We must never forget how good Andy Williams really was as a singer and entertainer. He could sing so sweet but also hit notes that many singers of his type could not.
My granny just past away she would sing this song to me all the time I love you granny fly high 😭❤️3-2-20
My grandfather would always cry when he heard this song play. He served in WW2 and his best friend sang it. They were both being shot at, my grandfather made it but his friend didn't. Beautiful song.
my great-grandfather served in ww1, he was shot in the tongue- he didn't like to talk about it.
+danny coogan lmao

+MrsCoolbeans ive found you at last
+Chris Garcia WW2 wasn't faked you ignorant idiot.
To one of the greatest singing voices that has ever been. Andy Williams you will be missed but your voice goes on to enrich the songs that touch so many peoples hearts. RIP
What an amazing voice!!!! one of the best and most unique i've ever heard! it really gives you a warm feeling inside, and his voice reminds me of x-mas everytime i hear his songs anytime of the year......this song made me tear up a bit.
This is a 15 year old rendition of Danny Boy by Andy Williams.. and it is truly beautiful.. Both of my parents were Irish. And both of them loved Andy Williams.. listening to this now I know why,,,
Thanks to TH-cam I found this gem.. Will add it to my playlist and play it often in tribute to them.. they were the best and miss them so much I do..
Thank you for posting this.. and God Bless you..
Jen999💙💚
My grandfather married an Irish girl he met in the war. Neither of them gave a shit about this song.

😌🎧🎧🎧🎶
Thank you.
The voice of an angel
Andy recorded Beatles songs, and the Beatles were also fans of his.
My Father liked him well.
modern family bought me
Thank you BioShock for leading me here
so sad :'(
♡
Williams of course is a great singer, now if we could just get rid of about 99 of the 100 strings in the background how good would this be?
“ Mas se você vier e todas as rosas estiverem morrendo e eu estiver morto, mesmo assim, eu posso estar bem...”🎶
29/Ago/18
they dont sing it or anything mike just mentions the name of the song if i remember right.
London Olympics brought me here
does anyone know who original wrote this. alot of people sing it
what album is this version on?
NOBODY sings this song like Andy Williams did!
Mario Lanza
Том Джонс!!!
Probably the most underrated crooner ever. People talk about Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby in sacred tones and of course, they did have their own unique magic. Technically however, Andy knew how to touch people deep with his voice and express a song with way more light and shade than all the others.
Paul Phoenix Neither Sinatra nor Crosby has quite the touch that Andy Williams had. He was truly gifted.
a rendition by Matt Munroe would have been something. I think he would have done justice to this song
Who underrated him? He was one of the most critically acclaimed male singers ever.
He is far more sensitive than either Crosby or Sinatra and a much better singer than either of them. He never had a cult following like those two did but he could sing circles around them both. If you want to know how not to sing this song, listen to Crosby, it'll put you to sleep. Bing had a very beautiful voice but he never touched the heart or even tried to. Sinatra sang from the heart but his voice was not that beautiful, really.
infinera06 Yes, and he and Henry Mancini traveled and did shows across the country in the 1960’s. Andy had a lot of hits and his own show also as Bing did. I honestly can’t remember if Frank did.
My best friend throughout my whole life just passed away at 19, he was Irish and they played this at his funeral today, it was beautiful
im sorry for your lost
How did he died
Andy Williams : His Voice Should Have Been Declared As A National Treasure !
Oh, Danny boy,
the pipes, the pipes are calling
from glen to glen
and down the mountainside.
The summer's gone
and all the roses are falling.
It's you, it's you
must go and I must bide.
But come ye back
when summer's in the meadow.
Or when the valley's hushed
and white with snow.
It's I'll be here
in sunshine or in shadow.
Oh, Danny boy, oh, Danny boy,
I love you so.
Oh, Danny boy, oh, Danny boy,
I love you so.
Thank you very much for the lyrics.
Lillie Mucha yeah we heard it to
Thank you so much
There's something charming about the old crispering noices.
I miss the true voices of performers such as Andy. This is absolutely a gifted Man. Beautiful
My grandpa died last September. He wished my cousins would learn this song they didn't before he died sadly. So last week we went on a six hour drive to my grandpas favorite lake where all the relatives would camp and have a great time. We all went there about 40 relatives from around America came to it and we camped for a few days. We put a shot of whiskey in his ashes then sunk it in his favorite fishing spot. (we tied together 5 boats). And after we did that my cousins sang this with a guitar and now every time I hear it I cry.
I'm usually not like this, but your comment made me cry. I didn't have the luck to see my grandfathers, they both died before I was born or before I could remember it.
that sounds like a really great way too represent your gramps ,,that pretty cool man foreal bro
beautiful tribute and I'm SURE he didn't mind waiting. I only hope someone would also do this for me❤
Beautiful. What a lovely tribute, Justin.
This song remind me my pa who liked to sing this song. It was long time ago.
Absolute Masterpiece! Perfect tone, pitch and amazing vocal control! WOW!
The way he was holding those high notes -- so professional.
J Cook You noticed the finer details J Cook. As I said on here, he was so underrated compared to the Bing Crosby's and Frank Sinatra's, yet had so much more technical vocal ability both in terms of range, expression and tone. Beautiful !
@@denisequinn9015 Do you think it is better than Bing Crosby's version?
That's a completely changed and good evaluation.
grandfather passed away thursday and they played this at his funeral Tuesday (yesterday)
Hannah Nevels R.I.P To Your Grandfather :) I Bet Hes Smiling At You Right Now!
May he rest in peace
YOUNG SOLELY my condolence friend
Hannah Nevels this was played in my grandfathers funeral also. He served in world war 2 and he said it's the one thing he would always remember. His one goal in life was to make it to 100 years old and get a letter from the queen sadly he died 2 months after his 99th birthday, nut we try to say he had achieved his goal by being in his 100th year
Same for me , my grandad died on a Thursday 2 weeks this week and this song it playing at his funeral
This song makes me cry every time, from opening to end. Rest in peace a great strong grandad who sadly passed away earlier this year
bbshooter998 This was my Grandpa's favourite song. He died 4 years ago and I wasn't with him when he fell into eternal sleep. I'm sorry for your loss
I feel sorry for your loss
He made this song a hit in the US, though it had forever been an old Irish must.
Yes, "DANNY BOY" One of the most beautiful songs ever. Surely, the most beloved Irish lullaby. No doubt, Andy Williams sang this song beautiful well. Thank you Andy, wherever you are.
For my money, this version by Andy Williams is the best I've seen. It's done live in a TV studio in front of a live studio audience and millions of folks watching on TV (back then, only three channels). Indeed his voice was so pure, so beautiful. And he sang those amazingly long notes with no punch-ins, no pitch correctors, no effects on his vocal... just his magnificently controlled vocal instrument, on perfect pitch, with such expression of loneliness... absolutely the best! He was an amazing talent, and funny as hell every week on his show... thanks for sharing this, Louis!
The only best ever version was at the 1988 olympics. Look it up. There s no emotion comes closer than the The Trainer.
Thank you very much for your analysis
Who's playing this in 2021 like me?
After all these years.
Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.
But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying
If I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.
And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my grave will warm and sweeter be
For you will bend and tell me that you love me
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me.
I am. Just a great version of this song. Always loved Andy Williams.
This song is age-less and profoundly moving.... I don't think anybody is not touched by this... the story of loss and parental love
Andy Williams had one of the very best voices of all time, no doubt about it!
I love this song.
I don't have any relationship with Ireland, I don't have parents from there, my family is not from Ireland, but Spain and Italy, but this song give me a deep peace plenty of hope feelings.
I love this song like a dear and hidden remembering from the heart.
Thank you for this publication

Andy Williams has a voice that would make the most beautiful sunrise stop a moment, just to listen.
Thank you for sharing this video :)
The very best of all of the crooners; he caresses the notes and goes for the high notes with no effort. I'm so glad for recordings.

60 Years Later, Still, A Wonderful Hit
Andy Williams - DANNY BOY
Ms Lilli I love your music!!
Duh
why did you repeat the title?
Such a beautiful and sad song. Sung by an irresistibly charming gentleman...
Andy happened to know by watching TH-cam, and Danny Boy has been sung by many singers, but his seductive voice itself has never deeply touched my heart in my life. Despite the same lyrics and songs, Andy is the first player to express this song emotionally. I can't believe Andy doesn't exist in this world right now and I think he'll come out once every 100 years.ANDY, I love you.
Andy Williams is the best that I've ever heard sing Danny Boy. When I hear this song, I always end up with with tears streaming down my cheeks. I think it's because I've been in the meadows when Summers return or when the valley's are hushed with snow. And those memories with friends and family are so strong, it just brings out the emotion.
1:38-1:44 makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. What a beautiful voice. RIP Andy.
Proabably the most incredible singer of our time.
Here we see someone who can hold a note perfectly, unlike todays singers who go up and down on a note because they know they can't hold it like this. This is art.
Yes. Also The Righteous Brothers' Bobby Hatfield singing "my wedding song" "Unchained Melody!" Just amazing! The version where he is wearing the "pink" jacket!
More like a gift
Most expressive singer you are, Andy Williams! You have the best interpretation of this immortal song!!! 😇
The most beautiful song i' ever heard sang by andy williams.never get tired of listening.
Breaking bad bought me here

It was in the end of and episode of 4 season, it was when Skyler wanted to buy the car wash instead of the láser Tag, but Saúl toll her that for a business like that you need a "Danny boy", an infiltrate person who Will not report the money laundry.

LONG LIVE ANDY WILLIAMS
After 20 years of people singing me and calling me "danny boy" I finally decided to listen to the reference. Good song.
Andy Williams is problably the greatest singer of all time. His songs have been heard in every country in the world. His voice is perfect. If you get the chance go see Andy in concert. There is so little talent nowadays that its great these singers are still bringing joy to so many peoples lives.Andy Williams is the greatest singer ever.

Wonderful Irish song.
I can never listen to this song with out getting all teary. I've listened to it since I was a little girl and it's the only thing that gets me to sleep. it's comforting and makes think of my only friend in the whole entire world which happends to be my band teacher. Just so you know in a couple of years probably 4 to 6 years I will have a book published called "Peanut Head" about him and his name is Mr.K.
as Flemish people we feel so very much united with the soul of Ireland - how come ?
this is a sort of mistery ..
down deep inside of us we feel close and united with the culture, music, mystic and the charms of Ireland ...
Flanders and Ireland are bound to be closest friends ...the 'why' remains - the fact stands ...
nicest greetings
grateful
Kindest regards from the Emerald Isle x
Perfection.. that last phrase is just wonderful.. there are just no words.......
To my Irish Grandad born in Ireland
@flip inheck the melody is from the Londonderry Air which is English but both that and Danny Boy are their own separate songs.

アンディ・ウィリアムズの「ダニーボーイ」好きですわ。
(*´艸`*)
beautiful arrangement--and its very difficult to beat Williams soaring, tender lyric tenor--the song begs to be sung by a tenor and Andy sings with heart.
