Love my pro! I used to sing opera (coloratura soprano) and lost quite a bit of my high and whistle-tone range after I had a baby and took a break. This is already helping me a ton to loosen up my cords and I'm slowly getting back up into the super duper high notes! YAY!
Yay that seems like it’s more comparable to using a Veee or a Zeee sovt exercise. It’s insane how the one straw used to be too much resistance for me, and then when I got used to it I would find I’d have to go off the straw for more resistance on a Vee and then back on the straw. I think the pro will definitely help!
Kinda wish I had seen this before ordering the pro! I'm a baritone that tends to sing heavy and honestly I need to start on a higher diameter than all three "pro" straws is giving me. Thankfully, it's pretty easy to get a plastic straw and cut it to size for the carrying case. I keep a 5 mm and an 8 mm in there. If you do some nesting of the straws, they all fit with the brush XD
I jumped right to the Pro. =P Had to make a choice because of the shipping costs to Canada, but I'm so glad I took the leap for the Pro set! Can't wait to get started.
I'm 15 and have been singing my whole life. I have been watching your videos and using plastic straws and have seen my voice become much smoother and mature sounding. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to tell but would you recommend that I get the singing straw or the singing straw pro? Thanks for any advice you can offer! Keep up the great content!
So glad straw phonation is helping for you! Have you been using thin or regular sized straws? If you’re already using super thin ones, go for the PRO, you’ll have more nuanced options. If you’re using a normal drinking straw, go with the S/S original!
Hello! I'm super interested in the SS PRO. I would consider myself around intermediate/pro....I'm actually not too shabby HA BUT I have ZERO experience with straw phonics or straw vocal training. What would you recommend me I start off with? The Original or PRO? I feel like I would need to learn with the Original...I do sing for a living and would like to improve! Whatever you recommend me I'm getting for sure! I'm pumped.
The Original S/S has three 3mm diameter straws, and you can vary the resistance by using one, two or three at a time (effectively giving you a 3mm, 6mm and 9mm option). The S/S Pro was designed for experienced straw singers who want more control and nuanced variability in their resistance. In the PRO set, we have a 2mm, 3mm (standard) and a 4mm. You can't go wrong with either set, but I generally tell folks that if they are new to straw phonation with a narrow diameter straw, go original. If they have been using thin straws for singing in their practice, go for the PRO. Hope this helps :) So excited for you to try them out!!
@@SingingStraw I actually ordered BOTH lastnight! Lol il be posting and tagging you on Instagram FB the whole deal I'm excited to get to another level I know the SS will help!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I've been using a regular straw and am wanting to get the singing straw. Would you recommend getting both or starting with the regular and then getting the pro or going straight to the pro?
Good Q. Have you tried any thinner straws yet or have you been using thick straws? You’ll be good either way, I think it depends on how experienced with straw phonation you are...
Big voice here but as I have gotten older *ahem ahem* I am realizing that I am getting more vocal fatigue than I want. Have you seen this technique help in that area?
I've just found out about your product. Would you recommend starting off with the regular version of the straws then using the advanced version, as they are different sizes, besides the regular version?

I'm brand new to straw workouts and only 4 months along with vocal exercises in general. Is the proper technique with straws supposed to be that you're pushing air out the whole time?
I always recommend starting with the originals, especially if you've never used straw phonation before. However, if you feel that the pros work best for you, then by all means do what feel comfortable!
I hear you! International shipments are tricky because so much is out of our control. I highly suggest splurging for the UPS shipping, even though it’s more expensive, it comes in 2 days and we’ve never had any issues with it! These days the USPS has had delays :(

Yep! Steady airflow the whole time, but you shouldn’t feel any neck tension!

Yes! I talk about it in this video: th-cam.com/video/vtCQ1kIHh8A/w-d-xo.html
