Plus there will never be a non point of contact putting it into the card saver as the bottom will scrape all the way down putting it in as they operate like that. I got a PSA 5 1st ed Alakzam that I cracked out of the case. I realized on whole corner was colored in with blue sharpie. Couldn’t believe they graded it and didn’t label it recolored. PSA is VERY inconsistent!

Based on all I've seen and heard, I'll be holding onto my cards until I see some consistency and accountabiliy in these grading services. From personal experience, it was a lot better 8 years ago.

You should. The hard plastic from the card holder can ding up the card or even scratch the surfaces if it bounces around in there awkwardly. Always sleeve before card saver. PSA taking the sleeve off to grade it and sending them back without putting them back on isn’t uncommon right now unfortunately. They are swamped during this pandemic and their quality has taken a big hit

Rhyme's statement on the BGS black label 10s is a fact. PSA 10 cards are easy for modern cards bu the BGS black labels will be the true chase cards for modern day collectors.
Guarantee if they took 5 BGS 9/9.5 or PSA 10 charizards compared to 5 BGS black label 10s, and mixed them all up, nobody would even be able to tell which is the “special” black label ones. The grading seems inconsistent and they just occasionally will grade something pristine, just so they can keep it exclusive, not because there’s actually a totally discernible difference between a 9.5 and a 10
Right now bgs and psa are backed up and because of that their customer service is not as good as before. If you want to grade now then try looking into cgc
TCA Gaming mentioned in a recent video that he has also had pack fresh cards come back as "recolored" from PSA. As frustrating as it is having to resubmit you aren't alone having this issue
This happened to me a couple months ago with a Hyper rare Charizard and Braixen, and a Team up prerelease charizard, all (recolored) sent in a card saver. I was pretty pissed, I ended up selling the cards individually just from dealing with that experience.
I feel ya, I’ve had a PSA order still in the grading process and they received it July 7th! Yes I did a quarterly special , and yes I know it’ll take time, but I only submitted 37 cards. Their turnaround times and customer service are very disappointing now.

There is a rumor going around that psa is purposefully grading cards low or sending back with defects just so you spend the money again to get regraded. Send in pack fresh charizard holo evo. Perfect everything and came back an 8.
It sucks that I feel like I have a nice amount of cards to send in for grading, but because of the all the hype around a general grading of things lately, I’m going to take a page out of the PlayStation five eventual owners manual, and probably wait a few months for people to get tired of realizing that their PSA submissions are taking longer to get back to them than the crazy amount of money they probably just started throwing out there this year to invest. I will probably regret that only because it will be more expensive to get in on the PSA grading train after already being involved in collecting before that. But coming in when people aren’t so obsessed with overleveraging in the year 2020 may be a better idea than risking it right now

Because leonhart had a similar problem, and it turned out that his cards were just sitting in a storage place in the mailing department🤔 so it might of happened to you to. I think the mailing department is less trust worthy then bgs.

PSA was recently sold to a larger company, i fully expect them to streamline their grading process in the next 6 months... whoever bought it knows that their key to max profit is fast turnover

With such a high amount of cards being flooded into psa and beckett they either need to step it up and get these cards pumped out in a timely manor or cgc is gonna catch alot alot of business and become swamped as well

As a sports card collector (venturing to see if i want to fully get into pokemon) i noticed the community is more tolerant with grades. Sports card collectors are so much more bullish toward psa 10. the drop off in value to 9 is drastic

There seems to be a new story everyday about how PSA’s service isn’t just ‘not great’, but actually terrible. As a business it’s a shambles right now and it’s crazy how some people are defending them
This is why I don’t grade my cards. I know it’s nice in theory to preserve it, but as someone who enjoys the cards for the cards sake, I just don’t care what other people’s opinions are.
@@TheLiftedState Both companies have strengths and weaknesses. Options are good to have. Just waiting 6-8 for your cards is a long time. Hopefully with added staff they improve wait times. From a design standpoint the clear cases in hand are awesome but the label could a redesign. PSA clear cases would be awesome.

Also Base Set 2 is going to be way bigger then base set 1. Much lower pops, harder to grade and WOTC original cards with some jungles thrown in.

Beckett and PSA seem like trash
Beckett’s slabs are too easy to counterfeit. I stay away from Beckett at all costs unless it’s a black label.

Beckett is also more strick with their grading. So they're held to a higher standard than PSA. Worth more in the long run.

Several of mine have big chunks of white dust in the cases, too.
