscribed 😊,I must commend you for being brave peace of mind is everything in as much as we all like money some shit ain't worth it keep it up 👍
Thank you so much for taking the comment, I appreciate you. It took me a while to realize that peace of mind is most important.
Finsished the video as a nursing student we all need a mentor like you!
I’ll post some more nursing content that hopefully nursing students will find useful. Thank you!
@@KendraRN Can you do Nursing mentor/Coach as your side hustle for people like me struggling to pass the NCLEX-RN and nervous about going into the field and dealing with nurses eating their young. 🥶 Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! I beg😩😩😩
It’s the same with social work. Despite my masters I was harassed and micromanaged and eventually fired for only 29 hours and no benefits.I wish you the best!
It was very beautiful and useful content for me.
I am watching and enjoying here.
Thanks for Sharing....
I appreciate that. Maybe I'll post more nurse related content.
We need more nurses like you!!! 👍 God bless those who actually 🙏 care.. thank you Kendra we need more like you. I have been hospitalized six times this year due to many many issues for transfusion surgery heart stopping numerous times pulmonary embolisms just blood clots uterus nor Contracting many things and when I say I've been hospitalized a lot I have been hospitalized a lot I'm on nitroglycerin blood thinner is this on the other I just turned 39 and my heart keeps stopping I don't know what to do I have two kids and I have come across some let's say nurses who are how can I say this without offending anybody which is if you get the gist of that and I sure would be blessed if I came in and got a nurse like you don't give up Advocate nurse do whatever it takes but just don't give up on spreading your knowledge and awareness and everything that you see that can help the healthcare situations especially this time and day thank you again God bless you Kimberly
It’s a good profession but people make it harder than it needs to be.
The instructors are also bullies. My med surge teacher kept telling me I’m going to fail and not graduate I ended up dropping her class. She has no compassion and uses her ex military as an excuse to act that way.
Because to many people who are know going into nurses are only doing it for money. Period
@@Sabrinaxoxo92 wow smh! I thought when you make it you pay it forward not torture people 😡
Sis I am going threw the same thing with the bullying and micromanagement. But, I work in Accounting.
Nurses need a balance between direct and indirect care. Have you considered switching to informatics, case management, education, etc. You can do direct care prn. Doing direct care until retirement in this day and age may send you to the grave before your time. Protect your mental space.
I definitely agree with this.
Kenya you do things correctly..tha ks for your content...very informative!
It's so sad a great profession is so tainted now
The tattletales are the worst. What are they getting out of it??? It’s so frustrating
@ Barb C...what the h??????
Unbelievable.....I'm so sorry for these atrocities......
Great respect for your transparency and honesty. Some people make it seem so rosy and fantastic.
Wow 3 daughters, all nurses! That’s amazing. It is rough but when you have a genuine heart to care for people, you make the best of it. Thank you for your kind words.
I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO WORK IN A HOSTILE WORK PLACE! QUITTING MY HOUSEKEEPING JOB BACK IN SUMMER OF 2021 WAS THE BEST THING EVER AND I NEVER LOOKED BACK! GOD BLESS YOU!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😃😀😄😝☺☺😉😉😊😍😍😍😍😍😍😜
you go gurrl!!
Big up to all the good nurses out there, stay strong.
i am graduating in December, do you think home care is less toxic?
I know exactly what you’re talking about. It’s so pathetic. This is very prominent at large, university teaching hospitals. That is what I’ve noticed.
@depattie99 hahaha 🤣 you are hilarious but oh so right on everything you mentioned.
I’m so sorry this is getting to be too much. Even after my 27+ years, It is worst. HR is no help they are usually in the click too.
