Morph flips are Special Game Actions (NOT activated abilities). So, not only can they be executed at 'instant speed' through Silence effects, but they work through Grand Abolisher, Split-Second effects, and even Cursed Totem / Pithing Needle. VERY hard to interact with.
Flipping doesn't use the stack, but the ability that triggers when you flip it is a triggered ability. So it's hard to 'counter the flipping', but the counter in the ability it's easier
OH YES that is true. But we don't have that many of them. I can se this doing something like once. But I don't think people like having Teferi play sitting there.
I think the idea is also, you play Teferi, your opponent could try to remove Teferi, but they also have to wonder if you have a Will Bender which you will play for free and flip for 1U and bend your effect back into them :D And with Teferi in play is 100% that you're going to successfully do just that because they're all stuck at sorcery speed with that removal on the stack.
I am far away from playing cedh but i am a bit familiar with the subformat and have like 5 years of experience with Kadena against different powerlevels. The main thing about this commander is a) mindgames and b) developing your board for free while keeping your mana up for instant speed interactions and morph abilities that do not use the stack. Everyone knows what to expect in a competitive meta and that's where kadena can find a niche. Opponents might know the best morphs but still its hard to play around that jankee 2/2s. I am glad to see my all time favorite commander getting some love ❤
I'm so happy Kadena is winning in cEDH. It's my favorite casual deck and I've played some cEDH variants sporadically since 2019, getting a 6th place in a 22 people league style tournament a couple of years ago. The sneaky interactions are always great to see in a world of very consistent but not-so-varied cards.
Well no but 90% is decks are on a form of combo. It is the recommended choice. But there are some aggro attempts like slicer and jetmir. But I have to say I don't recommend it. For beginners it is better to play combo. More simple. Trying to win with combat in cEDH is actulkly hard and demand som skills. Sound strange but it dose. Now some decks do win with normal combat even tho they have combos in them. Najeela and jodha are good examples. Both have combos in the deck but can kill all opponents by just attacking.
@@cedhtv i would like to add Yuriko in it. There are tons of ways to play Yuriko and one of them is light stax your opponents while deal damage and draw tons of cards with your commander ability.
@@cedhtv thank you so much for your response. I Will take a look at those commanders, I started playing Magic 6 months ago, actually getting fun with Sauron The Dark Lord (reanimation strategy, casual deck). Your content is amazing to learn, thank you!
I really like the Yuriko suggestion here. She can have thasas consult and such in the deck but there are yuriko decks that are going for the controll burn gameplan like @marcelolima70 suggested. All creed to him there.

Hey cobble!
Youre right theyre not abilities. I believe they dont even use the stack.

Seems to me like an perfect example of when you truly have fun playing your commander you will do well.
So true! and there is something beutiful with that.
Teferi's flash also lets you use Kadena's face-down cast discount on each opponent's turn.

that is my friend. I'm a happy friend.
I clicked on the video right away holy crap.
Exactly why I'm here to lmao. This is wild.

I know this guy from my lgs in Madrid, he is a fantastic player and such a nice dude!

That's very impressive not gonna lie
Crazy, winning with Kadena
How does Karn last ability work? There is no sideboard in commander
If your artifacts gets exiled you can get them back.
@@cedhtv thanks :) do you know a channel where I can watch the gameplay where Kadena played in? If it was recorded
Bro it's Kadena, this is the LAST thing i was expecting to see today.
Me to!
Slinkers rise up!
Now this is one where i bet you are trying to get an interview for and work through timezones.
No. Becouse I have no time for one this and next week. Saddly. I didn't reach out to Roy Rajji as I knew I woulden't be able to book a time with him.
@@cedhtv oh bummer! Maybe for the next time he wins a tournament haha
I hope so. This commander is awsome. We need more morph in this format.
Lets go Rajjix!
Are there more non-combo dependent commanders? Is combo the only consistent way to win in cEDH?
Thanks a lot! 😊

AH YES! Yuriko. Good suggestion I forgot about her. She is definatly the commander with the most none combo finishes.

I'm kicking myself for not using flash granting cards in my own deck. Its obvious in hindsight.
❤❤❤
Hello friend, I sent an email to you and was curious if you had a chance to read it!
What email did you send to? Is this about a judge call?
@@cedhtv yes it is, was just curious your thoughts!
I did drop a response.
that is my friend. I'm a happy friend.
