Appreciate the content. My drive shaft support ring slid towards the engine. It appears my c-clip is gone. Can I just put in a new c-clip and slide the drive shaft support ring back over it? I believe my carbon seal could still be good.

Okay so my issue is that I have a LOT of water coming out from between the drive shaft support ring and the carbone ring. Almost caused the jet ski to sink but luckily we noticed it beforehand. The gap is large enough that when we got it out of water, the water was draining from the intake port on the bottom of the ski. How would I fix this?
Good morning, just poured a cup of coffee and am sitting down to answer any and all questions for the DIY community. Is the rubber accordion style bellow ripped or has it just become loose or disconnected from its fitting in hull? It may be as simple as re-securing the bellow to the fitting with the clamp to recreate the required water-tight-seal. If not, the impeller housing will need to be removed to allow you to pull parts and replace with new parts. @@DIYwithMichaelBorders I found the issue. When I was putting the pump back on, there was a tiny piece of rubber from the end plug of the drive shaft that was sitting down inside the impeller. So when I was putting the pump on, the drive shaft didn’t have enough room in the impeller and it was causing the drive shaft to push toward the engine and create a gap nbdtween the carbon ring and the metal ring above it. I took the rubber out and cut a 2x4 to length to wedge in so the drive shaft couldn’t move. Once I had it tight back together I took the wood out and the gap was no longer present and it’s back on the water!

Nicely laid out description and visual! I just took mine apart and it had 1 O ring in the groove that the C clip goes, and there was no C clip or 2nd O ring to be found. SMH these 2 skis have been a challenge, but I’m learning enough as I go! Interesting enough, carbon seal kit does not come with C clip or new O rings... now that’s stupid
Thanks for watching & learning is a great thing. That’s odd the c-clip & o’ring is sold separately...🤔 Please keep us posted on your project. Hope all is well. 😎👍🔧🔩
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders update, looked back at the item I bought off Ebay and it showed 1 C clip and 2 O rings, upon further inspection of all the parts I bought for this project, I seen that little baggie slipped and fell away from other parts. Likewise, i watched some more videos and some state that the metal c clip replaced the o ring that i have. Also when i looked into the old top hat, it did have 2 o rings in the groves. So long and short, i disassemble it and put all the new parts in and am ready for pump to arrive tomorrow
I have a Seadoo HX and I think this is my problem. I’m getting water in the hull and it looks like it’s coming from this seal. I had a complete loss of power as if the drive line wasn’t spinning. Do you know if this can cause the drive line to slip and not put out power?

I installed a new carbon ring. The new carbon ring leaks between the new carbon ring and the stainless ring. Should I run the ring dry to get a finer seal?
