i lived in Ponce Puerto Rico for about 2 years , the power does go out usually only during rainstorms , the water stops running sometimes too but not as often . The power can be a problem sometimes but most of the time it comes right back on , at maximum the power goes out for 4 hours without raining . I lived in Puerto Rico when i was 14 - 15 I didnt speak Spanish but a lot of people speak english there luckily . I actually went to the beach he went to in the first video , amazing and in my opinion the best beach in Puerto Rico . They have a high dock u can jump off safely with super clear deep water and beautiful fish . The beach is called Crashboat if anyone is wondering . Theres also a cave u can swim to with a sunken boat (i thinks thats why the beach is called crash boat) u can still see on the surface once u get to the cave on the left side of the beach that i loved to swim to and smoke lol , theres also a dock u can jump off on the right of the beach as shown in the second clip

They told us we could not fly the flag when the usa took over Puerto rico that is why you see so many people displaying the Puertorican flag every where.

As for the similarities between the Cuban and Puertorrican flag is because Puertorrican revolutionaries used the Cuban flag as a template to create Puerto Rico’s Flag. This due to Revolutions that we’re meant to happen both at the same time in 1868 PR’s Grito de Lares and Cuba’s Grito de Yara. However there was a whistleblower and PRs revolution lasted only a day meanwhile Cuba’s lasted 20 years. Also the Puertorrican Flag that was outlawed until 1952 when PR became Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico, which is it’s the proper name of PR. Also Puerto Rico’s Flag is red and white stripes with a baby blue triangle and a star in the middle. The PNP party which is the party that wants statehood for PR through the years changed the flag to a darker blue to make it look like the US Flag as well as taking credit for welfare benefits and grants given to PR through the years. Thanks for all the positive vibes and I hope you enjoyed your time on my island. Something very true you mentioned we aren’t part of the US, sadly we just belong to it which means we can’t enjoy all rights and liberties that a regular state does have. Well the lesson is done. The Puertorrican History Teacher is done.

Great video! We also need to go back so we can go to the island of Culebra. We didn’t buy the Ferry tickets early enough. I found there is an airplane taxi service but it was $760 round trip for two. Too pricey for me.

For the flag part, Puerto Rico and Cuba are said to be the 2 wings of the same bird... same native people, almost same history/culture (before 1898). The story of how the flag came to be is said to be shared, as in, invented by Cuba/Boricua people together.

The light blue flag was the original color. Before we became colonized. We became a commonwealth and it was darkened to fit the North American standard. Traditionalists usually use the lighter shade of blue. Hoping for one day to be not a commonwealth. The United States has treated Puerto Ricans really bad considering. Now people are being driven away from their homes because of lack of employment and all of their houses are being bought off creating Airbnb. As if to create an entire Island just for resorters. In addition to that, although we have really good universities including an especially Maya West and University of Puerto rico, we still have Puerto Ricans that do not own facilities. For example Old San Juan which is a historical traditions and values and all these things that come along with it are all owned by the English of the United states. Puerto Ricans basically can work at these facilities but never own them. At least that's what it has come down to

Since It's "HAPPY 4th OF JULY"!!!☺️ And you have visited PUERTO RICO☝🏾
Here's a short History Lesson seldomly thought in American (US) School's☝🏾:
Spain🇪🇦🇪🇦 was one of England's enemies during the revolutionary war! George Washington was overwhelmed by the enemy and could of lost, but thanks to SPAIN and France who were major contributors with troops Washington won and here we are today. Good Ole USA☺️
During the revolutionary war Spain's major Bastions in the America's were San Juan in PUERTO RICO and Havana in Cuba. During that era the Spanish Empire was having problems with uprisings in the Mexican territories and it wasn't cost efective shipping troops from Spain, under Louisiana Spanish Governor General Bernardo de Gálvez-Gallardo!
Know where Spain brought most of their troops to help the revolution?? "Cuba🇨🇺 y Puerto Rico🇵🇷 son de un pájaro sus alas"!!!
Cuba and Puerto Rico are of a bird it's wing's 🇺🇸 HAPPY 4TH☺️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

One important factor regarding the current flag as many people have already provided information regarding the flag ...it was actually designed here in New York City and it is the reason behind the NYC 's National Puerto Rican Day Parade following the end of the gag law aka Law 53 of 1948, (Ley de La Mordaza).

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, & with His STRIPES we are HEALED."
God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, & the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, & abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

Studio w/hot water, wifi, AC, and parking near Barrio Obrero (10 minutes outside tourist area) - $1000/month
Ubers around town - $6 - 8 from my place. Way more expensive at night.
      City bus/shuttle - $1
Food - beans & rice in the tourist area was $20 minimum (this includes tax, tip, and drink).
Beans & rice outside of tourist area - $7.
Supermarket prices - pretty much the same as any major city in the US.
      Rental car - $100/day
      Nightlife - I didn't party, I just filmed it.

Puerto Rico is like a state...but not quite one😬
Original 🇵🇷 flag was baby blue, Statehood Political Party prefers navy or dark blue to resemble 🇺🇸 its a political thing🤷‍♂️
Car rental prices vary (depends on season)
English as a second lang. is taught in public schools, from Kindergarten all the way up to college.
Some private schools teach all subjects in English.
There are many people who speak English, especially in San Juan. Other parts not so much. They are able to understand it but are afraid to speak it.
There also many English speaking PRicans who have moved here from states and they can be found anywhere in the Island.
Power outages are common, some areas more than others, same goes for running water. Most people either own a generator, or go off grid.

I wouldn’t say Puerto Rico is like a state. Puerto Rico has it’s own self governing laws, unlike states. It doesn’t pay federal income and state taxes (unless you work for the government). Puerto Rico has it’s own National identity completely different from any state in the US.
You’re right about English being widely spoken by most Puerto Ricans in San Juan but outside of San Juan? Not so much. That’s because San Juan is a major tourist city. Most jobs in San Juan caters towards tourist.
